How can I get a object inside a Promotion Request revised when the Promotion Process is sent for rework? I tried to add a expression robot as below but I still couldn't get the object revised. I added this to the default promotion approval process next to the stage where the targets gets unlocked once the rework loop starts. I set the preference to auto revision mode and selected In Work in the state preference since that's the state the object is in when it will get revised.    wt.maturity.PromotionNotice pn = (wt.maturity.PromotionNotice)primaryBusinessObject;java.util.Locale locale = wt.session.SessionHelper.getLocale();com.ptc.core.ui.validation.UIValidationResultSet set= com.ptc.windchill.enterprise.maturity.PromotionNoticeWorkflowHelper.revisePromotables(pn, pn.getCreator(), locale);   The Process Monitor does not indicate any errors and says that the expression got executed.

I am building a new Windchill 11.0 m030 CPS08 system. Revisions is my current task to tackle. OOTB, adding a document to Windchill, it comes in as revision A. Yet, when I look at the XML file for revisions using the command: java wt.series.LoadFileBasedSeries -read, I get a file that has numeric revisions at the top and then Alphas. The OIR has: <AttrValue id="MBA|versionInfo" algorithm="com.ptc.core.foundation.vc.server.impl.VersionInfoGenerator"> <Arg>wt.series.HarvardSeries</Arg> ,/AttrValue>   What file is driving the revision scheme OOTB and what changes are needed in the OIR to use my own scheme which is alpha first, then numeric? I also found the option to specify an alternate initial revision. Does using this create a drop down menu that would allow us to choose rev A or rev 0 as the initial version. Is there more coding needed in the OIR to enable a version choice?  

Hi,   while going through the Type and Attribute Manager for Attribute, found a "Available Attribute ID" field, but on help page not found any thing related to this. if you know, please explain the purpose and where and how this field is useful in Windchill.     Regards, Vivek

Like clockwork, someone posts to the world "How can I get all the current membership of Windchill groups?" (exactly what is seen at Org, Groups) for the most part, although this ignores Site-level groups, Since this info is stored in LDAP, it's not available using Windchill reporting. Most new admins are shocked that there is no practical way to dump current Windchill group membship to a spreadsheet. We're still shocked at this as well.Today PTC posted CS50075, which lists an API which can be used.Long ago we paid for a custom class which returns the needed info, but don't quite know how it works and don't have the source code.Does anyone have a practical application of the API listed in this Case Solution?

We are working now a couple of month in PROJECTLINK.Because we can not revise and promote easy in ProjectLinkwe want to move the data to PDMLink.With "Send to PDM" we can move the data but we are loosing the historyand the revision of the parts are again on "1.0".Is there a way to move the data without loosing the history and the pdm revision?   thanks for the help.   Bert Busschers

I have a large collection fo PDFs and I need to set them all from "In Work" to "Released" state. If they were all in the same folder this would be a simple action but since they are all in different file trees the only way I have been able to get them all together is using the search. For some reason the search function will not allow me to select more than one and "Set State." The action is just not there when I select more than one. Is there a way to do this? Why is it an allowed action to individual objects but I cant do them all at once??I can provide screenshots and more details if needed.Thanks!

Hi There,   per default our Windchill 11.0 M030 displays real number attributes on the information page with 12 digits after the comma like seen on the attached screenshot.   Is there a way to format the numbers to a given precision?   Many thanks in advance.   Best Chris

So I am trying to set up Log Rotation for the access.log file with Apache. I am by no means an Apache or web server admin of any type... so not really sure what I'm looking at. I got the log rotation to take action by adding this line to the httpd.conf file: CustomLog "|bin/rotatelogs.exe -l D:/ptc/Windchill_11.0/HTTPServer/logs/access.%Y.%m.%d.log 86400" common   This has resulted in the creation of the daily access log file like I wanted, but it is also still creating the single access.log file. See picture attached... How do I get it to stop creating the access.log file and only use the daily rotation log?

Hi All,   I have a part structure where there is one document added twice to that part structure with two different versions. Likewise If Part A is an End Item I have Document A added to the part A and Document A has got a version of 2.1. However the same Document A has been added once again to the structure where it has a version of 1.1.   So within a part structure there is one single document with multiple versions. Now I wish to validate the part structure and display a message(Like a dialog box or a error box) to the user stating that a previous version of Document is there in the part structure and it should be updated with that of the most recent version. How can I be achieving it. Can someone please let me know about it   Thanks and Regards, Aditya

Hello,   I am using Windchill Quality Solutions 11.0 for FTA(Fault Tree Analysis). My calculation type is Lambda Tau, to get the failure rate and time for it. With this type, I can calculate the Unavailability(Q), which is probability of failure.   But what I really want to know the the failure rate(lambda) and exposure time(tau) of it.   I guess there might be way to get these values on FTA function, but I can not find it so far.   Please guide me how to get it with detail instruction.   Thank you.

Hello,   I'm struggling to configure Navigate to only return latest released objects, and hoping someone here knows a solution. I'm using a Saved Search in Windchill with the following criteria:   Iteration = Latest Revision = Latest State = Released   Running this search in Windchill with input of "*TEST*" returns 4 files all latest released which is correct. The same search in Navigate however, results in 7 files including some (not all) older versions of the 4 files. Expectations are that I get the same search results when using the exact same input and Saved Search between Windchill and Navigate.   What's odd is that, if I run a search in Navigate without any wildcards, using the exact Number or Name, then I get the correct result, the latest released file. Seems like older versions are included in the search result when using a wildcard character and/or when there's more than one file that matches criteria. This is a query regarding newly introduced 'Platform Structures' module with Conditional Rule capability.For 'New Conditional Rule' wizard, * In 'IF' section, user can select multiple choices or choices from different options - using AND, OR, NOT logical operators.* But this is not valid while adding multiple choices or even choice from different options in 'THEN' section.It seems, system validator fails to identify logical operator for this wizard.Has anyone observed this earlier while building Rules for Product Configuration ?
