Arbortext

Has anyone found a method to convert Microsoft Word to Arbortext? The Import/Export tool use to provide this service but it's no longer available. I realize drag and drop works but it's not time efficient when converting a 200 page document! Thank you for any suggestions.

I would like to study arbortext privately.Firstly, I would like to know what each tag means, is there any way to study it??? (e.g. books, sites, videos, etc.)   

I cannot open PTC Arbortext Advanced Print Publisher. License problem: The desired vendor daemon is down Requesting ArbotextAPPDesktop 7788@localhost: (-97)   I had this problem in 2016 and the PTC community solved it for me. Imtools.exeStart / Stop / RereadStop serverStart serverServer start successful  Now I have the same problem But using the same solution does not now solve it. Can anybody out there help me please?

Dear All:I just installed the ISOView 7 on my window 7 workstation, not problem encountered.But I reallies that I need to disable the protection mode (which by default enabled) in order to view the cgm file in IE with ISOview. Does is possible to view the CGM file with isoview 7 without change the default setting?Thank you.chusoon

when using Arbortext 8.2.0.1 from Arbortext 7.2 and now see my topicref titles are appearing as zeros in my bookmaps. This occurs in Column View only.  I ran the "Update Stylesheet for Editor", but no change.  can you help me  

I have a few questions about understanding arbortext, so I'm posting a question. 1. Is windchill essential for Arbortext publishing engine2. Is there only a way to use Print Composer to distribute editor's content without publishing engine?3. Is the Print Composer only available in PDF?4. Can I use the arbortext editor even if I use Illustrate instead of Arbortext Isodraw?5. Is all the process of Arbortext possible locally without windchill?6. Which of all the platforms in Arbortext are essential for production and deployment? Thank you. 

PTC Arbortext publisher printing the graphics as a raster but we need all graphics in vector.Please help to update the settings so that I can print graphic as a vector file. 

Hi,I'm trying to figure out pricing for Arbortext with Styler, but can't seem to get a hold of any salespeople from PTC, I fill out a form and never hear from them. Does anyone know approximately how much is one user license is?  If not, can I get a phone number or an email of someone that can actually give that information? Thanks,Simon

Can I create a link on my custom toolbar to a pdf or a different program? So the user can click on it in and it will open the other program or link? Bryon

We have thousands of references, mostly from PubMed. Currently, each reference is tagged in DITA in a chapter. Many references are re-used in other chapters. For our French content, we copy all the references from the chapter into the French related chapter document. The DITA chapters are managed in Windchill Arbortext Content Manager (ACM). Any suggestions on how we can make better use of ACM to manage references? How do you manage your references?

We are using the PTC TIA application. I added a ph element to the bookpartno element in the cover topic. No issues. I go to make a resolved document for editing and  it tells me the PH in bookpartno is out of context. What do I need to fix. Bryon  

What are the major differences between Arbortext Editor 7 and 8? Updating old hardware which have 7.0. Download center only have 8.1 and 8.2 available to load on new hardware.         

Is it possible to have two different covers in one ditamap? Bryon   

In Arbortext Editor 7.x you could create a shortcut to the application go to properties, then add -styler to the end of the link in the target field. It would look like below: "C:\Program Files\PTC\Arbortext Editor\bin\x64\editor.exe" -styler Is this not possible in 8.1?

Is there a way to search for text in RDE and replace it with an element. eg PN # gets replaced with <ph platform="123_Co-brand 456_Co-brand"></ph> Thanks Bryon

Does anyone know if ISODraw will be getting updates past the current version (7.4)? I cannot see anything on the product calendar. Tks!   

We're having a problem where some graphics are not showing up in our PDFs. Most graphics appear without a problem, but some more complicated graphics appear as just a blank space with the Figure's name below.  We use CorelDraw to create the CGMs. Add them into the DMs in Arbortext, and PDF in Windchill.Anyone else ever have this problem?When we try working on it in IsoDraw to export as a CGM we get a polygon warning. See attached.
