I have an application where I need to subtract numerous custom made counter bore holes from a solid.I am seeing that doing multiple quilt solidify subtracts is not possible.I really don't want to single select subtract numerous quilts as the time and history tree would be extensive. These are quilts because I needed to bring the holes in as merged components and needed to populate and reposition them after insertion.I can't just build simple holes because most of them are oblonged in shape.Am I missing an easier way to do this process? As you can see in the picture I have subtracted the top left hole.
Hi PTC Community, Is this a bug of the mirror feature? If yes - is it resolved in higher versions? I am using Creo 2.0 at the time and could not find a thread regarding this topic. (even tho it should be a very common question I would think...?) I did mirror a part and just started making a drawing of it - It has a section view. As soon as I try to show the arrows for the section view the following happens. I understand why it does what it does but I do not know how to fix it: The 3D Model show the sections views correct: Happy for any suggestions! Best Regards, Stay healthy, Rene
I am trying to get the pfcUnitConversionOptions of a solid/model object to determine whether a model unit is in "Converted dimensions" or in "interpreted dimensions"
I need some help in creating a parametric model in Creo. The Creo needs to run in batch mode to do the following:Fetch the input parameters from text file > Modify the geometry using the parameters> Write geometry file to diskI am successful at creating a pro/program that can take input file parameters ( regenerate> input file>specify text file). I can even run trail file to do the same. However all that only works in GUI.I need a windows batch command to run creo that takes input geometry and parameter file as input and writes updated geometry back.Is that too much to ask from a software?
Hello all If I get a part file of Creo 4.0 M130 and not sure about what all details (default datums , parameters , units) my start part template is having, can I get to know from Creo file itself whether part has been created using template or not? Thank you in advance...
Hi Everyone, My name is Matt Huybrecht, and I'm the Director of CAD Curriculum for PTC University. My team determines what courses are going to be created and for what software. You may or may not know that PTC University is changing up our curriculum creation model, and we're thinking of creating some content for more "niche" areas of Creo. Here are some of the areas we're looking at: Creo Simulation Live - We already have a course but are thinking of expanding it. Topology Optimization - Again, we already have a course but are thinking of expanding it. Advanced Framework Extension (AFX) Creo Render Studio Creo Insight Mold Analysis Extension Casting Welding Additive Manufacturing Lattice Structures Unite Technology Legacy Migration Extension Computational Flow Dynamics (CFD) Tolerance Analysis Extension (TAE) I'm looking for your feedback here. What of these would you like to take a course in? Is there something else not covered here that you'd love to take a course o
I am trying to get option selected during unit conversion so, I am trying to use that GetIgnoreParamUnits () to get option but not able to find which instance should i use or is their any other way to do that
Hi - is it possible to export animation in parametric education edition? I have created an animation, but when I press Playback > Export, the button clicks, but only thing that happens is a .fra file is created in the working folder (last week a .pba file was created though) - no dialogue box opened for me to specify anything. Can I use these files? I really would like export the animation as a well known file format. Any helps would be great. Thanks vm.
We have several family tables that seem to want to regenerate when an assembly that uses their instances is opened/saved. Please see the image below. This can be avoided by selecting "Make Read-Only" for these items when opening the assembly, or by locking the files in the workspace (we are connected to Windchill) prior to opening the assembly. However, I wanted to ask if anyone would have any thoughts as to why these particular family tables want to regenerate - is there something to look for? I have confirmed in Windchill that their instances are verified. Thank you for any suggestions.
Hey, i have a simple assembly based with 3 sheet metal parts. While assembling them together, Creo wont give me an opportunity to select an important edge to coincide these sheet parts by only showing the surface? Any help would be appreciated. Best regards!
Hi, I have question on how MBD is used with other functions, like manufacturing. Few questions i have is what is preferred MBD output to Mfg? whether MBD itself will have all Mfg data ? How to add PMI data to MBD? Whether Mfg requires any new software to work with MBD?
Hey, i want to connect 3 sheet metal parts but therefore i need to select important edges. But Creo only allows me to select the surface i do not want specifically. Are there any options, to choose edges instead surfaces or am i forced to select them? Any help would be appreciated. Best regards!
