Hi ExpertsI have just started to work with Arbortext software and am having some trouble. In attempt to set up the dynamic publishing system, I have Completed Installing Arbortext Editor, PE, and ACM. Also,have sucessfuly connected Arbortext Editor to PE. Now, I am using Publishing engine with arbortext editor to publish document. My problem is I am not able to use custom stylesheet while publishing. How to use custom .style stylesheet for publishing? Publishing engine always use the default style sheet to publish. As a work around I am replacing default stylesheet with custom. I read the discussion bellow with the same issue, but I couldn't understand the solutions discussed. Using custom stylesheet while publishing using publishing enginePlease help me to understand.Thanks in Advance.

I have been upgrading our users to Arbortext Editor v6.1 M050 and several users have reported the following problems:1. When entering text in the edit window, all of the text in the edit window will disappear for a several seconds and then reappear. For some users this is happening each time they enter text in the edit window.2. When the user touches any key, the cursor changes to the blue spinning circle and there is a delay in the newly keyed text appearing in the edit window. As the user types they keep seeing the blue spinning circle and periodically the edit window goes blank for a few seconds.I had this upgrade installed on my PC for a month and experienced none of these problems. Has anyone experienced or heard about such problems? This is the second time I'm requesting for a trial version, and I'm getting the same message that my host id is invalid.The first time I've requested was ~4 months ago and I get trial license within 3 days agter my requisition. Am I going to receive a trial license for this time?I also wrote an email to -', though I don't get any reply yet.I'm looking for an easy and appropriate way to request Arbortext licenses. Version: Arbortext Editor 5.4 M110Background:I'm writing an ACL tool that will allow the end-user to make changes to the FOSI currently loaded in the "edit" window.A copy of the current FOSI is modified, renamed and loaded to the "current_doc" edit window with "set stylesheet=". (works as designed).New to Arbortext Editor programming environmentDetails:If the end-user wants to apply additional changes by running the tool multiple time on the same document during the same open document sessions, the changes are not realized after "set stylesheet=" is applied.The new "renamed" FOS file is in a predefined path and is named a predefined name so both path and name will not change no matter how many time the tool is run.There is no style sheet association applied to the document.Comments:Tried to clean the cache with "doc_clean_cache" & "clean_cache" - no effect.Played around with "doc_delete_stylesheet_association" - no effectIf someone could point me in the right direction it would be

Arbortext Editor 5.4 M110Background:Menu customization is implemented using ACL and loaded at runtime from the [editor root]\custom\editinit\ folder. The menus are not visible unless a document with the designated doctype is opened.I am new to Arbortext Editor development.Context:Attempting to write ACL service that will allow content authors to change the FOSI style sheet form the current document "edit" window.Using the ACL command "set stylesheet=fosiname.fos"Issue:When the "set stylesheet" command it initiated, the custom menus are removed.Any idea what is happening? Or what I need to do to reload the menus?Thank you in advance

We have translated a manual to Russian. Everything seems to be good, except the index still has A, B, C showing up. When I created the xliff file I did not see the option in there to change the letters? Am I missing something?Bryon

I have a user that when they zoom IN to a graphic the screen background will go black. He had this problem previously when we were running IsoDraw 7.1. We have now upgraded to 7.3 F000 and the problem has returned. We have tried the fix listed below but it does not seem to do the trick this time;Description:CGM graphics viewed in Internet Explorer using IsoView display as white graphics against a black background. This happens in NSIV and when CGMs are viewed from the CSDB.Resolution:Navigate to the following location: C:\Users\<user id>\AppData\Roaming\PTC\IsoDraw\PreferencesIf the AppData folder is not visible, the folder options to view hidden folders/files must be set. See process at bottom entitled “View Hidden Folders”Locate the file IsoView 7.2 Preferences.prf or IsoView 7.1 Preferences.prf. If you have both files the following process will need to be applied to both files.Right click on the IsoView preference file (IsoView 7.2 Preferences.prf/IsoView 7.1 Preferences.prf).

Can anyone tell me how IsoDraw keeps up with the AUTOID numbers? Also is there a way to customize this number?

