Windchill Customization

I have have navigated to the information page of a part and selected  the 'Structure' tab ->  and opened any part then it opens in a window with 'Structure' tab selection by default . Now I need to open the window with 'Details' tab selection. 

I need some help. I created a relatively simple workflow (reused from another workflow we have) that takes a file, changes the state to Obsolete, moves it to a separate folder and starts a timer. After the timer is done, an activity is launched asking an Assignee to take some action. When that's completed, another timer starts followed by another activity (same as the first one) and then the workflow ends.  There are no loops in the workflow. There's barely any code! The only code that exists is the "move file to folder" java code.  Somehow every time I go to initiate this workflow it initiates and then continues to do so on its own until i disable the workflow template. Now that I know to look for this, I normally catch it after it's only initiated about 200 times or so. The issue is also that the activities sends an email and the first time this happen, Windchill sent me 1800 emails before I was able to shut down the workflow.  Am I missing something easy here? Hi All,   I have a part structure where there is one document added twice to that part structure with two different versions. Likewise If Part A is an End Item I have Document A added to the part A and Document A has got a version of 2.1. However the same Document A has been added once again to the structure where it has a version of 1.1.   So within a part structure there is one single document with multiple versions. Now I wish to validate the part structure and display a message(Like a dialog box or a error box) to the user stating that a previous version of Document is there in the part structure and it should be updated with that of the most recent version. How can I be achieving it. Can someone please let me know about it   Thanks and Regards, Aditya

Hi All, Here is my requirement, I have 2 Attributes on Document, i.e. Level A and Level B. level A is Boolean type attribute and Level B is String type.   we need a behavior like, when Level A is true then Level B must be mandatory attribute and if Level A is false then Level B is normal attribute or grayed out attribute.   while doing this i am exploring "Conditional Constraints" in type and attribute manager, where we can choose a Driver attribute on that basis it will render driven attribute, but my difficulty is that in this case, i am able to select Driver attribute, but not able to set behavior of driven attribute.   Please check attached Image. and let me know how i can save information          

I am testing a new install of Windchill 11.0 m030 CPS08 and set wt.fv.fvFileThreshold to 20. I have also set wt.fv.useFvFileThreshold, wt.fv.useVaultsForAllContent and wt.fv.forceContentToVault to true. When I created the vault, I set it to Automatic folder creation. This is what we want to test.   Does Windchill create a new folder and start populating it when the threshold limit is reached?   I have uploaded 30 documents to Windchill and they are all going into my initial folder. Is there a minimum threshold number that is not documented?   On my other production system, it did not have the Automatic option when setup back at Windchill 8, so I manually create new folders and be sure that 2 or 3 are mounted and ready for the threshold of 50,000 to do the rollover. Dear All, I have created e signature in Windchill. After approval there will be reviewer name in workflow records, can I add these column values (reviewer name and review date) in my drawing files without customization? These column values are in workitem type and esignature attribute. How can I map these in my EPMDocument and display in my drawing file which is in both .drw and .pdf format? Has anyone tried this?

Hi All, I have created WTOrganization by using Windchill API. it was successfully created. When i tried to add Org admin to this newly created Organization found that this Organization is not present under Org Tab. I have check WTORGANIZATION table in DB and found its entry.   How i can get this new organization under my Org Tab ?   Regards, Vivek

At the site/industry level, we can block the process of the updating the process, if EBOM structure is not developed 2. We can create some custom code for pop up window to select the required part & generate the EBOM.   These two procedures are quite interesting  but I need some support for developing EBOM structures without having laborious process that we are doing at present.   The problem is documented and attached to this post.  Please check it and kindly help.   &n

The"new view" action should be under Actions menue directelly and not Under the sbmenu Actions\menue.   So, this action does not create a very new object.However, the action new version create realy a new object is Under menue Action.The action  semantics  does not respect the actions a classification.   So we propose to change this action Under Actions menue.

I have a Little excel database, and I would like to read the "Status" and the "Version+Iteration" of drawing. Also the description, maintaining some kind of Read-Only link from Windchill, I suppose that somethiing like DTI "DEsktop integration"  that do an OOTB from office applications, but is possible to do ?

Hello, everyone   We are going to do some development based on Windchill's OOTB.One of their requirements is as follows. Someone in the user checks in the object.Can I create a separate document or CAD tab to announce who checked in and which files were checked in for checked-in objects? For example, User A, who is part of Product1, checked in part1.All users belonging to Product1 can notice that User A has checked in part1.Notices can be displayed on the homepage in the same form as a mission.  I need to prohibit users (designers) from changing their vault preference. Thus, I need to lock user vault preference for few users. I see that importing user preference xml file does not have lock option that works. Is there way I can achieve this.? 

Hi all,   We have a small issue when sending to SAP parts with small weight values. For example if you set the weight at 0.0000000001 then to SAP (in the windchill ESI Response files) the value 1.0E-12 is sent.  SAP cannot process this so we should have 0.0000000001 sent.    Any ideas?   Alex

Hello, everyone   Can I use parameters for naming and numbering?We are going to establish a naming and numbering scheme for businesses that are introducing PDM.We are going to propose the following.#### _ #### _ <button> .prt or #### _ #### _ <button> .asm #### means a four-digit number.The first four digits represent the part number, and the middle four digits represent the pid.The last <name> will be the name of a generic model. The 4-digit number will specify the number following the OIR in ORACLE DB.The last <name> will be the name of the file you will enter.In combination, EPM documents will be given a number and file name.The public name will have only <name>. Each type also expects parameters like parameters PTC_WC_PART_NO, PTC_WC_PRODUCT_ID, and PTC_WC_PART_NAME. Can I use WINDCHILL PDMLink systematically to satisfy the above requirement without having to use CREATE RELATIONSHIP in CREO? If possible, please let me know about the approach. Than

How is the tab and attribute panel invoked? I can find action/model for it. Please check below screenshot!

This has long been an issue with the multiple concurrent workflows in the change process. If I assign a task to the user in a change notice workflow, I can grant rights to modify the PBO. But what if they need to modify things in the affected objects table like Inventory Dispositions?  That is not the PBO and there could be many objects or change tasks. Cannot be handled simply with a workflow variable.  I guess I can do it with lifecycle states on the change task but is there another way assuming the change task is locked for most other people?
