Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Hi, I downloaded Creo 4.0 student edition a few days ago and had no problems, I even used it an hour ago and had no problems. I just tried using creo again and when I try to open creo I get the error - "Unable to get required Creo Simulate license. Please contact your sales representative." Haven't found much online so I thought i'd ask here. Any help is appreciated.  

I'm using Creo Parametric 8.0 and one of our vendors uses Creo Elements/Direct: they typically send me both .stp and .pkg assembly files and I'm running into this issue regardless of what format I import their assembly from.   Initially the import process works very well; I have a lot of success importing and opening these CAD assemblies without too many errors. I will then save a backup of these assemblies (save as-> save a backup) either locally or to our companies cloud servers. Naturally I save it in Creo 8's native format (.prt and .asm files) so I don't have to go through the process of re-importing.   This is where the problem arises: after closing the assembly, rebooting CAD or my computer, etc. and then I go back and re-open that assembly I will open the top-level .asm file and run into a ton of parts that have completely lost all of their orientation/position information inside the assembly. I'll have hundreds of tiny PCA components floating out in space as well

Is it possible to add comments down in the add features section of apro/program? Hello!   I made ONCE one annotation to a part in WF 4. The reason was to document some Part attributes like a Link to Website, manufacture number and thinks like that. After I done this, each one open of a file, independent from where brought a error window. That is way, I have deleted the annotation. But.. the window still to go on FOREVER. What is this for ugly behavioral and how to stop this?

This is reference to the previous thread that helped me solve with I was trying to do at the time, but am now having issues with: https://community.ptc.com/t5/3D-Part-Assembly-Design/Hiding-specified-value-in-a-BOM/m-p/730146#M119621   I'm using the following relation: IF asm_mbr_cagecode == "2233"my_cagecode = " "ELSEmy_cagecode = asm_mbr_cagecodeENDIF and have &rpt.rel.my_cagecode in the table column.   I have also added a relation to display the quanities of bulk items as AR (as required) using the following: IF asm_mbr_type == "BULK ITEM"qty = "AR"ELSEqty = rpt_qtyENDIF while changing the QTY column to &rpt.rel.qty.   When I have both sets of code in my relations, nearly all of the quantities update as they should but a handful of them will have blanked quantities and cage codes now. If I remove the first relation for the cage code then it fixes all of the broken quantities. For some reason the two relations are conflicting with each other it seems.

Hi, I need to design a rubber part 'very elastic, that is between 2 wood parts in an assembly.Is there any tutorial to help me to learn how to make this part flexible and adapt his geometry, depending on position of wood parts ?Thanks

Hello to all,I created an assembly that contains a flexible component (spring_compression.prt) and I created two snapshots.In 3d everything is updated correctly when I change the view from one snapshot to another.In the drawing instead I created two views that recall snapshots but the spring does not update.It appears as it is in 3d.What can I do?I don't want to create a family table because I have more complex mechanisms, with many positions to put in the 2d and they would become too many to manage ..Attached are the files made with creo 6 and an image.Thank you,Matteo.

This is for Creo 4-M040. I moved some components from an assembly (OA-1) to a subassembly(SA-1). The original assembly has family table. I have two issues:If the subassembly SA-1 is suppressed in OA-1, it will also failed as a standalone assemblyThe subassembly SA-1 were call in some instances but not others. if it is suppressed in the generic, it will failed in the instances

I have been using CREO for some time now.  I just upgraded to CREO 7.  I have always created a sketch before a extrude or revolve.  In CREO 7 when I create the sketch then a feature linked to the sketch, it bundles them into one.  Is there a config setting or work around?

I've been making more use of sketched holes in my designs recently, but I noticed that when you use this this type of hole, I lose the ability to set a parametric end condition, so if a plate that contains the hole feature changes thickness, the hole may become short.  So far, the only way I can deal with this is to write a direct relation to force the hole length to match the plate thickness, but is there anyway to establish a reference to another part inside the sketch from the hole feature so that my sketched hole automatically adjust to changes in plate thickness, or is the only way to accomplish this through a relation?

I am using Creo Parametric 3.0 M150When making a new drawing and using the default template the new drawing does not name the drawing the same name as the active model. This has been working since we have installed but now has stopped working. Could this be a result of folder redirection or some security or network configuration? I have checked other users installs and they also behave like this. We are using Creo3 M150 and Windchill 10.2Here are the errors that I faced None

I believe this has come up before, but the previous solution is not available in my Creo 6. Colors in the model seem fine but selecting a color from the palette is a challenge... They are all dark.   

I don't know if creo view stereoscopic rendering functionality relies on nvidia 3dvision(pro) or not, as it has been obsoleted, I can not use/see the stereo switch button on the bar menu following instruction as Stereoscopic 3D output - PTC Community, but stereo configuration remains in the setting menu, with no effects.  Any help would be appreciated.  

As a CAD Administrator, a universal complaint I have received from people coming from CATIA and Solidworks users is that Sketcher weak constraints make things way too complicated. Many people just want to doodle in sketcher, then realize constraints later.   Under-constrained mode is *clearly* implemented in the Cosmetic Sketcher mode, can it please be implemented/enabled in the normal sketcher?

Why are all my colors extra dark? I believe this was the appearance.dmt from our internal cad support people when we moved to creo 3.

Hello PTC Community, I have issues to print hidden lines on drawing module, i export to PDF and hidden lines appears as continuous linemaking drawing confuse, any of you can guide me what to configure to fix the issue?

I've been working on developing an improved moldbase template for our tooling designers, and I've really gotten into writing custom annotations, symbols, and using MBD with combination states to drive the initial workflow for a tool design.  Basically, my approach is to isolate the control dimensions that affect only a few components at a time so that the template is clear and easy to use.   I've figured out that in order to show dimensions in an assembly, I need combination states in the model that I intend to reference. To make things easy, I'm going from the skeleton. So far, I've been able to get regular dimensions to show and notes.  But my problem is with baseline dimensions, which I'm using for clarity in some reference sketches (Notably the control locations for the pillars). These driving ordinate dimensions don't show up when I try to show them in the assembly or the part level regardless of if I filter for ordinate or driving dimensions.  Is there a way t

I am using Creo Parametric - Release 2.0 (connected) 2.0 M250When I open an assembly or even if I create a new assembly, if I click on the tools tab, I get a spinning wheel for about 3 seconds and then the software crashes and closes down. It will happen right after a create the assembly and don't do anything else except click the tools tab.Here are the errors that I faced No warning or alerts.I tried reinstalling the software and got an error message on diagnostics tools claiming to be unsuccessful. It says a newer version of diagnostic tools is already installed on this machine.The version that you are trying to install (version 2.0.0.0) is out of date and will not be installed.
