Arbortext

We are in the process of switching our style sheet from fosi to APP. Currently, we use Arbortext Print Composer on each desktop for publishing. In testing the published output, we are finding that while it is publishing you cannot do anything as the system always brings the editor screen to the front. Is there a way around this??ThanksBryon

Hi Folks,I am currently testing out our Arbortext customizations/environment using Arbortext 7.0 M030 (as we are planning on an upgrade from Arbortext 6.1 M020).So far, I have managed to fix the toolbar issues (it seems some button icons were not recreated using the newest style) - this was fairly simple to create some new buttons based on the old design. - so this works. and I also fixed a few other issues with our toolset.However, while PDF composition appears to work well with our current custom stylesheet/schema setup, I have noticed the following error in our event log after the publishing cycle ends:ERROR: File Save Error: The file "{#APPStyler}_compose.$$$" could not be created.ERROR: Cannot access file "{#APPStyler}_compose.3ns"I have been tracing through various acl files, etc trying to determine where Arbortext may be trying to save a file that resembles this - however, as I am sure most of you know, the publishing process is fairly complicated.I did find a file called _compo

It appears fine when visualised in PDF . But when I create a gen-text for definitionblock and use 'Current Element' , it does not show up my styling (i.e bold made for TERM element.) .Can you pls suggest what needs to be done so that the styling is retained .Regards.Sriram Rammohan

Hi Folks,Currently Arbortext support ePub2 as a format.Epub3 has been around for a while - and so far I haven't seen anything that would lead me to believe that Arbortext will support anything newer in the near future.So the question is, will Arbortext support ePub3 - or is ePub as an output format just being sustained at its current level with no plans for further development?Thanks,Rob.

Is it possible to output generated content between table rows or, more accurately, as gentext before a row that looks like it occurs between the rows.I have a non-entry element that can occur before the first <entry> in <row>. The element has an attribute that, if present, needs to be output to look like a row (that spans the width of the table) that proceeds the current row. When I run some simple, mark-up only tests, I discover that content that is entered into the XML source between the rows is displayed, but content that is entered into a row, but outside of an entry, does not display. Using Styler, I've tried to output the content in the gentext on the <row> element, but have had no success whatsoever. I've tried looking at the FOSI source code, but I don't see a way of forcing this to appear in this context.I'm using Styler v6.0 M080, and the stylesheet is FOSI-based. I have no authority to change the DTD, so I have to live the mark-up I'm given.Here's some samp

Can someone please tell me if it is possible to customize keyboards shortcuts in IsoDraw 7.0? I know that there is a default set of keyboard shortcuts but I am interested in making my own. I have searched high and low for the answer to this and everything I have read thus far leads me to believe it is not possible. I cannot believe IsoDraw has not implemented this type of functionality into their software at this day and age.

Dear Users ,I have my appendix element after body element. The numbering of Appendix Title should be A  (i.e A.AppendixTitle ) and the divisions inside Appendix should be A.1 ,A.2 ,B.1 ... respectively.I am able to bring the Appendix Title to show 'A' using the "Details Numbering -> start with A,B,C... " . I am not sure how to achieve A.1,B.1 .. for the Division inside Appendix. Pls help- Sriram Rammohan

I am looking how to check in/out Arbortext files within Windchill. The type of files we deal with are .ditamap, .dita and .iso files.  Also, stylesheets too. We want these arbortext files to act as like our Creo CAD files…………able check in/out , creates iterations and revisions, etcAre there settings within Windchill to make this happen?   Any help would be great.

Hi Folks--I know that in previous versions of PE (<=6.x), XSL-FO support was implemented in a multi-stage approach, where the document is transformed into XSL-FO markup, and then a dynamically generated FOSI is used to create the final output. Can anyone verify whether that is still the case in PE 7.0? There was talk a while back of developing XSL-FO support via APP rather than via FOSI, but I haven't heard whether that actually went anywhere.Thanks!--Clay

Hello,In my ACL script, I need to create a dialog box to include multiple check boxes so users can select either one or more items from it.  Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to know those items ahead of time.  I'll have to open a SGML/XML file and collect all the possible selections, then create multiple check boxes for it.  Because of that, I went back to Arbortext online help to see if any other alternatives could fit my needs.  So the list_response() command was found.  But it seems to support single-selection list box only, not multiple-selection one.  Could anyone help me on it? Dear All,The image defined in each chapter has to be in the format like "<ChapNo >- <Imageno > " where Imageno = (nth+1) position of Image.Ex: If Chapter1 has 3 images , the text below 3rd image should show 1-3. Similaryl if the 3rdchapter has 1 image it should be 3-1.The constrain I have here is to reset the imageno to Zero when a new Chapter starts. Pls advise how to do it.Regards,Sriram Rammohan

Has anyone had problems with the fonts or the tags in Arbortext appearing either way too small or way too big? If so, has the size of either changed every time you opened a new document?I have been having issues where every time I open a document, my tags appear enormous and my text so small you can't read it. If you zoom in to read the text, the tags get even bigger and take up the whole screen, making it difficult to author. If I close out of the document and reopen it, the tags are bigger than the last time, and the text even smaller.I tried using the suggestions in another thread that was actually started on my behalf and met with limited success. (Changing tag display size in Arbortext Editor)If I set my preferences to match those of my teammates, it looks like this:In order to make the text readable, I can use the "set fontpercent=" function, but have to put it at something crazy like 200 or higher.
