Here is a model for Creo Simulate to test the computational performance. A "good" PC should take well under 2 hours to compute.

We have a user who is trying to use our Simulate (MECELITEENG_License, MECELETEUI_License) license, but is being told that functionality is unlicensed. Currently, the core Creo licenses we have are   PROE_DesignEss PROE_EssentialsI PROE_EssentialsIIM   I'm suspecting the Simulate license will only work with one of these core Creo licenses, and not the others. Thus, when this user pulls a license, if they get one of the other "flavors", they can't use Simulate. Is my suspicion correct? Is Simulate set up to only work with a specific type of PROE_XXXX license?

Hi all, I am looking to simulate permanent magnets' interactions based on the magnets' dimensions, distance from one another, orientations, their field strength, and other respective parameters to calculate the force they exert on each other. Is this something that is possible in Creo? Has anybody attempted this in Creo before? I am open to other non-PTC suggestions for this, too. I know there is magnet simulation software in Python, so maybe I'll take a stab at that. Thank you in advance!  

Hello, I have a problem when launching an analysis of a rack. The software throws the following error "The model is insufficiently constrained for the analysis. Please review the element connections,properties, and constraints in highlighted entities. If this is a modal analysis, then you may be able to obtain a solution by requesting additional modes."I have been trying to solve this error for a month and it has not been possible, I have already tried to solve it by means of welding contacts and interfaces, applying certain properties in the materials and I cannot solve it, I hope someone can help me, I attach the image with the errors.

I am using Creo Parametric - Release 8.0 (connected) Release 8.0 and Datecode8.0.2.0One of the engineers in this group is running CFD through Creo Flow, and the systems environment variables (CFD merge quality of 10 and CFD mesh control of 0.1) no not seem to be applied properly to the model.

Hello, I'm trying to set up a non-linear buckling analysis in CREO.So far I have been successful in analyzing a cantilever steel column, but I am only able to predict elastic buckling loads.The actual buckling load needs to be obtained from a nonlinear buckling analysis, and should be smaller than the value predicted by elastic buckling analysis. Is anybody aware of a CREO tutorial so I can learn how to set up this type of nonlinear problem?  Thank you, any help it's very much appreciated

Please help me clarify: So Creo has 3 Simulate solutions: -Creo Simulate -Creo Simulate Live -Creo Ansys Simulate   Creo has 3 Flow solution -Creo Flow Analysis -Creo Simulate Live -Creo Ansys Simulate   Is there a simple chart that goes through these differences? What are the benefits of each? What do users typically buy. It seems like Creo Simulate is an older tool, but the others are relatively new. Both Ansys Simulate and Simulate Live came out around the same time. Besides the fact that this is confusing (why do this?), it makes it harder on the consumer to figure out what to choose. It seems like on youtube, more people are discussing Simulate Live.

Dear all, I was trying the inverter tutorial (with no heat transfer) and I get an issue during meshing (Simulation mode).I've only italian screen, I'll try to get in english soon and attach here.Fast translation is like: "Impossible to get tessellation from input geometry. Check geometry. In case of external fluid problem use general tessellation changin 'tessellation type' and retry." Does anyone get this error? Thanks for the answer

Hello everyone,  I am currently working on temperature modelling in tooling in Creo Simulate. On my current study, I would need to use the temperature distribution of the last step of a transient simulation as a starting condition for another transient simulation. I know that it is possible to set a fixed temperature or use the temperature distribution of a steady-state simulation as a starting condition for a transient simulation, but I don't see how I can use a result from a transient study. Do you know any techniques to do this? Thank you JulieFrench mechanical engineering student

Does anyone know how to control what is displayed in the graph?I opened the run status again and the graph displayed Deflection vs loadI couldn't get back to the norm vs iterationI couldn't see a right click or anything in the menus,I re-opened the run status a 'random' number of times and it went back to deflection.I must have missed something.Thanks