I am trying to create a macro that will search through my drawing the select all the pens and set the color to black. The pen names vary from drawing to drawing and that is were I am having difficulty. I am able to change the pen color if I know the exact name, but that is not always the case. I need the macro to seach all pens reguardless of the name and change the color.Thanks for any help you can give me!

I am delving into the creation of custom line types for our company. I have created a few using just the default line types and modifying them, now I am wanting to really get into the nuts and bolts. To start simple I see in pen styles there are Start Marks and End Marks. Looking through the on-line help I see they are assigned an integer from 0 - 46 with 0 = no mark. However there is no listing of what the other options are like 1 - 46. Where can I find where and how these are defined?Keith HowardNorthrop Grumman

Dear community,we would like to use an xsl-transformation script over the opened document in Arbortext Editor 6.1. For this we tried to define a shortcut in acl which calls the xsl-transformation.Unfortunately we cannot find any command or an useful article in the helpcenter for this. We think this is maybe possible with the use of acl with javascript. Does anybody from you have experience about xslt in arbortext editor 6.1 with acl/javascript?Thank you a lot in advance.

We have upgraded to AE 6.1 and one of the new options available is when we check in an object, we can now choose to remove objects from the workspace. This new option is NOT working. We get the following message: [A11480] Attempt to implicitly declare variable "object_string" (at line 306 of file C:\Program Files\PTC\Arbortext Editor_61\adapters\com.ptc.prowt.arbortext\init\wcutil.acl"). The object is checked into Windchill, however, the objects remain in the workspace. I've tried setting a parameter in the userprefs.xml file.Any other suggestions?

Since upgrading from AE 6.0 to AE 6.1 we have noticed that when cleaning the Windchill workspace the objects are not removed from the AE 6.1 browser workspace. The objects remain listed under the workspace name. We have to go into the browser and select "clean workspace". It appears that the both Windchill workspaces and AE 6.1 are no longer in sync. If The users do not clean the AE 6.1 workspace, they receive the following message when they try to check out an object. "The currently active workspace contains an out of date version of the document that you requested to open. Do you want to open the out-of-date version in the workspace?" Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there a solution?

Another configuration question for day.Many of the table properties insert PIs. Is there a way to redirect these to populate attribute values instead?Thanks!

Does anyone have suggestions on the best training for Arbortext Styler for two individuals in our organization?

I have a doc made up of chapters that require individual LOEPs and Total Page count on the first page of each chapter. For some reason, these are only working correctly when the chapter has only recto and verso pages. If a chapter has any blank page in it, the total page count does not increment correctly and the blank pages don't show up in the leop. EXCEPT for the last chapter in the doc which works correctly. That's got to be a clue to what I'm doing wrong!but I just can't find the error.I've got two page total counters:<counter initial="0" enumid="totalpagect"> <counter initial="0" enumid="chpagect">The totalpagect for the doc is always correct and the frontmatter leop is working fine. I have these page counters incrementing in all the pages in the body pageset including the blank page.I am using a TIV in each page to capture the loep information for each chapter:<savetext textid="chlep.tiv" conrule="<newline">,folio[BO],dotfill,1pi,</newline>" placem

We want to include the table of contents as an item in the bookmarks of a pdf file.Since we do not want the TOC to appear in the TOC itself, we're trying this:Our approach is to have 2 TOCs in styler. The first generates the actual TOC in the pdf, just as usual. The second one is only there to create the bookmarks in the pdf. Both TOCs are almost identical regarding the content, with the second one including an additional item: the TOC.But how to include the TOC (or any other dynamically generated content, that's not a title) into the TOC? We're working with DITA 1.2.

We noticed after installing AE 6.1 that the users are experiencing slow processing speed. Specifically when accessing CTRL + D (attributes window). To resolve this issue we remove the .wcf file from the folder C:\users\username\AppData\Roaming\PTC\Abortext Editor. Close AE 6.1 and then relaunch. My question is...does anyone have an explanation as to why this happens? Or, is there a way to resolve it other than what we have done above?
