Creo+ and Creo Parametric

As the title says, when I'm in a Simp Rep of a part, I cannot edit any features or move the insert line / rollback bar. Is this... normal? Surely Creo doesn't only allow features to be edited in the Master Rep, right? That would be a complete mess to work with. 

Hi everyone, Teaching myself how to pipe in Creo but having some difficulties with adding elbows. I keep having an issue with, "the fitting does not match to selected corner. Can not place.".  In this case, I'm trying to use PTCs fittings library. I've tried a few different diameters on the pipe, as that is what I thought was the issue the first time, but it hasn't resolved. Image below for reference.  Extra information:- Creo 9- Have tried other sizes- Have tried in both MM and inches Thank you!

is there any way to create Flare at the tube ends in Creo piping module? please suggest. I'm creating the new copper tube which requires Flare at the end. I was trying to add revolve feature but couldn't do it since it is in assembly mode - Refer the attached image.

This strange text field keeps popping up when I accidentally hit a non-mapped key on my keyboard, and until I hit "enter" to clear this text field, none of my hotkeys work because they just keep being typed as letters into this text field. Is there any way to disable this text field so it doesn't impede my hotkeys? I'm using Creo 9, but this happened in Creo 8 and Creo 7 as well.       

I am using Creo Parametric Release 9.0 and Datecode9.0.0.0I have a colleague, that runs Creo parametric version 9.0 on a Dell precision 3640, but creo will maybe crash 4-5 times a day with little to no warning, minus the not responding ciricle from windows. We went through the complete uninstallation and reinstallation multiple times, and even led to wiping the computer to try solve the issue. We removed any other applications that could have been affecting performance. The pc is also connected to 2 27 inch monitors displaying 2560 x 1600 resolution, but the issue still remained.If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be happy to hear, thank you.

When editing a part in a assembly, it becomes very difficult to see the part that is toggled off. I'm using Creo 10I've tried playing around with the system appearance settings, but I just can't find it. If there is an option to change the opacity at all. Having the part view stay in its original view would be ok too.Any help is appreciated.  

Hi, I am using reference patterns to pattern the bolt groups in my assembly. The first reference pattern is great and everything generates as expected. See pictures attached for details. The next reference pattern of the two socket head cap screws is a bit weird since the instance dots in the feature menu show the second instance being in the wrong location. Upon generation, it appears in the correct location but it is unsettling. The third reference pattern (four bolts) shows the instance dots in the right location in the feature menu, but upon generation, only the washer is in the correct position. The bolt, nut side washer, and nut seem to locate themselves at the first instance location. It is really weird because I have the bolt group constrained the same way as the first bolt pattern in my model tree which worked fine. Any thoughts on how I can resolve this? TIA

I am trying to setup custom configurations and parts, different profiles in advance framework extension. I dont want to show any standard profiles available in default folder in PTC commen files.  I added my local folder address in Library_path configuration setting as per image below.But , i still see all default profiles and connectors in AFX extension. Is there any way to have custom library folder with all custom files only and nothing from default Creo installation folders ? I am trying to set it up on some shared drive for my team and i am on Creo 8 and Creo 10 versions.

I have a part that I have set up with a gyroid lattice, but when I export it as a .IGES, only the shell of the part is exported. For background:The formula driven lattices do not create a solid geometry feature like the other lattice types, this means that it cannot be export (also means it is not included in any analysis like volume or weight). I was wondering if anyone knew how to make a solid geometry out of a formula driven lattice or if there was a way to export it regardless. I am using the student version of creo 9.0.

Want to submit an enchancement to add "Last Saved Date" and "Last Saved By" columns to the View Manager for the Simplified Reps Tab. They will help engineers see who and when Simplified Reps were last saved and not have to put that info in the Simplified Rep Name.

I know this issue existed back in Creo 2.0 because I've used the recommended work arounds in CS193596 to get a cross section to update. However, it appears to be broken worse in Creo 7.0. I have spent all morning trying to get a harness created with cabling to show up in the cross section but absolutely nothing works. I have tried creating new sections and new views in the drawing but nothing updates. Anyone have any recommendations on how to get the harness to show up in the cross section?

Apparently, the geometry of a standard hole countersink is incorrect on a curved or round surface. The size I enter (which becomes its callout on a drawing) becomes the major dia of the resulting ellipse - but the countersink is to be measured across it's minor dia (ASME Y14.5-2018 4.5.13). I didn't pay much attention, but now with 3D printing and other rapid prototypes - it has become a problem: the actual physical countersink is too small. Is there an easy method or fix other than creating a plane and modeling a revolved cut in the correct orientation?

Hi all, OK, so I have a simplified rep, and I now have some welds showing.  (Floating in space)..  The parts these welds are attached to are both 'excluded' from my simplified rep, and 'quilts' are turned off.  Yet they now appear in my dwg / dwg view.  And I can't seem to turn them off.. The welds were added after the simplified rep was created, and also after we upgraded to Creo 9 (from Creo 3, not sure if that has anything to do with it..) But I have a dwg of some panels & their associated screws, and now I have some beefy welds floating around in the views.. Any ideas on how to remove them (and not do the 'erase line by line')

Hi all, Looking into a need where detailed construction drawing would sometimes be plotted to pdf on A1 and A2 size format by Worker, other times on A3 or A4. Going on paper size only is not a solution for differentiating contour line from the dimension line, as paper size can also be used for assemblies, etc. requiring other pen thicknesses. One suggestion is using different drawing format templates. Is there a way to connect format to specific pen table? Or any other smart solution someone already has arrived at? Pen table decides thickness.Pen table file can be pointed to in config.pro (if not storing in default location).Format neither calls for pen table, nor config.pro to be used.Pen table can also be selected in a plotter configuration file (pcf file)Only one pcf-file can be pointed to from the Recipe (.rcp)Would programmatic approach be needed (even possible to catch this?) on Windchill side in any way based on format? Using different Workers for differ

Hi, trying to understand how to get what I want.  While I have options, nothing seem to change when various option are chosen.. 1) I made a chain flange to have a nice flange about the 2 sides of an 'L' shape. It then makes the flange, and creates both a corner relief and a mitered cut.  If I choose "closed" I get a closed off corner, which is what I believe I want.  But it does give a bit of a weird shape on the flat pattern. It also gives a gap.  The end of the gap isn't really 'tangent' to the inside of the corner bend radius, which I would have expected. Now, if I have an open corner, the gap creates a little 'tooth' on each side of the mating mitered flange edges. (See mitered.jpg)  I then need to do an unbend / bend back with an extrusion cut to remove these "bits", and get a simple 45°cuts on the flat pattern.. (See miter 2 & miter 3.jpg..) 2) while I have options to vary the corner relief, nothing seems to change with option

Has anyone found a solution for making better welding symbols in Creo? The default symbols are STILL in Creo 10 just horrible.It seems that the symbol definitions don't support lines changing length automatically. So that results in either too long or too short elbows for the symbol.I think that is why the default symbol is defined with the maximum reasonable length of the weld note, which makes it useless when you want to just give a simple weld note:I found out that you can use grouping in symbol definition to hide or show parts of the elbow depending on whether the length of the weld and/or intermittency is enabled:But this solution does not work when the leader is on the other side, because you cant make the leader origin to change position depending on grouping:Has anyone managed to somehow create a GOOD welding symbol in Creo with modifiable elbow length?Or is the only solution to just create different symbols for different amounts of information: One symbol for simple note with
