When in 3D all components are separate, when you convert to 2d it becomes one image? I can ungroup untill they are free, but I loose the conection to the cad model. Can I convert to 2D and still have the components as individual components?Bryon
Ok gang I could have sworn I had these two (2) macros working before, but I am having no joy now.The macros intention is to determine the size of a graphic and then display that information. This is used so I can get "CGM" graphic sizes to pass on to our "SGML" programmers.Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I would also like to use this as a starting point to develop a macro to scale a graphic up or down to fit to a particular page size.I am using IsoDraw 7.3 F000Keith
Does anyone know how to change the tag display size in Arbortext Editor? A teammate has somehow made her tag display size very large and is not sure how to set it back to normal size? Thanks for your help!
Hi all,I would like to create a macro to reimport the text (with Object ID) present in an XML file into a .iso file.My knowledge of IML is very basic (but at the end I manage to create a macro to apply the ID and export into XML ).Please have a look at the attached and let me know if somebody out there can help me?Thank you in advanceMax
Is it possible for a macro written in 7.2 to work in 7.1? I have written macros in 7.2 but I am now working on a system with 7.1(don't ask long story). some of the simple macros will run but on some of the more involved macros I get errors and the macro stops. Here is one of the errors I am receiving;Any help would be appreciated. I think this is a compatibility issue and I am going have to work to get back to at least 7.2 if not 7.3.Thanks,Keith

I have a simple question for the group before I report a possible bug in6.1.I was 'publishing' a large file using the print composer in Epic Editor('Publish>PDF File'). The file has fifty or so graphics that are EPS files,NONE of them are displaying. When I do the same thing with Epic 6.0 the EPSfiles are now processed and display properly in the PDF output. I also have had an issue with GIF display and processing with 6.1. I onlyhave one GIF but it goes on the cover page so its absence is noticed. InEpic Editor, the GIF does not display BUT there is space allocated for thegraphic (unlike when Epic cannot find a graphic and we just see an iconsaying file not allowed or not found). Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so what was the remedy. Ifno one has seen this, then I'll report it as a bug to PTC.Many thanks.Lynn
I'm sure this should be easy, but I don't know how to do it. I have a global string variable that's always a 2 digit number. I used it previously to build up a string filename. Now though, I use the same variables in a macro that has to do a calculation with it. Of course as a string it won't calculate.I don't want to change my old macros that use the variable as a string, so is there a function to change it to a float temporarily for the calculation? In my old ME10 macro language you could just do this:calc_var = ((val date_var) + 1)date_var is a string variable, but the "val" command read it as an number for the pruposes of the calculation whilst leaving the variable as a string.Anyone know?
Ed, I have tried Print Preview and the graphics are not displayed there either. I'll do some more troubleshooting, but right now I am running things with6.0 and things are working fine. Thanks compadre. Lynn
I am just wondering what experience others have had with respect to the default Arbortext file associations. Background: In our environment we have 1 styler license and many editor licenses. For some reason, when you install Arbortext with Styler, and then double-click to open a .xml file, Arbortext defaults to opening with styler enabled. This means that we have to either:Train users to open Arbortext first then open the fileInstall Arbortext without styler for most users - but that has caused some issues with RTF production and some MathFlow integration as the menus are differentOr some type of registry hack to force the association to open editor without styler. (obvuiously this is not popular in an environment where there are over 70 clients in use. What do others do to cope with this? or Is there something simple I am missing when installing Arbortext where we can configure the mode in which it launches? Thanks,Rob.
