Arbortext

I have a 38784 DTD. The major content section of this DTD is the chapter element. How can I have writers working on different chapters at the same time?Surely there must be a way to chunk it up into different files, be able to parse them individually, and somehow pull them altogether at publication time. I am just not getting it.Mike

In the previous version, I was able to search for tags with specific IDs. For example, I could search for an xref with xrefid "ABC".  In 5.4 I can't find that feature anymore.  It use to be under the Find tool in the menu bar.  Did this feature get removed, or do I have to configure a certain setting or preference?

Hi All, I am new to XML development (the boss thru me in the deep end this is my first document)   I am  stuck trying to create a troubleshooting procedure (tswp)  type "Method A" IAW 40051-2b. Nothing I do seems to produce the output that the contract requires.  I have attached a PDF shown what tags I am using ( first two pages) followed by the generated "output"  and the final page is what the content should be.I am unsure why the procedure steps re- start again every time a new block starts.  According to the reference manual the steps should be shown as 1 thru to XX  without restarting again.Any guidance / help from you gurus will be greatly appreciated.XML DTD and and XSL's  are US Gov (Army) provided  Version 5  and MIL- STD  is 40051-2B   (That's what the contract calls for)   I know there are issues with this version of  styles sheets etc. Cheers

Hello! For several months now I have been working with IsoDraw. Sometimes I have the situation that I have to delete a line for a drawing and for example, behind the line, there is an ellipse. The contour of the ellipse is then not closed. Is there a command to close the contour, or two lines to hand its course to Combine?Sorry, for my bad English and thank you for your help!

Hi,A few months ago, I used ISODRAW 7.0 and i could move the elements of my draw without using the "move" tool (Ctrl + M) .... doing that with the arrows of the keyboard only (or maybe Ctrl + arrows / Do not remember exactly) ...But today, impossible to move the elements like that!I searched on internet and on parameters but found nothing!Do somebody have a solutions to activate the possibility to move elements just with the arrows. (Without using the tool "move")?Thanks

Where can I get a list of commands users can run from the command line? Like dt (delete tag) and it (insert tag), etc.Our administrator has changed our help tag to an in-house set of instructions, and we don't have a list of available commands, like mt for modify tag, or find, etc.Thanks.

I am trying to figure out how to open a Creo file that is in Windchill straight into ISODraw. I have Work Group Manager installed and communicating with both Windchill and ISODraw, but when I select open in ISODraw and the Windchill button in the WGM no Creo files are displayed. If I navigate in the WGM to a folder on my computer Creo files are displayed and can be opened (imported).I've searched the help and knowledge base, but found nothing.Thanks in advanceDavid.

My document Edit view has many headings that are in German when I am working in English. I have added new categories and values in a new ditaval file using the Arbortext ditaval editor in v7. After having completed this task, I fully expected to see the new categories and values appear as options in the Apply Profiles dialog box. They did not appear and therefore I was not able to apply those values. Consequently I looked into this matter further and noticed that the .pcf file may need to be modified and so on. I work at a place I do not have access to the ditabase and .pcf files. The tools person is rather inexperienced and told me that the implementation of the new categories and calues in a ditaval file require specialization and changes in the DTD and thus requires a lot of work.Although I am somewhat technical, I am not as familiar with the implementation of profiles in the Arbortext Editor, I was surprised to hear that DTD changes are required. Can someone please let me know at a very high level what is required to make the newly-added profiles in a ditaval appear as

Since Arbortext Editor 7.0 upgraded to JAVA 1.8 which does not support odbc:jdbc bridges datamerge has been deprecated. I am wondering what kind of solutions anyone has found in terms of a workaround to use datamerge queries and databases that were set up and working with previous versions of arbortext editor? I attempted switching editor back to a JAVA 1.7 that still supports odbc:jdbc and seemed sucessful in getting Editor to load with 1.7 but have still not been able to get a datamerge to function, not even on the demo.

We have an issue with the Figures list not showing the thumbnail images for one particular user. None of our other users have this problem. Could there be a setting somewhere that is flipped, or a bug? If he opens a .c3di created by someone else, he will get a temporary glimpse of the images, but then they disappear as soon as he starts working. You can imagine the frustration of determining the image you need when you have to click through them all the time. Version 3.1 M010 build 27.Thanks guys for any input.

In Arbortext Editor Release 6.0 r60m070In a table with a single column, selecting multiple rows and trying to delete the multiple rows results in only a single row being deleted.The problem can be verified as follows: 1. Create a New Topic. 2. Add a table with 5 rows and 1 column. 3. Select the bottom 3 rows. 4. Right click and from the Delete option select Row. We are currently using Arbortext for 36 localized languages and adding another 16 in the next coming months bringing the total to 52 languages. Out of the 52 languages there are 17 that are not supported. What are PTCs plans to add support to any of these languages?
