However, in the EBOM, these are treated as purchased single parts that are procured as complete units from suppliers. For example, a linear guide assembly might consist of a rail, carriage, and screws in CAD, but in EBOM, it should appear as a single purchased item with one WTPart number.Description: We would like to know how other companies manage or represent this kind of data —assemblies in CAD that can reasonably be treated as single parts in EBOM (such as purchased assemblies or supplier-provided modules).How do other organizations express or manage these cases in their EBOM structure?Does PTC have any recommended or standard method for handling such data?Are there best practices for linking a CAD assembly to a single WTPart (purchased part),or configuration options to collapse the CAD

Hi,  I am in a same situation as this topic: https://community.ptc.com/t5/Windchill/How-to-Deal-with-Password-Protected-Excel-Documents-During/m-p/966639#M81742  where Windchill is not detecting password protected  and macro enabled office files where Windchill takes load and delay the process and then Publisher Failed the files. I saw you posted the Solution. Can you please give some more detail and how you implemented this solution. Did you configure some setting in Visualization Configuration Administration or WVS scheduler administration? Did you run some customer script to do this job. Hi Community  I am wondering if we have PSM alternative introduced after PSM using pure path technology and build on java platform to monitor the windchill server performance, can I use the last PSM version released by PTC on Windchill 13x or 12x system.

Version: Windchill 13.0 Use Case: I am using two groups within the context of a product in my Windchill instance. One group is a member of the "Members" role and one group is a member of the "Designer" role. None of these roles have the "Rename" action enabled in the "Configure Actions for Roles" table.Description: Both groups are able to see an option for "Rename" in the "Actions" menu of a part instance contained within my product. Both groups are members of a license profile which provides the "Rename" action to them. However, according to https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS110240?source=search , "Configure Actions for Roles setting will override Profile setting". The groups I have referred to are not assigned to any other role which has the "Rename" action enabled. Can anybody explain why users in these groups may be able to see the "Rename" option?

Curious if anyone else is experiencing issues with Password Protected Office documents while using the Creo View Adapters Office Worker? I understand documents with passwords are not supported, but when they show up, they block the publishing queue and prevent all other jobs from being processed until someone connects to the Office Worker machine and picks Cancel from the Office prompt. Maybe someone has a better idea on how to kill these stuck publishing jobs?   Is there a better way to manage these files in Windchill to support a more efficient publishing process?   We have been talking about creating a new document type or adding a new attribute to a document type so we have a hook we can catch in the publishing rules. Seems like a good plan, but it would be dependent on the document authors either picking the right document type or choosing the appropriate value for an attribute. 

Does Windchill supports SFTP to transfer files ? Do we need the external jars to enable SFTP in windchill ?

Thinking ahead to a multi-site, multiple SAP plant configuration which might be possible in the future. I am currently using the ERP connector and we have a custom integration on the SAP side to read in the ERP Connector output files. Obviously, the concept of a Plant comes with the use of a SAP type distribution target which from what I gather requires the fully licensed ESI package. I have only 1 target right now so very simple to Send to DT and away it goes. SAP has been configured to accept information and load to only 1 plant that we default to.  If we bring in another site, they will likely have a different SAP plant and I would want their data to go to their plant. Ideally, our data would be separated in difference product contexts but I do not see options in configuration to have it map a default Distribution Target by Product Context. Referencing this post: Configuring SAML SSO with Reverse Proxy , when we last left our main characters, we still a question why the sessionHook was reporting that the windchill domain was not matching the request and target hosts: I still have issues with the sessionHook.jsp for which I have a PTC ticket on. Take note of this debug logger (sso.shibboleth.sessionHook). This was key to it complaining about the different domains. I was able to code around the issue but intend to return to OOTB hook. For now, its working as it should. I will try and collect my notes and write up something clearer. There is a check in the sessionHook jsp files that has a flag isValidUsage and if hostnames do not match, you get an error. I believe this to be a security check. I just got off a call with PDSVision and we traced the cause back to the proxy so I want to make sure I document it here for others.

I have added 2 new states in Site >> Utilities >> Type and Attribute Management >> Customize Modeled Enumerations and after adding it to Site>>Utilities>> Lifecycle Template Adminitstration>> TKEPartLC, the new lifecycle is still not visible when I do reassign lifecycle for a given tkePart in windchill. It still shows the old lifecycle of TKEPartLC.

Why sometimes wtpart getting checked into windchill personal cabinet at site level, need help with reason and how can it be avoided.