I have what is probably a simple question that has me stumped. I am working on a macro that resizes my drawing size and then resizes the elements to fit in the new drawing. I then want to export the file out to a CGM file. I do not want to add the filename manually, I want to be able to put the ActiveDoc.name in the command "EXPORT". What I need help with is how do I have the "Path" portion of the EXPORT command use the ActiveDoc.name in the path? Thanks for any help,Keith
Arbortext Community,I am having an issue with isoview on a specific computer. The aircraft maintenance manuals we use use arbortext isoview to display the wiring diagrams. on this one computer, the wiring diagrams on the print outs are fuzz/illegible. It's only on this one computer, and it doesn't matter to which printer I print to. I've uninstalled and reinstalled our copy of isoview as well, but to no avail. Is there anything else that might help? Thanks,Travis
When opening Arbortext Editor 5.3 M020, this message appears:Dialog title: Invalid Schema/DTD file. Dialog text: [A15001] Unable to load document type due to errors parsing XML schema: + file path of the schema file (xliff.xsd). Choose: 1) Browse for Schema/DTD; 2) Open in free-form mode without Schema/DTD; 3) Open as text If option 1 is chosen, the same message is shown again and again even after having browsed for the xliff.xsd file.If option 2 is chosen, Arbortext Editor opens, but some functionalities don’t work: preferences window doesn’t show, it’s impossible to insert tables or notes, and so on. Oddly, documents are normally validated. In arbortext.wcf file the Entities and Doctypes repositories are well addressed. It seems Arbortext Editor sees DTDs, so I don’t understand why the error message appears and why some functions don’t work. I’ve already uninstalled and reinstalled the program, without any results. Any idea?Sonia
Hi Everybody! There is any way to I retrieve the tag's value and assigning it to a variable? Actually, I've a xpath tag and I need to get its value. The tag is this:<_gte:XPathString expr='_acl:eval(\"$ENV['Test']\")'></_gte:XPathString>
I am working in the preference file trying to establish a standard preference file so all the users see the same thing and our illustrations all look the same. What I would like to do is add a separator line in the preference file. Example if you look at the Pens dialog box you see the separator line below "Center line". I would like to add other separator lies to break up groups but I do not see where these are generated in the preference file. Does anyone how to generate these? Thanks,Keith Howard
Hi Chaps, When saving an XML, the !DOCTYPE and also some element attributes are removed. Is there a setting in Preferences > Advanced, to stop this occuring? Thanks in advance,Samuel
My customer is looking for some guidance around a procedure to either cluster PE Servers or Load Balance them. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!Maria
Hi all,I need to use a acl code inside the APP code, and save the informations that the ACL retrieves in a variable.
Hi Chaps, I'm a newbie to Abortext (with Styler 6.1) and learning as I go, and as such have a few questions, so starting with this one:When Saving an XML, simply opening a file, then Save As, the XML is breaking an element/line, rather than maintaining the original format:Start:Abortext 6.1 view:After (Save as) - Notice the break at Line 5 / 6- Abortext also adds it's stamp (Line 2), can this be turned off?
Hello all,Maybe this a very basic question, but I can't find the way to solve it...I'm working with some XML files that are composed of dozens of xml files referenced as href atts:Intead of beig referenced as entities. What should I do in Arbortext 6 to make them editable from the editor? That is, how can I make the content of the XML file referenced shown in the editor and how can I make to click on it to edit it, (more or less the way It would happen if they were files entities). Thanks!Gabriel Oreggioni
Hi everybody,I'm using Arbortext 5.2 and Windows NT.I have some formula graphics linked into our texts, but they're displayed too small. Is there a way to magnify these graphics?I know, that I possibly could add some scaling attributes to my doctype and to configure them in the associated .dcf file. But since it is "only" an Arbortext-display-problem, I was thinking of a less DTD-contaminating solution, maybe via FOSI?Every idea would be appreciated, best regards,Ulrike Schaper.
I am working on a S1000D IPD DM entering part numbers for a parts list. I'm using Epic 5.3 on a Windows 7 machine. All is well until I get to a certain point in the file. I can add elements and save the file and Epic never complains, but as soon as I close the file and try to re-open it, I get the following two errors and then Epic quits.[A17120] Assertion failed: size < TXF_MARK, file ..\src\stortxt.c, line 531and thenepic:abort (signal 22)If I use a text editor to open the xml file and truncate it down to a certain point (around item 104), I can reopen the file, but as soon as I try to add one more tag and save it, then the file is toast again. It's like I can only put in 104 of the 139 part numbers I need to type. Granted, there's a lot of tags involved with the IPD, but the file size is only 143kb.Has anyone anyone seen this?KM
Good day Community! Please forgive me if this is a question that's covered already. I did my due diligence and looked for it but I couldn't find anything that seemed to match my particular problem.I've been using IsoDraw on and off for years but only now is my employer moving towards making it our primary illustration software.Right away, I'm noticing an issue that I anticipate will be a headache if I don't get it resolved sooner rather than later.Whenever I drag anything around on the drawing surface (holding the mouse button to drag a line, elipse, move objects, etc.), after about 5 seconds, the display appears to lock up even though it's not really locked up. Once I let go of the mouse button, all is well with the exception of whatever I was doing may or may not have executed exactly where I wanted it to.Is this a problem with the software or perhaps my system needs some beefing up? Here are my specs:Windows 7 ProfessionalService Pack 1Model: HP ProDesk 600 G1 TWRProcessor: Intel(R)
