Hi All, We are using Windchill Bulk Migrator 11.1 for Windchill to Windchill Migration. we are using STANDARD mode for content migration.   We have extracted the CONTENT of WTDocument in table "CONTENTMETADATA" staging table.   when we executed the Pre-Load validation, then all objects showing "Content file does not exist" except the one. ex.. if CONTENTMETADATA table contains 100 records. 99 records showing the "CONTENT file does not exist". when we check the vault location mentioned in CONTENTMETADATA table.. all files are present their.   Why it picking only 1 file and for remaining files it marked as "content file does not exist".   Kindly let us know if any one know the reason behind this and how to fix this.   Thanks, Vivek  

Hello,  I have a document called XYZ which is a subtype of EPM Document in Windchill. As per REST API for EPM document management Domain I can read IBA's on top (Parent) EPM Document but not on its Subtypes. Attributes that I am trying to read are applied on Subtype only and not on its Parent type. REST API available OOTB cannot read these IBA's and seems like limitation of REST API. Also, this seems to be applicable to all other types and not just EPMDocument. Is there are option to read IBA's on Subtypes.? or customized REST API is the only option.?

I would like to use our Promotion Request workflow to set the state of the agreement if approved to active.  We are currently using the OOTB life cycle states for agreements.  I have never had to do this before and do not know the correct way of doing it.  We are on Windchill 11 M030.

I am curious how others track and manage changes to their Windchill installation over it's life, and also how you determine which of those changes are still applicable to the next release.   I already use the wtSafeArea for customizations, and I can look at the list of property changes in the site.xconf file, but it's tough to know if I'm missing other things like modified action models, Apache configuration changes, or even operating system changes.  I try to keep a running log of everything I change, but how do I figure out if I missed something?  I don't see any good way to automatically identify everything that's been changed since Windchill was first installed, especially after multiple in-place point releases and a plethora of CPS updates have been applied.   Once I have managed to identify everything I think was changed, I then have to figure out if the change is still applicable and/or necessary to the next Windchill release.  The only way I know to do

Nobody answered when I posted on the Performance Advisor board so I posted here.   I would like to hear from the people that have enabled WPA for their environment. How is it working? Has it provided any actionable recommendations? What were the results of those actions? Anything else that would be of help. I probably won't find this out but I'm curious how many use it.

Hello,   The default track work feature of the plan items in windchill lets the user submit rather bulky working hour entries as if all at once or partial, independent of the dates whereby the relevant working hours were actually realized.   I want to find out if it would be possible to submit incremental, ie daily, working hour entries by adding the related dates working hours are being spent ?   Thanks.

Hi all, We are planning to get Windchill 12.0 and there are people helping us with the installation on a new server. But we need to buy the OS system for the server and also the SQL software needed. We decided to go with Microsofts:s Server 2019 and MS SQL 2019 but those softwares comes in different packages. Server 2019 exist as Essential, Standard and DataCenter (I think it's called). DataCenter is not for us but either Essentials or Standard is. There is quite a big price difference here and Essentials seems to be for us as it goes up to 25 users without cal:s and half the price.   Question 1: Will Windchill 12.0 accept the "Essential" version or must we use the "Standard" version of the OS system?   Also the Server SQL 2019 comes in two versions "Express" (free software) and "Standard" both works with "Essentials" acc. to Microsoft SQL software matrices. Question 2: Will Windchill 12:0 accept the "Express" version of Server SQL 2019, the database will be limited to 10GB?

Curious if anyone knows a way to configure Windchill so that users will be notified when one of their own publishing jobs fails.  I'm not talking about notifying the administrator (or a specific set of user) about all publishing failures (see CS146690).  I only want the user who actually submitted the publish job (check-in, promote, manual publish, etc.) to be notified.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Is it possible to set up a CAD worker to publish as output .emn/.emp files from a Creo model? 

We have publishing rules in place at organisation level to control what gets published based on EPMDoc name, everything is working as expected. Today we needed to put a specific rule into a product folder and now when drawings in that folder publish they publish with Creo line colours instead of monochrome. After some investigation it seems like if we put any rule in any folder while also having a rule at organisation level, the drawing will not publish in the correct colours.   Worker logs show that it still uses the correct recipe file, so I thought perhaps its not using the pentables? Has anyone experienced a problem like this, my only work around is to edit the organisation level rule to capture the unique naming convestion, which means re-writing almost half of it and validating all conditions again, which I would rather avoid.   Thanks in advance!

Hi,   I have a question about Collect Object function. I am setting as a reference B document to A document from "References Documents" area at "Related Object" tab. Then, when I checked the B document's "Releated Object" tab, I can see the A document as referenced at "Referenced By Documents" area.   My question is; when I try to create new change request from the B document I cannot list the A document at "Affected Objects" ECR creating page. How can I create cross reference A document to B document for adding ECR affected object list.

Hi I am new to Windchill and i'm trying to migrate our windchill server to a more recent version.Currently we are running Windchill 10.2 M030 in a Vmware VM running Windows Server 2012 R2. This should be migrated to a new VM running Windows Server 2019 and windchill 11.1 M020. My approach looks something like this: Install new Windchill 11.1 on the new VM with same Volumes Paths etc. only the Hostname is diffrent. Export LDAP Export Oracle DB (expdp) Append LDAP from new Windchill Server to the previous exportet LDAP Data. Import LDAP on the New Server Import Oracle DB to the New Server (impdp) Run UpgradeManager  In Upgrade Manager i use:Gather System Properties - Database Host = Old ServerVault Mode: Different File Vault Host Information - Updated file Vault Host = New Server At first this seems to work, WinDu shows only 2 or 3 minor problems and Windchill runs. Hi, Still new to Windchill, so forgive my ignorance.   I am tuning my Windchill test server and am just curious about how exactly does the number of Method Servers effects the performance of the system?  When would I know to increase the number of method servers and not just the heap size on those servers? Also when would you ever want to have a different number of method servers than the recommended amount given in Configurator.properties? Is that even a realistic situation?   I guess maybe I do not fully understand what the method server does. I understand that the method server is responsible for the interaction of objects, and enforces their behavior and business rules,  but from the clients end is there specific performance issues that they would encounter?   For example, say I have the recommended number of method servers (based on my number of CPU cores), is there some event(s) XYZ that a client would have, or I could have visibility to, that would signa

In the FMEA I need to split the failure effects that are different depending on the mission phase in which the considered failure mode occurs. I need to obtain a table like this:     In the FMECA Worksheet, in the Mission phase field, I can select one of the phases at time but I cannot insert all the phases for the same failure mode. When I move the mouse on the Mission phase field label, the following pop-up appears:     It seems to me that it is possible to specify different effect for different phases but I don’t know what FIN Definition file is and how to use it. Hi everyone, what is the preference or the way in Windchill 11.2 to have the automatic representation of the pdf of a drawing? In my case with Solidworks I have the pdf created automatically (see photo 1) while for Creo Parametric and Inventor I have nothing (see photo 2). In addition to pdf files, can I also automatically create dwg or other types of files? If so, how can it be done? Thanks, Matteo.

What permissions are needed to allow non-admins to be able to download document templates?  I have a template that I need users to access and then use replace content on an existing document.  It is using attributes from Windchill to fill in certain parts of the document.  The old files do not have this available.  Or is there an easier way to switch over to the new template?
