It seems to be related to files with an additional .dot. in the name, like artist.song.mp3 or similar. Spekan seems to be looking for allfiles with two periods in the name, assuming they are Pro/E files andappending a .1 to the file name. Doug Schaefer
It turns out there is a standard icon that will toggle the reference dimensions! It's called Annotation Element Display. If it is not on your menu, it is under the VIEW section when go into to customize your icons. Thanks to Tony for this information.Doug[cid:image001.png@01CBFF6B.61DCB970]
Sorry for the off topic question.Anyone know if Creo Elements Direct has to be installed on the local system, or can it be installed on a network drive like ProE.In other words, is it dependent on registry entrys, dlls, and paths installed on the computer to run.David HaighPhone: 925-424-3931Fax: 925-423-7496Lawrence Livermore National Lab7000 East Ave, L-362Livermore, CA 94550
When our engineers move Pro/E files out from a classified (off network) room, they are required to interogate the files to ensure that classified information is not present. This is simply done with a text editor. In some model files, we are finding mystery references to other files that should not exist. We suspect that there was an external reference at one time which was eventually deleted. We confirmed that there were no external references with : Info > Global Reference Viewer.Yet, we still see something in the file that needs to be removed. We tried using a text editor to delete or replace the reference, but this caused Pro/E to fail to open the files afterward.Pro/E stated that the files were corrupt, and attempted to repair them, but failed. We need to "cleanse" these files.Any advice?Gerry
Hello to all :- can i know the output velocity of a gear box if I have designed that properly and how I can do that Thanks
There is an option to show dual dimensions but I do not remember it. Also there is an sentence that you type into the options box to get a listing of all of the options available in ProE, can you help me with this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
As it is possible to display in a graphic window (in a mode 3D) the following information: the geometrical values together with parametres corresponding to them. For example: d1 = 500 mm?
Hello -I am tasked with maintaining a large number of ProE files on a network drive folder as I await IT assitance in migrating to our PDM. Can anyone suggesta good 3rd party tool that purges/archives previous versions of the files in order to keep the network folder manageable in size?Thank you - Brian

I have lettering made with sketcher and used as a palette to make raised lettering. Is there a way to make a font out of those sketches and just add the font to the list. Sure would make life easier. Any help would be great.
Looking for Creo 1.0.....
Does anyone know if there is a way to set up your File/Open to default in the "Seach" cell in the upper RH Corner? I tried creating a mapkey but it still doesn't stick in the cell. Note, I am using WF4.
I'm trying to create a relations in my model that is determined by whether it's metric or inch. I've been unable to find the parameter that reports if the model is metric or inch. I have a call into PTC, but they have not called me back, so I'm turning to the experts. Is there a parameter in the model that states the units of the model, if not is there a way to get that in other ways? Thanks in advance,Mike HeathCarpe Diem,"Happiness equals reality minus expectations"Michael HeathSchlumberger Reservoir Completions14910 Airline Rd.Rosharon, TX 77583
HelloHas anyone used this Graphics card?If you have what kind of experience haveyou had with WF4 & WF5ThanksJoe
Hi all, i have been trying to figure out how to write a relation without much success. I have a right angle triangle with an adjacent length of 212.57mm & an opposite length of 16.93mm, how do i write a relation to solve the tan angle value. I can calculate this on my calculator, 16.93 divided by 212.57 tan-1, but i can't figure out how to get tan-1.RegardsJohn
Wow, lot's of replies to this one. Thanks to everybody who replied. Here are the suggestions I got1) upgrade your NVIDIA driver to the newest one. - tried it, didn'twork2) Disable NView. - tried it, didn't work3) In the NVidia control panel, set "Multi-display/mixed-GPUacceleration" to "Multi-display performance mode" - it already was4) Perhaps using two monitors with the same resolution will resolve it?5) Perhaps using two identical monitors will resolve it.6) Get one big 30" screen! 7) Set open_draw_simp_rep_by_default to "NO" - already was (the senderadmitted this one was "from left field" and might not do anything, but ithad fixed some similar issues in the past😎 Upgrade to WF4 - some users had the issue in WF3 (which we're on) butit went away in WF4.9) It might just be an issue with the card - some of the NVidia cardsare great with one monitor, but don't handle two well. I think my solution will be to just live with it for now, and hope thatmaybe if we upgrade to WF4 or 5 someday
The picks for full (unfold) and full (aligned) are grayed out. I have a offset cross section that about a 170 degree pie slice.David HaighPhone: 925-424-3931Fax: 925-423-7496Lawrence Livermore National Lab7000 East Ave, L-362Livermore, CA 94550

Does anyone know how Pro calculates the drill and tapped depth of a hole? I am putting a M16 tap into a steel plate. A M16 x 1 gives a tapped depth of 36 and a drill depth of 45, M16 x 1.5 gives a tapped depth of 34.8 and a drill depth of 43.5 and a M16 x 2 gives a tapped depth of 33.6 and a drill depth of 42.Obviously there is a relation depending on the pitch used. With steel, a tapped depth of 1.5 x the nominal will work. How much more to add for the drill depth?WF4Thanks
