Hi Sdurling! I'm very interested in learning how to create balloon symbols, but I'm not sure how to get started. Could you please provide some guidance or resources to help me understand the process better? I appreciate your assistance.
Hello all, Hope you are doing well..! I am facing a problem while opening creo since yesterday where a window is popping up. it is not allowing creo to start. see attachment. Cersion--> Creo 7 please help..! Br,Sandy
There is a circular face and I want to create a helical sweep (like a spring) from it. However, the origin circular face is angled such that it is not normal to the helical trajectory. Currently using Creo Parametric version 8.
We are in the process of testing Creo 8.0.0.0 and Windchill 12. My question is regarding sheet metal flat pattern representations and multi-user use thru Windchill. Our design team would like to design the formed configuration and put in the flat pattern rep. They check this into Windchill. Our drafting group would check out this model, do the detail drawing of the formed view, and then check these both back in. Modified parameters in the model used in the title block causes a change to the model and we're OK w/ this. At this point the Adv Mfg Eng team would like to pull out the formed design model and create a new drawing showing the flat pattern rep with the overall dimensions and the dimensions to the bend lines. These are created dimensions in the drawing only. Sheet 2 would be a 1:1 view for DXF output. In our testing, the act of creating a new drawing and creating dimensions in the drawing has caused a 'change' to the design mode
I've been working extensively in PTC Creo Parametric's sketching environment and wanted to share some thoughts on ensuring your 2D sketches are fully defined. Additionally, I'd like to seek your insights on managing weak dimensions, particularly when it comes to deleting or modifying them. #### Dealing with Weak Constraints and DimensionsI've been encountering an issue with weak constraints, particularly dimensions that Creo automatically sets. For example, I have a weak dimension set at 69.61, and I'm having trouble deleting it. I wish to set this dimension to 5, measuring from the top gray edge to the top yellow line.- **Is it possible to delete weak dimensions that Creo automatically sets?**- **How can I change this weak dimension to a strong one and set it to 5?**- **Is there a reference starting point for these weak dimensions that I should be aware of?**I appreciate any guidance or suggestions you can offer. Ensuring that sketches are fully constrained is crucial for a robus
Hi I want to use the values from a feature analysis that I have in a component in assembly. All feature analyses are suppressed when I insert the component into the assembly. Does anyone have an idea or a way to allow me to use the feature analysis values? Thanks,
The green line and the blue line are displayed together. I used the fixing move and changed the parts, but the line appears both before and after the move. I converted the file to STEP format, and the STEP file still shows the lines. I tried changing the layer tree, but both lines are on the same layer, so I couldn't delete one line. Please tell me how to delete the line.
The actual physical test is 7 mm and the Simulation Live analysis is 0.3 mm
I am using Creo 7.0. I have an assembly. I want to show the BOM position of a particular part in the drawing as a note. Can we extract that BOM position as a parameter in the drawing. So that whenever the position of that part change, it will be refreshed in the drawing too.
Hello I'm wondering if it's possible to change the dimension points that are automatically selected when starting a new 2d sketch on a part. That is, offsetting the given dimensions in a 2d sketch. simple example: I draw a rectangle on a profile in sketch mode and want to dimension it separately from the right and left sides. If someone understands my concern and knows how to fix it, I would be happy about an answer.
We are implementing some Modelcheck settings for multibody parts, primarily to enable generative topology optimization applications. I know that there is a Modelcheck test to determine if a given part has more than one body. Are there any other checking strategies that you folks would recommend to use for parts which have more than one body? Thanks in advance...Barry
As per this thread - same issue Same scenario for me.I found the parameter is created in a start file, after removing the relation am not able delete the parameter. Any solution??
I am trying to automate the model generation of an assembly using Creo Programming. I am able to get to the point where I can read a file with all the inputs and generate the model. But after reading the file, I have to regenerate the model several times (almost 6 to 8 times) to completely get the final assembly. I want to automate the regeneration process as well. I am pretty new to Creo programming and I wanted to know if it is at all possible to write something in the code which can auto-regenerate the model for me and will give me the final assembly right after importing the file. Thanks for your time in advance.
