Hi all. I have at WTpart structure. In Windchill I now want to rename all members of a WTpart assembly. I go to the structure of the WTpart assembly and was hoping to be able to collect the WTparts below. And rename using naming patterns. But I don't get to collect the WTparts below at all. If I chose save as instead of rename I can collect and rename all using naming patterns. I have looked into Preferences, but I cannot see what is wrong? Best Regards Gunnar

Hi The library contains a blank template or standard template, except for the data that comes in the product.So how do I register each file in the library?The files I want to register are fonts and template, symbols.Each extension displays such as .prt.1 or .tbl.1.CREO does not recognize when registering through the creation of new documents.How do I post?

New install of WC 11 m030 and when I go to login as wcadmin, I get a user not found error. wt.util.WTRuntimeException: (wt.session.sessionResource/2) wt.org.UserNotFoundException: User not found: unknown web name: "wcadmin".   Anyone have any idea what is going on with this?

I am trying to get a successful rehost or Windchill/PDMLink 10.0 m040 to another set of identical computers for a trial upgrade to Windchill 11.0 m030. I am uisng the Rehost Utility 3.0 m010. After a lot of work and retries, I have finally been able to get Windchill to start, but not without issues. Let me start by giving a quick over view of my rehost process. Install Oracle 11g on the test server, run PTC Setup to build the DB Install Windchill on its test server OOTB Windchill 10.0 m040 runs fine. I have installed the same modules as on the production serevr, so a Windchill Version report looks idnetical with the exception that I did not install the WinDU/WinRU patches on the test server Export the Oracle and WindchillDS databases Copy the vaults using RoboCopy Copy the cachevaults Copy the database dumps to the new servers Copy the db/sql folder over to the new Oracle server In WindchillDS, create a new base Dn for my company organization Import the LDIF file into WindchillDS Put t

Hi windchill has default vault, in my case path is "D:\ptc\Windchill_10.2_M030\Windchill\vaults\defaultuploadrootfolder"   and i create new master and folder.that path is C:\root_master_folder   after that i create new storage rulestorage rule was file that Domain is 'demo org' and type is 'EPMDocument' and status 'all' file go to new vault   but it look like there is no differencecause default vault and created vault size same   Configure vault to speed up windchill by reducing the size of the BLOB in the databaseIs not it?What is the purpose of using vault?  

Hi All,   I am trying to understand how WFTally works. Kindly let me know or provide some link which has explanation apart from help center.   Ex: If a Problem report or a change request is assigned to three users (user1, user2, user3) and if user 1 "Approves" the request, user 2 "Declines" the request and if user 3 "Reassigns" or "Performs any other task apart from Approval and Declining" which operation will be performed in the system. Good Morning,This is an interesting issue I'm having with hyperlinks. Windchill is misreading a symbol and so its pasting an errant address into the URL.#ptc1/...But when a small group of users click the link they get an error be cause that same link reads in the URL as:http://.../ptc1/...If I go back into the URL and fix the text the link works fine. Go back and edit the link, the link is correct. Somewhere in the reading of the link there is a translation going on.Has anyone else seen this? It doesnt happen to all users. The last user i encountered was running IE10.MSOffice 2007WindchillAdministrator

Hi   I have never tested https before testing Windchill.Therefore, I ask you a few ways for test it. 1. A certificate is required to configure https. Right?   2. Generate the certificate with the keytool of java and register it as a trusted certificate in java configuration. Right?   3. The directory where you install the certificate file and private key appears in the Windchill help center at <Apache> / conf /, where <Apache> is it?   4. Follow below steps to activate Windchill Performance Advisor to collect and send data to PTC: On Windchill, apply following patch: Windchill 10.2 M020 - http://support.ptc.com/view?im_dbkey=171405 Windchill 10.2 M030 - http://support.ptc.com/view?im_dbkey=171479 Shutdown Windchill Server and Follow instructions within the included ReadME to apply the patch Follow steps in the solutions column in the patch ReadMe file to complete the installation process. Start Windchill Server Login as Site Administrator and navigate to Site > Utilities > System Configuration Collector and Click Performance Advisor for Windchill button. The Performance Advisor for PTC Windchill window will open.   Enter SCN (Service Contract Number) and ptc.com credentials   Click Test Transport to verify that the Performance Advisor can communicate with PTC. On the Settings tab, click Yes, I want to send data to PTC, and Click Save Settings to save the changes made to the Settings.  

Hi  I am new to windchill. I have created a new subtype for part under org context. Assigned a lifecycle and OIR for the same. But while creating a new ACL the same subtype is not visible under any context Windchill version used is 11.0 Thanks

If you install Windchill 11.0 M030 by selecting Creo View and installing it together, an error will occur.We have not found the cause yet.Return code: -1 is displayed in the PSI log.So we check only PDMLink and turn off Creo View and other components, and installation proceeds.Has anyone experienced the same issue as me? thanks

HelloBeginner of Windchill.I have some questions about the database.I would appreciate your reply. 1. When you install Windchill, you specify the initial size of the database.Then how do you set it up for configuration?   2. Will it automatically create a new instance when the set size is exceeded?   3. How is Windchill's data stored in the database? Metadata format? Physical data?   4. How do I check where my Windchill's data is stored in my database?   5. Please let me know if there is a big difference between oracle and sql server     Thank you.

Hello,I have a task for Windchill and SAP/Oracle Integration but I have no Idea from where I should start which guide should I use. so can any please guide me from where I should learn this 

Dear all, we use Guice in many of our customizations and even though it work fairly well I have started to think a bit about how to do this in a manner that follows some sort of best practices. There are many entry points into Windchill customizations such as service startups, action validators, form processors, data utilites and so on and because of that I often find myself creating multiple instances of the Guice Injector class in order to instantiate my objects via Guice.    It seems to me that since Windchill is a (more or less) Spring based web applicaion threre should be some way of loading modules and creating an injector in a way that allows me to create it once and then reuse throughout my various customizations.    Has anyone else managed to find some sort of best practice aproach to this or is there anyone who has some ideas and/or opinions on this subject? I am in the process of upgrading from Windchill 10.0m040 to Windchill 11.0m030. I have some customized rbinfo files in my wtCustom folder which I have copied over to the WC11 install structure. Do I need to run resourcebuild on these files before I do UpgradeManager or will the UpgradeManager find these and build them into my final WC11 system?   If I need to run resourcebuild first, can somone provide me the proper syntax for building StateRB.rbinfo which is in the <loadpoint>/wtCustom/wt/lifecycle folder into the OOTB WC11 install.   Thanks    

Has anyone used the direct connection between Creo Illustrate and Windchill that comes with Illustrate 4.1? What are the pros/cons you've experienced with the direct connection?  I prefer the concept of a workspace in WWGM where we can do work before uploading that to commonspace in Windchill. I'd like feedback before we commit to upgrading to 4.1.

At present in Feature manager design tree, Cad part number or file name is displaying. But how to display Windchill CAD Part Name adjacent to number. Are there any properties or preferences to enable this?  

When using Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 7 to browse Windchill 11, whenever an action is performed that usually opens in a new window, an extra window 'about:blank' is opened. Any way of getting rid of this without switching to an alternative web-browser? Some customers simply 'demand' the use of internet explorer.

Dear community, While publishing using the ESI Framework, we would like to filter out child parts of enditems in a BOM (except the top level part, which may be also enditem). The end items should be contained in the BOM. This needs to be done to differentiate between plants (distribution targets) where childs elements of enditems are not required in the ERP software in the target plant.
