Hello everybody, I'm completely new to this community - so hello to you. 🙂 So I guess, all postings have to be in English, don't they? I wasn't successful in getting support for Arbortext. So if anyone has a concrete URL I still would be grateful. The question I have is if there is a charge free trial version of Arbortext. Have a nice day, Thomas

Currently, in my environment, enhanced completeness checking (which includes Schematron) only runs when the user manually runs the "cc" command or selects Completeness Check from the menu.    We would like Schematron to be continuously validating the content in the Editor in real time. Another option is to "force" a Completeness Check upon save or close, but because we are using a third party CCMS with its own Arbortext ACL programming in custom/init and scripts, we feel it is too risky to rewrite the save and close aliases ourselves to force the completeness check.    Unfortunately, this is necessary because some of our tech writers cannot seem to get in the habit of following process and running "cc" before checking content back in to the CCMS.   Any ideas? Thanks!   PS: We are running Arbortext Editor v6.0, but we should be on v7.1 by year end.

I made a stylesheet that was a copy of an existing, working stylesheet. I copied the modules, and, using the Organize Modules button, I removed the old modules and added in the new copied ones. I made no other changes, saved the stylesheet, and closed it. Then, when I try to re-open the stylesheet, I get the following error:   ERROR: Stylesheet includes module 'Engineering Style Sheet'  (C:\PTC\custom\doctypes\Engineering\Engineering_ditabase.style) multiple times in module hierarchy. The stylesheet module hierarchy may have been invalidated by other stylesheets that are currently open and share common modules with this stylesheet.    I looked through the modules in Notepad and can't find any reference to my stylesheet in them. I've tried duplicating this stylesheet a few times and keep getting the same error. I was able to successfully duplicate one previously.  Is there anyway I can fix this problem? Or perhaps does somebody know where I'm going wrong?

We have use jt files that are exported from SolidEdge. We open our pre sized template and place one or two JT files  on the standard layer in isodraw. We then adjust the models as required, convert from 3d to 2D, scale and move it to fit on our template. Then if we convert back to 3D sometimes the models are at axis in the image not at the one that it was on before 2d'ing it. We also have issues where going back to 3D the model goes back to being the original size not the scaled size. We have tried to do all our scaling in the 2d environment. We use Arbortext 7.0 authoring tool and APE to export to PDF.  Our stylesheet is using Arial Unicode. Upon initial review of our PDF the Operations Manual appears okay at 100% view. But upon closer inspection, the PDF is duplicating the letters in our titles. This happens, we thought, when it was just our headers that were bolded.  OOppeerraattiioonnss MMaannuuaall But upon further investigation, it appears that anything we bold has double letters. Is it because of the font?  In Arbortext 6 we used Helen Pro, a font we purchased without issue, except we had to have different fonts for Asian languages.

In IsoDraw 7.2, I have the ability to cut a line at the intersection of another line using F5 or F6. Sometimes, I wish to cut many lines in this manner along a path. It is very inefficient to delete a part of each line individually, sometimes there are hundreds of lines. Is there any kind of functionality or even a macro that could accomplish this?

Hi, using ISODROW7.3 i need to get in messagebox the position X,Y of text. We have a macro that does three wait mousebutton calls to get three points to allow us to draw a figure. The issue being is if we don't click quickly enough (can vary from 2 to 10ish seconds) the entire program locks up and we have to kill IsoDraw to continue. Has anybody seen this before?   Thanks, Martin

These bug fix-only releases are available on the PTC download site.   8.1.0.1 can be installed on top of an 8.1.0.0 release or it can be installed by itself.  8.1.0.1 contains all 8.1.0.0 and 8.1.0.1 release updates.

I have some titles that, through a condition, add a "NEW" image to indicate that this section is new.When I do the TOC the image added in the condition with a generated text of type suffix does not appear. I am using Arbortext Editor with Styler V7.0 M070 with DTD 38784STS-BV9a. Somehow, the numbering of the figures in my Appendix got out of whack. In my chapter 8 I have 35 figures and they are numbered 1-35. But in my appendix the first figure shows as A-36. I need it to be A-1. Any help is appreciated.

Hi Folks,We have been using Arbortext as a publishing tool for almost a year now. So far we have not had too many issues we haven't been able to overcome. Typically our documents are between 50 - 200 rendered pages and contain images, lists, cross references, and often many tables.From time to time, I get complaints from users indicating that after rendering documents multiple times, they get segment violations and Arbortext closes. The work around is to restart and keep going. It seems that the more complex the tables get (cell spanning) the more likely we have issues. For fun, I took a document and copied the content many times over to see what would happen when we have a larger document - the result is Arbortext will just crash about 330 pages or so into rendering. From a system perspective, I can see memory usage climb (x32 version here) to just over 1.1 GB before the crash. The error I commonly see is editor.exe: segment violation (signal 11).My question is this, how do others han

We have a menu file that we are trying to call up, using the siteprefs file. It should get the menu file from the unzipped application folder, but I cannot figure out what the path should look like. The file is located in the custom\lib folder. If I enter the entire path I can see the menu.