Hello I'm new to CREO. My company uses CREO 7.0 even though I believe latest is 9.0.. I want to download and install MathCAD Express to be used inside CREO. Will the latest version of MathCAD Express (I believe 9.0) work inside CREO 7.0? BTW I added this to Simulation since there was no specific MathCAD section. Thanks
Hello, In assembly is it possible to hide and unhide parts, layers etc. with formulas and parameters ? Thanks in advance
Hello, I know this has been discussed before but I’m hoping maybe someone can help me with my specific situation. I started working for my organization as an intern while in college, they happened to us Creo so naturally I downloaded a student version of Creo to work on projects. What came from my work as an intern was a product design that we submitted a patent for, it took a couple of years until they finally reached back out to me (I am now a full time employee with a fully licensed Creo 7 software) and they want to get more images and cross sections of the design. So we were able to find the designs however, it was from the student license and I am unable to open them. Is there any way that I can work around this problem just to pull up the designs? Or is there a way I can send these files to PTC to have them converted for me to work with this license? thank you for any help
Hi, I have a OTK dialog where I use pfsession->Select() for selecting entity from UI. I have button which when presessed, asks user for selection by ->select call. If user launches a new UI or press cancel, creo crashes. My investigation says, the selection object is leaking. Any help. Thanks
Hi all, today's question: How to pattern a pattern, and have it's associated parts follow.. the issue is this: I have a panel with a set of PEM studs. 12 studs make up the initial pattern. (A pattern of 12 holes on the sheet metal part for the PEM studs) I then want to repeat this Stud pattern a few times. SO, what I do is this:Create my holePattern itThen pattern the pattern Then in the assembly I constrain my PEM stud to the first hole, and patter in per 'reference'I am then stuck as to how to get the rest of the PEMs to follow the 2nd pattern. I seem to need to repeat this PEM placement & pattern for each subsequent hole pattern. Is there a better way to assemble this; so that the constrained part follows the pattern of the pattern?
When I add Connection Parameters that I want to have displayed in my Electrical Parameters Dialog box, they are saved for the whole creo session. When I close, and launch Creo again, I need to add them again.I tried saving my customization.ui file but unfortunately no joy.Is there a way to save this model tree settings for these specific cabling dialog boxes.I am on Creo Parametric 9.0.4.0
Hi all, I ask the community before PTC...We use CREO 7.0.2.0.We use datum point in a sketch, to figure location of several concrete mass.We put an hole table, edit the point tag according the CS21713 tips But in the drawing, we would like to show them using a leader note for making a visual link between the hole table and the view. How can we retrieve the point name in the leader note?I try the &Name but it doesn't work.Second question:In the table hole, can we use relation, like in repeat region? We would like to use a relation in order to simplify the name of each point. For example:Point name : 001_SE08_114Point name simplified : SE08 Regards
I have old Creo 4.0 parts and Hiding a Layer does NOT affect the visibility of those layer-controlled items in the Model Tree. I suppose it's a "New Feature!" that turning off the datum plane layer suddenly makes my planes in my Model Tree suddenly disappear, light grey on white... but I call that a "BUG". And I want it off. There's gotta be a config.pro option that helps make my Creo 9.0 more usable ??? please?
“Identify and eliminate waste and pollution at source, circulate products and materials at their highest value for as long as possible and regenerate natural systems. So, put back at least as much or more than you take out from the natural ecosystems on which we depend. And do all that by design.” This podcast is no stranger to innovation that drives positive change. We’ve met people who are making electric transport easily accessible in Africa and those using VR to enable medics to reach patients in disaster zones. But what if we could redesign the whole economy to make it waste-free and sustainable for the future? The Ellen MacArthur Foundation was founded in 2010 by the sailor Ellen MacArthur, with the aim of driving forward a circular economy. Traditionally, we think of the economy as linear: we start with extracting raw materials, which we then make products, use those products for their lifespan, and then they are disposed of as waste. The circula
Hello,I have a question about manufacturing family parts.I have 2 parts ruled by a family table. Simple parts, one with a M8 threaded hole and the other with a 8.4 countersink hole. This is the only difference between the 2 versions. The 2 versions/functions cannot cohexist in the generic part because the threaded hole and the countersink are both chamfered. The geometry for the chamfer on the threaded hole is destroy by the countersink fonction and vice versa for the chamfer and the countersink. In the generic part ONLY i am forced to desacivate one of the 2 fonctions. No problem with childs parts. Due to this specification is it possible to have one manufacuring assembly with a "selection " version threaded or version 8.4 ? Or am i forced to have 2 manufacuring assembly with both "child" parts ? Thanks in advance
Hi, when running ptcstatus.bat from a users PC, it writes "counted" at all licenses. running it from the server it writes who are using the license and etc. Any one know what setting to adjust. I guess it is either the VPN or Firewall that need to allow access. I hope someone can help me, thanks
I am using Creo Parametric Release 4.0 and DatecodeM150INTRALINK:11.1 M020-CPS19Creo:4.0 M150If I lock a part in the workspace, I can't modify the hatch interval of that part with DRW.Is this normal?
