I have a symbol that is used as part of the drawing template and is tied to the origin 0,0 for a template. When designing or copying another symbol a user can set any text or lines with respect to an origin or 0,0. If one were to insert the symbol at absolute 0,0 the symbol will be inserted exactly in the correct location. However, if a user were then to "redefine" the symbol it then opens the editing tool but the symbol is now centered and there is a new origin that is different. What gives? If I were to save this symbol again it would no longer place in the original origin. It will place according to the new origin. This makes editing a symbol almost impossible if you plan to set it at the absolute 0,0.Does anyone understand and know how to help resolve this issue?
\ How should I start this drawing

Hi Team,Greetings, I am working on the code for drawing to add flat pattern view, please help me on this. Api/ code anything would be appreciated.. Thanks in advanceAbdul
Hello, I'm trying to place a symbol at specific location on drawing. I created a symbol which has (or should have, i currently don't know if it works) a variable text (text would change based on dimension index; so from 1 to x) I managed to get the symbol definition and place the symbol at a location which i choose with mouse. So next i tried setting the location with the x,y location that i get from a dimension on drawing and that's where i got to a problem where i can't create a point somehow. Code: dim lok_x as double dim lok_y as double dim point as new cpfcpoint2d dim allattachments as ipfcdetailleaders dim allattachments_cr as new ccpfcdetailleaders set allattachments = allattachments_cr.create() allattachments.itemattachment = position sym_in.instattachment = allattachments Bold section works with position variable that i set with point variable which is set with mouse click on drawing. How would i set that point wit
Hello I am faily new to creo i am using creo 7 I have an assembly and have defined a custom coordinate system origin in the assembly file i am trying to get the center of gravity of a part in the assembly with respect to my "assembly" custom CS What i am seeing is: 1) i can only open the part and get the CS of the part with respect to a CS "inside" the part file. or 2) i can get the CG of the whole assembly with respect to a custom CS. both options are not what i need i need the CG of a part in an assembly with respect to a custom "assembly" CS any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
I am using Creo Parametric Release 9.0 and Datecode9.0.1.0HelloI have created a block which has multiple simple hole.but when I tried to get the depth of simple hole in hole table , I am not getting any parameters to add to hole table format.( But If i create a any standard other hole ,I can see multiple parameters BUT NOT FOR SIMPLE HOLE)How can I add a depth of multiple simple hole in hole table with help of parameter'sArticle - CS44121<< THIS ARTICLE ANSWERS MY UESTION BUT NOT ABLE TO REPLICATED THE PROCESS
I am working to try and improve my companies Creo start parts and configuration. One thing that annoys me terribly is the terrible Layer Scheme. Engineers don't even bother using layers and the result is that I have to work with a spaghetti mess of datum planes, axes, and csys. The layers are set by configuration option instead of by rules and I believe if they were set up by rules and easy to understand and use they would be much more manageable. Does anyone have any Creo Parts with Layer Rules they would like to share for ideas? I remember working for a company that had an excellent rules scheme for layers. I know there is no absolute best way for setting layer rules, but I would like to see some examples from the community to help make rules that are sensible and easy to understand.
I am using Creo Parametric Release 4.0 and DatecodeM150I am using the Animation Application to create animations and videos ofan assembly in motion using snapshots. I can generate animations usingsnapshots until I create gear connections in the mechanism application(there are gear to gear connections and worm gear connections). I candrag the components around with some lag, but when I try to generate ananimation those components affected by the gear connections do not move. Here are the errors that I facedN/A

I would like to revisit this for Windows 11. Windows 11 doesn't have the cascade function anymore. the box that says "The server is currently unavailable. Do you want to switch to offline mode?" is over the box that is needed to select retry. This window can't be moved... how do i get to the window behind? RE: post
Hello everyone, I just started created harnesses with creo schematics -> parametric (cabeling module) -> HMX.Overall its works fine with only small issues, but there is one thing which is not working for me. It's splices. The question is, how to properly define it at beginning in Schamtics, so it will load properly in Parametric and in drawing using HMX? Typically in Schematics, I use splices as branch ends so it's attached automatically (picture 1) when I route fibers. Type I'm using is component;splice. In parametric, I insert splices into assembly through insert component command, and I set the type on SPLICE. Fibers rooted in this fashion looks exactly how I want to, but sometimes its also little bit buggy. This setup works, in HMX there is only one bug..... there are always 2 cavity tables for 1 splice. If I have 2 splices in my design, I will get 4 tables in total. How should the design of a Splice look in general? is there some good practice?F
Good morning All, I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to create a parameter that shows the qty of each components within an assembly? Right now, I have a relation that creates a parameter for each components FN. This is done at the part level, and when I create my drawings, I have a mapkey that selects the part, adds it to the drawing, and puts &FN in the balloon note. Right now, I manually add an offset note for the qty of each component. This can not only be tedious, but also can result in human error if the qty is mistyped, the qty is changed in the assembly, etc. My problem is, I'm not sure how to tie a components qty back to the part.. I know I can create a repeat region and then call qty with a custom symbol, but I'd like to avoid having to add a table off the face of the drawing for each assembly. What I want might not be possible... but I figured I'd reach out and maybe one of you gurus can point me in the right
Hi, how do I access DpiAwarenessContext.exe Properties? I'm having similar issues with my display in Creo, but I'm not a computer person, so I have no idea what you're talking about. Thanks RE: post
I am currently using Creo 8.0. When I use the USE EDGE tool on a drawing it only lets me select 3 or 4 lines any more and it deselects everything. Is there a setting to change this?
Certain bends of a sheet metal part will take different angles depending on if it is pre or post installation. I want to model and draw both states. I don't want a family table as this will create two part models when in reality there is only one part. I tried simplified reps. I modeled the pre-installed state, then an 'unbend' feature, then add new bend features to set the installed angles. I planned to use simp reps to enable/disable these features as required. However, I'm unable to add new bends in the same location as unbent ones. Any ideas how I could tackle this would be appreciated.
Hi, I would like to make a new subassembly in the end of my model tree of top assembly. And I want to copy some of the components from top assembly to that new subassembly (just to pick the components I need to run some analysis) and than exlude it from top assembly. The top assembly is really big almost 2000 components and my current steps look like this: - Hide the components I dont need- Choose part filter - Choose all the components I can see (components I need)- And right click and Copy - Paste into new subassembly But the problem is that I cant copy all the components (or dont know the way how to do that), but only one and its really non effective way ? Do you know how to do that more effective ? Thanks

How should I start this I keep getting a square edge.
In a part, the scroll wheel zooms in/out using the mouse pointer location as the centerpoint. For assemblies, it ignores the pointer location and just zooms in to the center of the assembly, so then I have to pan over to what I want to focus on. Is there a setting for this? Thanks!
