HI, I am executing a java class from terminal in windchill environment. If I use System.out.println("Print this "); method , output gets printed in methodserver log file. I want this output to be printed on Terminal from which I executed my java file. How any I achieve this?

Hi all,   By default , "advanced search" is set with basic attributes Number and Name. I would like to add few other attributes by default. How can we do that? I try to find a way to do it since a while, without to have to use "save search". Hello, Is there a way to generate a popup warning message such as "Are you sure to modify a released part?" When a user try to modify a part at released state? When clicking Yes, it allows user to continue modifying, if No, Nothing happens.   Thanks !

Hello everyone When creating project plans on Windchill Projectlink , we created it by choosing the automatic execution option.   The biggest reason why we chose this;   1-) Emailing to users,2-) Not opening a task to past days,3-) We chose this method for more than one reason, such as not deleting the closed activities.    Normally our working hours are from 8:00 am-6:00Pm Monday to Friday for the week. There are situations when the friends in the project cannot close their tasks due to their intensity during the day. But there is a situation I noticed yesterday. If it is necessary to give an example outside of working hours, when they close their tasks after 6:00 pm, the actual work value is 0. This is the same not only in the evening but also on weekends.   How can I bring actual work value to real effort when they close their tasks on weekends and evenings?   If anyone knows, can there be support?

Hello,   I have created one simple workflow in that second activity i have selected designer as participant role .But when i select participant particularly it wont send task to assigned role user.But when we select individual user it will work properly. In role i have selected required < any. It assigned to creator itself.    

My company has its own raw materials folder in Windchill. In our part drawings, we use the parameter PTC_MATERIAL_DESCRIPTION.     When we need to change a material description, we have to do it in Windchill and in the material file itself (see attached picture), because PTC_MATERIAL_DESCRIPTION is driven by the material file description, not the windchill common name.    I have two questions:  1. Is there a way to link the Windchill material common name and the material file description so we only have to update the name in Windchill? or 2. Is there a way to pull the material common name from Windchill into a parts parameters?   Thanks,   Bob

Hello, customer needs to migrate Autodesk Inventor CAD documents from Autodesk Productstream PDM to Windchill. I noticed that Bulk Migrator supports Inventor. We do not have access to Bulk Migrator in I read that PTC GLobal Services (or PTC Professional Services) do this kind of work. I couldn't find any reference or contact of PTC GLobal Services (PTC web site is of no use here). So my question is who to contact for this kind of migration?

When we check-in a new CAD file (part or assembly), we have auto-associate enabled. The user specifies the folder for the CAD file, but the WTpart file goes to a 'default' folder that is set in the OIR file.  How do we get the WTpart file to go to the same folder  as the CAD part file automatically?   Creo 4m080 Windchill 11.0 m030

HI, I want a API to get all levels of where used part, I am using the below API to get where used StructHelper.service.navigateUsedBy(part.getMaster(),true);  but this gives only 1st level parts. I want all levels as shown in Where Used tab in windchill. when we load our drawing (pdf) into our PLM software, sometimes our customers request a step file.  i noticed that now, you can create the step file, and automatically attach it to the documentation in Windchill. however, if i do a search for a part, i have no way to actually download the file to my local drive, without opening it into creo, then saving it.  is there something i am doing wrong?  can i somehow browse to this part?

Hi,   Can anyone tell the difference between EPMMemberLink, EPMReferenceLink and EPMVariantLink? As in Windchill all the 3 links have same RoleAType and RoleBType. i.e. wt.epm.EPMDocument and wt.epm.EPMDocumentMaster, so how to know, which link should get created at which time?   Thanks in advanced 🙂    - Sumit  

Hi all, I'm hoping somebody can help me here.   I have created a subtype of the Part Reference and added 2 attributes to that new object type.   I have then set the constraints on that new Part Reference link to be between any WTPart and a particular reference document type.   I've then set up an example and all I want to do is actually set values for these new attributes but I cannot find anywhere in the user interface where I can do that.   Does anybody know how to do this? We are using Windchill 10.2 M030     Regards Ben

Hi, I am trying to terminate the workflow by using the below API. After terminating workflow, the process name get disappeared as shown in the attached image. WfEngineHelper.service.changeState(pro, WfTransition.TERMINATE);   Does anyone have any idea about this?    

I have been using Windchill for quite a while now. I have done many implementation of workflows for the company release process.   Throughout the years, I have realized that having multiple Change Tasks in a Change Notice add UI challenges for simple users. Workflow tasks are obviously nested under their PBOs, but training users and let them understand their task will happen only after all Change Tasks are completed and the Change Notice workflow resumes it has been a real struggle, no matter what company/industry I have been in.   Furthermore, it "complicates" data report. Managers will have to have a full understanding of the workflow implementation to understand data in a non "linear" way, since a completed CN may have multiple CTs.   I am curious to see how anybody is using Multiple CTs and if they found any advantage using it, since the workflow tasks in a CT can be definitely moved inside the CN workflow. I'm starting to explore Cognos for this report management wants ASAP. I'm trying to generate reports based on Query Builder queries and I'm running into what looks like some performance issues. I think I've narrowed down the issue to pulling too much data from the database and only filtering once it's on the Cognos side.   I'm basically trying to pull together a summary report of Change Request and Change Notice information by entering the CN number at a prompt page. Trying to do this without JSP pages or resource bundles only because of some limitations we have, but I'm open to all suggestions.   When I looked at the PSM PurePaths it showed SELECT * FROM Site#<query name> When I was hoping to pull a select of specific fields with a WHERE clause in there for the CN number.   I tried setting up a SQL query based on the report template but I'm not able to get the formatting just right to pull on the query builder queries. Hello,   I need help in order to optimize time needed for a report to run in Cognos.   Cognos report shows specific action items of users. i have used Teams in order to group users per department. Also in each team, there is one manager. The report now filters the action items based on who is running the report.
