We are a small company with 2 seats and I want to know how to share/manage files between two engineers. There is one common folder with all the files how can one engineer work on one file without the other one working on it? or how dose the other know he is working on it? Exsample on an Excell spread sheet if have a file open and someone else tries to open the same sreadsheet it tells you "read only"

Where may I find a Library for Hydraulic Symbols.

The story thus far:No way to do this.  As one person put it, Proe seems to look up for the model name, the assy in my case, and then down for the component ID, 41 in my case.Another suggestion by a couple of people was to open the file in a text editor and look for it there.  I tried and couldn't find anything.I did send the file to tech support and they said "As per current functionality, it is not possible".  I've pushed back and asked if maybe their developers have tools outside "current functionality" that might get me a file name, but haven't heard anything.A bit of clarification: I'm not interested in fixing the broken references, only finding the master model so I can see how it was built in order to develop a new version.Thanks, I'll update again if I learn anything new.--

HIFor a special application I need to save files without version number.In other words, I'd like to save always overwriting the same file. (filename.prt - without .#)Ex- PRT0001.prt instead of PRT0001.prt.1

Has anyone attempted to run ProductView Professional 8 (yes ... 8, which is more than five years old and no longer supported) on Windows 7? If so then what were the results? Thanks in advance.

I've got a user that has the popup dialog boxes appearing in random places. We are using Wildfire 4.0, M220. One example is the Constraints dialog box in the sketcher, it will show up in the upper right (this is what I consider "normal"). And then the next time it will pop up on the other monitor, in the upper left, and then the next time in the upper right, then in a completely different place, the middle of the primary monitor, etc...Any ideas on how to get this behavior consistent?Thanks,Derek

I got a model from someone. It was spur gear model.Relations were used in it.It was total calculation including addendum, deddundam kind of thing.In that model the gear curves were created through equation.I didn't get the equation but knew little about the relations.How to create curve through equation?

My company is currently running Creo 2.0 M040, I am considering updating us to M070, but I have been seeing some negative things on the forum about the updates. I would like to get the thoughts of a few people that have installed M070. What can I expect with the update? Is it worth updating at this point?

Is anyone else seeing what I'm seeing?  All of my ptcuser emails -regardless of what folder I have them sorted in or what list they are in -appear as TRASH  -I can't restore, and I can't reply 😞                                                                                                                                      &

I am using WF4 and want to use my Leap Motion controller with Pro/E. Has anyone tried this?I've checked the API info to see if I can write my own plugin, but this seems to be tricky.

Hi, I have downloaded the zip file of the University edition of Creo 1.0 and copied the file to a DVD from work since the workplace has a faster line. I then tried to extract the file from my home computer and i got the following message "The compressed (zipped) folder is invalid or corrupt". I then dowloaded the file to my home computer and after waiting until the download was complete I attempted to extract the files and got the same message.I am trying to submit my course work created in WF5 into Creo 1.0 that the instrutor requires to be submitted in.Anyone have any solutions as to why I am unable to extract the downloaded zip file from PTC?Best regards,Ricard

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I finally got the trail file silent install to work, but it took a call to support to figure it out.  I have tried this several times over the years and was never successful.What was far less than clear in the docs was that the ps_trl.txt.1 file is created, not in the folder where setup.exe resides, but in the folder where cmd.exe resides (C:\windows\system32).  Never would have guessed that and I'm not sure how others figured that out.  The docs seem to clearly indicate that it should be where "setup.exe" is, in my view.At any rate, I found the trail file and was able to install via the -uitrail switch.  For WF4 I couldn't install both the application and then the help files at one time, I had to create two trail files.  Other than that it seems to be working fine.  The real test will be when I roll out the software to everyone.Thanks--

All,On WF5. I can understand why they isolated selection via tabs. However - how do you select all (like a dxf)? I have to be in a particular tab....and it will only pick the type that I am in. I am guess "group" is going to be the consensus?WayneF
