Hello,   I have a requirement where I need to develop a web service using Rest APIs where I need to get the acknowledgement from the downstream system on the objects I have transferred. I have done the same using SOAP but now I have to do the same using REST. Since I do not have very much experience on REST, any suggestion would be very helpful.   Process followed for SOAP based web service: i) Write bean classes with the attributes which I expect the downstream system to send. ii) Write an xml with the bean classes as inputs and call a method in the said xml. iii) Go to http://"Windchill URL"/RPC to generated the wsdl. iv) Register the task on Task Delegate Administration. iv) Provide the wsdl to the other interface.   Thanks, Sha

Currently in 9.1 and previous versions, there was a restriction onpurging iterations if it was the iteration from which a new view versionwas created. This presents a problem when you have to fix things andwant to remove a component from the system. You would have to deletethe new view version, purge then recreate the new view version. Hasthis been changed in 10.0? I am sure development would state there isan integrity reason for this block but I cannot see the use case. Sayyou have a BOM and CAD assembly and you make a new view version at somepoint. Then before release you decide to remove a component from theassembly and you so the same to the new view version. If you later wantto delete that component, since its no longer used in any currentiteration, you have to do a purge of the WTPart history. OK but it doesa partial purge since the iteration that created the new view versioncannot be removed. Therefore, the component you want to remove isblocked from deletion. I am wondering if

Hi Windchill Experts,   I am looking for the tools to integrate Windchill 11.0 with the Oracle JD Edwards 9.2. For right now, our organization enter data to JD Edwards manually. The BOMs typically are about 10 parts so the manual tasks are not that tedious. However, best is these tasks can be automated. Please let me know what third party software or in-house coding to achieve this automation. What pro/con each methods?  

Hello,   I have a requirement where the ESIResponse.xml file needs to be converted into an xslt file and then the xslt file must be sent to the downstream system. For Windchill server side java, for Windchill 11 it is bundled and certified with jDK 8 update 202 and for Windchill 12, it is certified with java 11.0.8   Now there are newer updates of the java to cover security patches being recommended. Per PTC documentation, "JDK versions shown are the JDK versions that were tested. Higher versions in the series are also expected to work" Would like to see if others have tried to do this, to install a newer update to get the latest security patches.  Would like to get feedback from your experience.  How much testing/rework/problems did you encounter with this. Hi, I have a group of users that I would like to review and add comments to a document/documents. How do other people manage reviewing Microsoft documents? I don't really want to promote any objects it is more of an activity prior to promoting to sanity check the document between a few users.

Good afternoon. I am trying to get the team roles from the product, in order to check what member is the approver. I am using this WindChill API: /Windchill/netmarkets/jsp/restapi/. In this API I have a method inside the search section called /search/objects. In this method I pass the type of my search (wt.inf.team.ContainerTeam), filtered by team name (name eq 'Product Type - Product') and then I want to select all the attributes but I don't know how. I didn't find any documentation about the object wt.inf.team.ContainerTeam so in this way I can't see who is the approver.  I try to $select the field 'Members' and it worked. I get the members but i can't distinguish who is the approver. So, anyone knows how to: 1 - $select all attributes 2 - Get the user that is the approver of the product with the WindChill API's.   Many thanks.

We work with a lot of family tables and I'm trying to improve the process. When we create parts, we use the new document command and it creates both the WTpart and CAD document with the same/proper names. When checking in a family table, it generates  a bunch of WTparts with a 0000000XXXX numbering scheme for each family member. The issue is the filename is also generic_filename.prt, so I can't distinguish what the file goes to without a lot of clicking.   Am i missing part of the workflow to generate the proper names with family tables?   Even with autoassociate checked, I cannot batch create WTParts using the importable spreadsheets because it still generates new WTparts.

