I am doing a analysis in Mechanica with multiple loads. Instead of applying loads to certain surfaces I would like to make a dummy solid block to represent components and apply a mass to it with gravity being the only force on it. Does anyone know how to do this? I have been playing around with gravity loads and masses but it isn't working quite right. Thanks! -Ryan

Hello Pro gurus, Do we have any work around to be able to open WF4 proe files in Proe2001or WF2? Thanks in advance for your responses. Lakshman
We have Pro/E (WF2 M280) installed on a Windows server. We map a drive to this share and run Pro/E (and other PTC apps) from this mapped drive. In the last few months, we have been experiencing occasional periods of time where Pro/E will hang at the splash screen. This phenomenon lasts for 30 - 90 minutes.During this period, anyone who tries to launch Pro/E will experience the same hang. When whatever is blocking the launch free itself, all of the attempted launches of Pro/E will complete. If we attempt to launch a different version of Pro/E (WF4, WF2 M220, ??) these versions will launch. Users who already have Pro/E launched are unaffected.I have checked event logs on the server and clients. I checked the task manager on the server and clients. I can find nothing.Has anyone seen this problem? Any solutions?Thank you,Joe HainesEngineering SystemsCNH America LLC500 Diller AveMS 640New Holland, PA 17557-<">mailto:->Desk (717) 355-3699Cell (717) 371-3471FX (717) 355-4091

Hey there,Looking for more information on what exactly clearing the Server Cache in Pro/E does. Are new and modified parts that have not been uploaded or checked in safe? How often should it be cleared?Any best practices concerning the cache that you use? From the help files:
To Clear the Cache
Click Tools > Server Registry. The Server Registry dialog box opens.Click the Cache tab. The Cache tabbed page opens.Click Clear. The cache for all of your workspaces is deleted.(See attached screenshot for what I am referring to)

Hello, This is off topic, but I am looking for advice. I have a presentation togive at an Inventors Network tonight. I have a prototype, and of course Ican bring my laptop containing the CAD files, although I do not know if thatis necessary. The prototype is a consumer goods / house-wares product (with provisionalpatent & trademark), and I am wondering how other people have presented inthe past at similar functions. What do you think the flow or outline of thepresentation should be? Not sure if I want to spend much time of the CADaspect as fooling around with a laptop could be distracting to the audience. Mostly, I am interested in an outline of the steps one should go throughwhen presenting a product to the audience at an Inventors Network. Chris
I am looking for any site from where I can download the open wrench pro/e model. Size 12X 13 mm and 140 long. Singh.

Hi all, I'm adding a parameter to my model, I name it, set it to a YES_NO, enter the value (as yes), but can somebody please tell me what the "designate" tick box is all about. Thanks.
Hello, I am not able to edit the placement of the sketch. No dialog box opens when you select "edit" of the internal sketch, directly goes to the sketcher for editing the sketch. This happens for sketch curves also.
This is a request for my friends at Caterpillar or the ProE User Community.I need the outer geometry of a CATERPILLAR 3512B marine engine.Do any of you have a 3D model of this engine? Thanks in advance.Ronnie Shand
If I was to want to clear out the cache for a Ilink 8 client, what files/folders would I delete?
Can productview open UG, Solidworks and CATIA files or can it just open ProE files?
Good morning all, Please take a look at the attachment. Has anyone out there gotten the error? I thought I had this fixed and all was good for several weeks but it popped up again this week. In most cases the user only needs to select NO on the "Do you want to switch to offline mode?" and then click on the OK button on the next pop-up. A select few need to end task for Pro/E which takes them totally out of the PDMLink and the session in their workspace. This issue comes up only after starting a session of Pro/E logged into PDM workspace. If you had gotten this issue, what did you do to correct it? Hi, sorry I didnt no where to post this. I was wondering if some one could please make a metal drawer rolling runner. It just needs to be the basics of it, not looking for it to be 10/10 as long as you can tell what it is. here is some links to some pitcures. http://i.ehow.com/images/GlobalPhoto/Articles/4811298/126538_Full.jpg http://www.made-in-china.com/image/2f0j00uoaTLBQrBtgCM/Drawer-Runner-Drawer-Slide-Bottom-Self-closing-SBD-04-.jpg http://www.albionextrusions.co.uk/acatalog/runners_bottom_fix_metal_drawer.jpg http://www.made-in-china.com/image/2f0j00jeAaELGJCTkBM/FGV-Drawer-Runner.jpg http://www.albionextrusions.co.uk/acatalog/Drawer_runners.html Or you can find simplier ones by googling them on google images or in the search bar Please can some one make any of the simplest kinds of metal drawer rolling runners? It doesnt have to be fancy. Like instead of make a edge curve you can just make it straight. As long as it shows the rolling wheel though. Please?