Hi all, There's a post on the Ideas page that contains a lot of really great ideas for ModelCHECK enhancements, and it has a ton of upvotes. The problem is that we won't be able to implement all of those at once, and with them all together, it's tough to know what's highest on everyone's priority list. Many thanks to @jwagh for posting the Idea in the first place and then for going through the laborious task of breaking each idea into a separate Idea that can be voted on individually. But now I need your help to capture your priorities. All of those individual ideas are starting from nothing. Please take a look at the original idea: https://community.ptc.com/t5/Creo-Parametric-Ideas/New-ModelCheck-Ideas/idi-p/470561 In the comments, you'll find @jwagh 's comment that has links to each individual Idea. Please go to the Ideas that are most important to you and upvote them. Alternatively, just follow this link to see all of t
Hi, is this something that has changed somewhere between Creo 3 (what i am using now) and Creo 7 (that i am testing out) I used to be able to double mouse click the left mouse button on a dimension in a drawing, and it would pop up dimension property box. I see this is now different in Creo 7, I can no longer double left click dim to get dimension text box to show up. I have to actually pick it from the ribbon. It also wont let me add it to the floating quick menu bar. (ugh!!) Is this some weird setting in my config causing this, or is that just the way it is now? Thanks, Jay
Hi,I am creating some features using Object toolkit application C++. But once operations are done, I cant undo them. Is there anyway with which I can add undo point till the state before I started by application
Can someone please help me in How to find out the color of the selected face in OTK CPP. Thanks
Hi Guys, We are currently using Creo3. When creating a drawing, if you change the decimal places under dimension properties window, it remembers that value until you change it again. In Creo7, it seems to always default back to whats set in my config.pro (5 places in my case) How to I get it remember when detailing a drawing? Thanks for the help. Jay
Hi, I am working on a developing a application in Object Toolkit Cpp where I need to preview its result. I have button 'Preview' on UI created using Creo UI Editor. But cannt figure out how to show the preview. Can someone please guide me 'How to preview in Object Toolkit'.
We are working to grow our library for connectors for cabling. I have one lead saying that they only want one entry point, and therefore no pin locations modeled. This means that on their drawings, they will have to apply a symbol to capture the pin configuration. This philosophy also would preclude any wire-to-pin analysis, or fanning of the wires to their location, would it not? I have another lead that wants the pin configurations, so that all of the views are parametric, and that the advanced wire termination can be done. My LEANING, as a primarily mechanical/non-electrical is that I would want this as parametric and accurate as possible, as long as it doesn't impede next higher assemblies in their regen, or performance. Does anyone have any insight I can use to help make a sound determination?
After i create the new line font style and apply to the line it updates. after saving the drawing the line font just disappears from the line font list. and when i as as PDF it creates a solid line by default. I saw that there are solution regarding the <fontname>.lsl file but i am not able to understand the solution. Can some one help me out of this problem.
I am trying to get Color of Model
I am trying to get list of display component so i am using pfcSession_ptr session = conn->GetSession(); pfcModel_ptr CurrentModel= session->GetCurrentModel(); wfcWAssembly_ptr WAsm = wfcWAssembly::cast(CurrentModel); but its crashing in last line not able to debug have anyone idea about this i am using this in asynchronous mode
Can MBD/annotations be translated (copied) over from the design model to the mold_ref model? When we assemble the design model into the mold assembly; you have three choices, 1) Merge by reference, 2) Same model, 3) Inherited. We have always used the Merge by reference option. So ultimately, I’m asking if GTOL/Annotations be transferred to a External Merge feature (part)?
While iterating a load step the checkpoints window will note convergence has occurred through the message "Accepting looser residual norm tolerance because both contact area and force have converged". But, the program will continue to iterate for the same load step. This seems in contradiction to the message about convergence. What is going on here?
Hello, I have a red stop light icon in the lower-right corner of my drawing. I clicked it and nothing launched to reveal the cause. What is the purpose of this stop light? Thank you.
