Windchill

What is the best practice for being able to split quantities into different operations.  We are a bit confused here on how to proceed.   Assembly:  410-158444 Child parts:  401-158888 (QTY 4) needs to be split between 2 operations in the process plan.   Do we make a manufacturing view of this part, add another instance of 401-158888 with a qty of 2 and then from the occurrences tab reduce the number of the original 4 to 2?  Please provide any details you can (what UIs Explorers or browsers) to achieve this.   We have quite a few assemblies that the design view could be used in the process plan - except for the allocation of qty to operations.   Thanks, Greg

Hi all,   I'm a little bit lost. We are going to move our server infrastructure from 2008R2 to 2012R2 including all my Windchill visualization workers. A first test has shown that moving a Creo 3 worker from 2008R2  to 2012R2  is not an issue. When trying to do the same with SolidWorks 2016 worker I ran into a problem. GS Worker Deamon starts a SolidWorks.exe process but this stops immediately after launch - regardless if the Service is running with user permissions of a logged in user or with SYSTEM and "Allow service to Interact with desktop". It seems that Solidworks does not know where to display it's gui... has anybody experienced the same or knows how to allow the application to pop up on the desktop or virtual desktop? launching the swworker.bat interactively works fine ... just when launched by the service it stuck.   Thanks, Stephan

Back in early December, I downloaded all of the installation media that was available for WC 11.0 M020, and when I look at the list of available media today, 1/13/2017, the Service Pack download for M020 is not listed.  Even the webpage with the list of available software updates is missing the Service Pack listing despite the other M020 components being available.Is this on purpose to prevent installation of M020 or is this some "glitch" in the downloads site?

Dari  (PRS) is currently not supported by Windchill. We need support for ISO 639-3 to be added to Windchill so we can eliminate manual desktop publishing and reduce translation cost and turnaround.

Just polling to see what other companies do.  We are looking to create somewhere where uses can request access to Products and have that routed to a certain role within the product (like a Product Manager). Sharepoint has a feature that if you are denied access, there is a button to email the owner and request access. Something similar to that or a process where by you can request access for multiple people (list).  Our posture is to grant access only on a need to know basis.  Does your company have this rolled into PDMLink or have you created an outside process to manage requests?

Hello,when in my Parametric I create a new part/assembly, thanks to a config option I also have its drawing automatically created.The problem I have when I do the Save & Upload, is that the drawing takes its filename and number equal to those of the related part/assembly, but not the common name. So that I always have to go and rename it doing a copy paste of the common name.For example, you can see here in this video below (also attached to the post) that the common name of the drawing (in Windchill corresponds to the field "name") is equal by default to its filename, both when I do the simple "Save", and when I do the "Save & Upload": Video Link : 7503 How could I put it automatically equal to the common name of the part (that is "test_commonname" in this case)?ThanksBye

We are new to CREO 3. and Windchill 11.0.We have set up a Library in Windchill where our designers check in new CAD designs (drawings, parts and assemblies).this Library has a folder named for each designer (I.E. Desinger A, DEsigner B, etc.).currently the process is for the designer to check in their design and in the check in window they would select their specific folder to check in their CAD docuemnts.Is there a way so when the Designer checks in their CAD cosuments their specific folder in this Library is automaticlly selected?thanks for you help.
