Dans les versions précédentes il y a un emplacement pour indiquer qu’il y a des Mesure pour les quelles prises en compte dans les calculs. Cordialement. Denis

Hello all,   I am wondering if anyone has ever modeled a length of chain in Creo Simulate as part of an assembly. I would imagine would be best model it as several small idealized beams with there vertices shared. I know in ANSYS there is a specialized beam element that can simulate chains but I was not sure about Simulate.   Thank you for your consideration.

Hi All,  I have doubt for Interface Force calculation at Contact Area in Creo Simulate. 1. What is the Unit of  Interface Force & Interface Area (for mmNs) ? 2.  Larger the Contact Area, Smaller the force. 3. If I divided the contact area into specific contact area zone (Using Volume region), Interface force is increasing, why ? 4. What is difference between Component force & Surface to Surface force ?   Can anyone help me to understand above point. After solving one CREO Simulation it look Like got very high interface force practically which is impossible.

It appears after having set up the config file for the parameter dialog it does not sort the name column descending.  The XML does contain the lines: <sortby>      <column name="name" order="Descend"/></sortby> The other settings function as expected.  Something missing?  Expectations too high?

I have been trying to use Creo Simulate Live, just to see how it works, but when I start a simulation, I don’t get any results (see picture below). I tried running the same setup in Creo Simulation and got it to display results in there. Am I missing something in Creo Simulate Live to show me the correct results?   I used a load of 25lbf down on the top, and fixed the bottom surface.    

Gurus,In my assembly I replaced a screw with another which made my cross section fail. I get the following: "WARNING: highlighted loop in cross-section B may be incomplete." And the screw is red with no hatching. I open the screw part and try to put a x-section through it and I get the following: "Cross-section fails to intersect part." I verified the screw is a solid, tried .sat and .stp imports, and tried moving the x-section so it is offset from center. Hi,   I would like to find out how the LCS (local coordinate system) of a mechanism body is determined in the CREO mechanism module. Does anyone know how the system calculates this CSYS? Background of my question: I am trying to export the rotational placement of a certain body by using the Euler angle 1-2-3 measures in a kinematic study but these always refer to the body's LCS and I don't know where that is compared to the parts/assemblies inside that body.   Thanks a lot for your help!

Calling all "Gear Heads",   I'm having trouble finding an old Creo planetary model, and recalling, exactly how to define the gear-pair to establish proper planetary gear motion in MDX/MDO. My system is a simple epicyclic set with 3 planets. My trouble is defining the ring gear. I seem to recall there is a trick to how to define the ring gear's assignment so MDX understands it's an inward facing involute set and provides proper movement and torque & speed transfer. I don't want to use a "generic" gear type. I can't seem to find anything on-line, within PTC support, or inside this community - what's the trick I'm not able to recall?   TIA