Hello, I'm working on a simulation of flow in combustion chamber. I am trying to setup the model in order to validate the model based on data from experiment. Since I'm using Pressure inlet as a boundary condition for inflow to said combustion chamber instead of using the whole cylinder for the simulation (which would be very computation resource consuming) I tried to pre-calculate a velocity field inside of my simulation domain to subside the missing cylinder volume. Then I wanted to adjust the model with said velocity field as initial condition, however it seems like the only possibility is to use integral values for the entire simulation domain. Is there really no way to use already simulated velocity field as an initial condition for further simulations (sure with the same mesh)? Thanks for any reply

I'm trying to work through one of the CFA advanced tutorials for multi-component mixing on a model of a mixing nozzle and I'm having trouble with defining the boundary conditions. The tutorial is telling me to first define the total flow as a Specified Volumetric Flux and then define the components as a Specified Value. It appears to me that the Specified Values are a percent of the Specified Volumetric Flux. (See the attached Multicomp_dir) Makes sense to me. The problem is that the Program doesn't work this way. When I set the mixture to Specified Volumetric Flux the program doesn't let you select Specified Value for the components, it only allows Specified Volumetric Flux. (See Multicomp_CFA) So what am I supposed to do? Calculate and enter the Volumetric Flux of each componet at the various boundaries?Also, on the Nozzle_Side_Inlet I expected the Specified Values for the components to add up to 1.0 but they don't. The tutorial says 0.99 for O2 and 0.9 for H2O. Is this a typo? 

I am looking for a way to conduct a Visual Analysis, for sight lines or sensor Field of Regard.  Ideally, we would be able to manipulate the 'visual' area to meet the human eye or the sensors visible area.  Given the 3D data in all of our Creo models, and the various scene/perspective view settings, I believe there has to be a way to create these from within Creo.  It appears that the Manikin functionality has almost the solution (with Vision Cone & Vision Window), but I was hoping for a way to manipulate the eye’s FOV to match certain sensors we deal with commonly.  Is there a way to create a ‘custom’ manikin that would allow the FOV to be changed?  Or is there a ‘camera’ functionality that would do something similar?  Create a scene, or special view that limits the aperture & turns on perspective? The result would be something like the attached image, with areas outside the FOV shaded/blocked.  

Everytime I open my last project in the Flow Analysis, my results from the last session are gone, like Stream Lines, Sections, XY Plots etc. I always save the file and the project and open the .spro file, which is created automatically everytime I save the file.

is it possible to disable Windchill integration on Creo Simulate.I would like to use it outside of windchill

In Creo Simulate Live Fluids, every system I try to model that includes a heat load (or object with a prescribed temperature) results in the whole system rapidly diverging to infinite temperature. As an example, I would like to model free convective and radiative heat transfer from a simple system consisting of a small hot body attached to an aluminum heatsink (above) and a thin copper sheet below, floating in air, but have been unable to model this in such a way that the temperature of everything does not rapidly diverge to infinity. Analogous simulations in Live Thermal behave as expected.Is there something I'm missing? Anyone have an example of a model of a simple PCB with chips and heatsinks in air (or similar) with a live fluid sim setup that works?I have been unable to locate any examples or validation models for Creo Simulate Live Fluids in the Creo documentation (the documentation for this extension is really sparse), but would love to review such items if they exist.I am using

 The above image shows simulation result of a random vibration analysis. This is the first time I see a vibration simulation result with the total effective mass greater than 100%. How could it be allowed by Simulate to do this? Is there any software patch to prevent this kind of error? 

HelloI looked and I search and didn't find any references to this.Is it posible ? and if yes, how would you define a composite material such as concrete in a simulate analysis? As a start I was thinking of setting the material properties, I got this far  

In the above screenshot, there is a Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) and an Adapter installed at the end of tube (pointing downward). When I applied two Weight links (as shown in the 1sigma stress plot at the right side), the max stress is 100+ times higher than the one shown in the plot at the left side, in which only one weight link is applied. What is the problem to two links? Do I have to combine the two masses into one mass point in order to simulate both mass contribution from Adapter and PRV?  Thanks.Also, is there a good reading about "weighted link" (and "rigid link")?