With the lack of course material, I figured those who use SUMA or Supplier Management might know these off the top of their heads. Here we go: 1. Do your BOMS have mixtures of OEM, Mfg and Vendor parts or just all OEM? I know the answer is Yes, you can add non-OEM parts to a BOM. Are there cases for this? All of our parts to date are OEM (regular WTParts). So what would you do with a McMaster CARR part? This is clearly a vendor Part but we have these as WTPart forever. Do you create a Vendor part that is associated with McMaster CARR and link in AVL? Or do you just create the part as a Vendor part with no OEM part and call directly on BOM? 2. Milspec parts. Do you load with specific MFGs that make them or do you create a stand-in MFG for all Milspec parts as a generic approved mfg? Seeing these are often supplied by vendors, you may not know the original source. Here is a case where 1 OEM part tied to 1 MFG part of same number make sense, right? 3. For some reason we have discovered one assembly in our database that refuses to open with the latest iteration in Windchill. We can add the latest iteration to our workspace or by opening directly from Creo  and as it's opening it does display the latest iteration then it changes to an older one at the end of the opening stage. When  the older iteration is opened the workspace doesn't seem to recognize anything as being out of date.   When you synchronize the workspace, it suddenly realizes it should be the newer iteration and displays that way in Creo and all sub assembly parts update to the proper iterations as well, but as soon as we regenerate in Creo it snaps back to the older iterations.   This is has been shown to be happening with a few people opening this same model.

Windchillers, We created a custom workflow to route our contracts documents for review. We also created a report to display a list of running activities from the workflow. Recently we expanded our workflow and added a block to it so it would not be so "busy" looking. Now when we run the report it does not show the all the running activities. It looks like the ones with the blocks is not showing up in the report. Is this a bug or am I missing something? Hello,   I tried to bring a rule set to our Windchill (11.0 M030-CPS02) for the BOM check. I took the files from the example out of the help and I read the attached file for business rules. The import was successful, but I don't see the new rule. What's wrong?

Hi community, it's possibile to install thingworx flow and connect to navigate 9.1? I need to view both windchill and SAP and Salesforce data on mashups. And Flow would allow me to already have the connectors for the various communications.   Otherwise, Is there a connector with preconfigured services to communicate at least with SAP to navigate?   Thanks

I have custom code to watermark the signatories of drawing reviewers on the drawing title block, which is similar to a stamping tool. For the multi-sheet drawings, my drawing title block is configured to have the signatories on the first sheet only (bookmark of sheet1) and the successive sheets (bookmarks of sheet2, sheet3, etc) do not have the signatories cells for the title black.  Since the watermarking is burned on all the sheets, the signatories appear on the all sheets. How do I configure the  DDX file or AEM Assembler Service to only watermark the signatories on the first sheet only?

Hello.  Has anybody been successful in including the revision number when publishing STEP files? I've tried to read the documentation about it but haven't found anything. Either in the filename or in the step file attributes would be fine. Thanks.

Setup a new FTPS CAD worker  (Creo) the other day and let it run a few test jobs. Most jobs run just fine but am seeing FTP Connection timeouts on jobs with larger assemblies. It is just after it does the Thumbnail and I guess starts to FTP the data back to Windchill (or Windchill does to retrieve it). It sits there for some time before it fails with that message. I have not seen something like this before but I would not discount I misconfigured something. I copied my worker config from the replacement box. Its currently a Win10 workstation worker.  FTP is configured using IIS. Just a shot in the dark. I cannot tell if this is the FTP server saying it took too long to retrieve data. Does the FTP connection say active the entire job or does it close and restart a new job? What is odd is that many jobs and assemblies work just fine.

Hello,   Has anyone here has upgraded Windchill 12 for an organisation that was using Windchill 10 or 11 solely for SLM as the primary usage? If Yes, do you have any list of items or new features that helped you decide to jump on to the upgrade ship to 12 and would you mind sharing it.   I tried locating what's new in Windchill 12 under the documentation section available in PTC Portal, but that does not have any details in specific to SLM functionalities.   Thank you in advance!