Just FYI, I have asked questions about this particular topic before, but I'm having issues with a completely new model: https://community.ptc.com/t5/Simulation/Parts-disconnecting-during-static-analysi/m-p/618144#M7861   I am trying to analyze a linkage structure with hydraulic cylinders and pins using contacts but I am running into issues with the model disconnecting and parts getting insane levels of deflection (like 100X what they should be) during the run. The most frustrating part is that it meshes without a single warning/issue and I ran several conditions on it last week without a problem. In the last year I have had this problem with 3 different assemblies and it seems to be totally random with no way to fix it other than scrapping the model and starting over.   I am about to lose my mind trying to figure out this issue and I really don't want to spend another week setting up this model again. Greetings   I'm an undergraduate mechanical engineering student working on graduation project (Exechon robot ), that robot has complex kinematics ,so I have chosen to do it in a simulation software but faced many obstacles and during searching I found a simulation video of my project  made by Creo .   I don't know any thing about Creo software but I'm amazed by it and want to know if I can reach my target by it . what I want to do : import my design and Creation of kinematics like joints between bodies and constraints ...etc . create path , use inverse kinematics solver to move the robot joints thus the robot tool follow the path . export motion profile of joints . Hello All,  I have limited experience in doing dynamic analysis in Creo mechanism so hopefully I am missing something easy. I have a pretty easy analysis I am working where my only load is gravity and I am looking at the effects of a 2 point lifting fixture that has a load held tight at one end and the other end has the equivalent of 1" of slack. Ideally I could idealize wire rope (that's for another topic) but for now I am using a couple of modeled linkages for my simplified cables. The intent is to determine the acceleration of catching the load with the 1" of slack in it and the overall movement of the lifting fixture and load. This seems to work but I have found when I change the measure I am looking for or change the frame rate I get wildly different results. I can have what looks like what I would expect, take a copy of that analysis and boost the frame rate, to make export to video formats time correctly, and get completely different results. Creo 4, M100   I was playing around with trace curves in a toy mechanism model I created to understand how they behave and I noticed a few things I didn't expect.   The mechanism I created is a rotating double pendulum - a double pendulum attached to a pivoting center component. The analysis type is dynamic and the only load I have is gravity. There's no friction or damping so no energy loss.  Because the trace curve tool requires a .pbk file and because I understood .pbk files to only be a record of each frame, I wondered how frame rates would affect the trace curve accuracy. So I ran several analyses with different frame rates (1, 10, 100, & 1000, all starting from the same arbitrary snapshot), created trace curves for them, and compared the differences. After 1 second, the difference between 1 FPS & 1000 FPS was less than 1 millimeter. After 2 seconds, the difference was so great that the curves ended on different sides of the assembly.   At first, I was

Hello   I am looking for a way to simulate the plastic deformation of the clip by bushing insertion. I tried to find procedures to set constraints and loads, but all didn't work. the clip is a stamped metal and the bushing is solid metal, and I wanted to determine the material based on the simulation result. Hi,   I have a basic question about creo Simulate. I'd like to simulate the following assembly:     There is a large mast that is a few meters long. And then there is a little plate bolted onto the top of the mast. I only want to simulate the plate on top of the mast. Is it possible to exclude the mast from the calculations ? The mast can be assumed as 100% rigid in this case. Calculating the plate takes only a few seconds, but it takes very long to calculate the whole mast every time. So how can the mast be assumed as rigid, so that it isn't calculated every time I run the simiulation ?   Thanks, Maik  

My understanding is that Simulation Live uses the GPU to perform calculations.  When I run a simulation on a part, task manager shows the CPU running hard and the GPU not doing very much.   Is this normal or is there a setting that I should look at to allow the GPU to take on some of the work?   CREO 4.0 GPU:  NVIDIA Quadro P4000• Version 86.4.a7.0.d• Memory ~25 GB

I want to set more than one BC for the inlet of my object. For example: I say that I want to have a specified velocity, a specified pressure and specified volumetric flux for the inlet of a pipe. But I just can choose one of it. Is it possible to give more information for the flow simulation?

Simulate considers the last value, i.e. the one evaluated during the last simulation step through the "measure tool".   How can I proceed?

Is there an option to see exact values of pressure, velocity etc. in Creo 4.0? For example: If I create a monitoring point in a pipe, I would like to see the exact velocity-value "xy" at this point. I just can plot a graph.    My actual goal is to get an average value of an area with different velocities (like shown in the picture). I just have the rough information from the legend.

I am looking at running some random vibration analyses with wire rope isolators and I am curious to Simulates capabilities in handling the non-linear linear springs that have different force-deflection curves in tension and compression. The attached image is representative of the type of spring I would like to idealize. Can simulate handle this type of spring? Hello Firstly, let me state that I know absolutely nothing about Creo Simulate 4.0, only how to open it and create a mesh within a component. Our team are discussing how best to go about running fea on Creo assemblies.  These assemblies are made of machined parts, machined from castings.  Our current philosophy for casting to machined is to model the casting, then when we create a machined model, we merge the cast model (using the Get Data > Merge/Inheritance) into the machined model, then add all the machined features, predominantly weld preps etc. The guys running the FEA, in years gone by, have run into problems using the machined models, as there are invariably gaps between the components, usually filled with welds when the parts are assembled in reality.  If we use the cast models, then invariably they will overlap, which Simulate doesnt like.  We had a student in our team for a while and he came up with a good idea of cutting each cast model, while in the a
