Hi, Is it possible to attach a parameter to a particular part / set of parts that is context-sensitive within an assembly? We want to add a parameter that specifies if a part is bought by us / manufactured by us / bought in as part of a sub-assembly. There are some places where the same P/N (a clinch stud) is bought in as parts of a purchased assembly, but the same creo part is also bought individually by us and installed by us, so the parameter needs to be different for each instance of each part in each assembly.
We are using Creo Paramatric for 3D modelling. 1. In Creo Illustrate, while importing file in .pvz fromat; we observe colour difference in some of the components. 2. and while importing in .asm format some components disappears in eBOM as well as sBOM.
I have installed Creo 6 in my system, but facing a lagging while doing part modeling not able to select the datum plane for creating a sketch, Earlier I was using Creo 5 and I have not faced such an issue with it. Please help
How do you do this? We tend to make parts off of other parts that are similar so it would come in handy to be able to attach drawings to models. When I tried making a copy of a drawing it still kept it attached to the old model. I tried using add model under legacy migration but it did nothing. Thanks for any help.
needing some advice, our drawings are set up with rev table that appear to be a standard table. is there a way to hide rows from this table without deleting them? or is there a specific rev table template? i previously used SW and they have a dedicated rev table with this and more functionality. thanks
If and IFX screw exists in my working dictionary/session putting in the screw is normal, it happens fast without problem. But if IFX has to generate to model from .dat file it takes a lot of time. We both tested if the .dat files were on local drive or network drive there, but is not real difference. The problem seems to happen if the working dictionary is full of stuff, which happens a lot since we use large assemblies Does anyone else has this same problem? Or any solution? Or at least and explanation why this could happen?
Attached to this blog post is a short presentation and a video on the new enhancement to allow direct embedding of images into drawings in Creo 4.0.Any questions or feedback you have related to the ability to embed images in drawings should be provided as comments to the blog post. That will be the easiest way for me to keep track of the comments and also be able to provide timely responses to your questions. If you follow this post, you can be notified of those comments as well and be able to learn from what others are asking. I may also periodically update this post to add some new details or information related to this enhancement. Also, don't forget to follow the main blog post for 2D Detailing - which will have links to other 2D Detailing-related content 2D Detailing Home: Start Here!Additional details on this enhancement:By default, the image is not saved with the drawing file but will continue to appear as long as Creo can find the image file on disk. Since this Images tool in dra
I distinctly remember someone sharing a hack that would allow multi-line text to be passed via a parameter into a note or table cell. I've scoured the community and I can't find it, but I think that may be more a function of how the search tool works here. It was something along the lines of creating a multi-line note, referencing the note with a parameter, and then using that parameter on the drawing. Does anyone remember the exact steps to make this work? Thanks.
In Creo Illustrate 7, besides the pop up window for the model orientation, is there way to have the orientation cube on screen to make it faster to orient the model?
Hello, can you straighten a hose for use in a drawing? Thanks.
Hi All I am trying to identify zone location for note ProDrawingPosToLocgrid. For this purpose, note location is input. Location I got from API ProDtlnoteLineEnvelopeGet. As it is in screen coordinate, I tried to use ProDrawingSheetTrfGet and ProPntTrfEval. But everytime, ProDrawingPosToLocgrid is saying Row as A and Col as 1 and it is not changing position. Any thought would be of great help.
Does there exist a good tutorial on creating custom IFX libraries and uploading them to Windchill? Thanks, Bob
Hi, I’m having a lot of trouble importing some legacy data to Creo Parametric 6. We previously used Solidworks as our primary CAD tool and had some horrible modelling practices that lead to some very large assemblies that can’t easily be broken down for ease of importing. When we use the file > open > import option on the .sldasm files Creo becomes unresponsive with 0% cpu usage. I’ve left it running over the weekend on one file but it’s still not imported. For comparison, I tried exporting the assembly in Solidworks as a STEP AP214 file and that imports reasonably quickly into Creo. However, that is not a sensible strategy for importing all of our legacy data, as Solidworks Task scheduler is too unreliable to mass export STEP files of all the required assemblies. Does anyone have any advice for how to import large assemblies like this into Creo from Solidworks (some 2016 data and some 2007 data)?
with the new multi-body modeling in creo7, it would be nice to have an option for "create assembly from bodies" option similar to how there is "create part from body" option when you click on a body in the model tree. this should invoke an automated "create part from body" for each body in the bodies tree. the new part name should be imported from the body name. a new assembly should automatically be created with the option to define the name. All of the newly created part files should be auto assembled with default constraint.
Hi alls,One of my client asked me if it's possible to share a Creo screen in live for speaking about a part I'm designing. What would be a software for doing that ?Skype ??? anything else ?I'm suspecting that 3D display (with accelerated graphic card) should be a problem via web connection. No easy to test by myself before visio-conference we have to plan...Thanks for any advice.Dom
Hello all, I have a model that can have one of 2 different features that are controlled by a parameter and proprogram in the model. On the drawing side I have created 2 drawing states to add the unique dimensions to the drawing (one for each feature option). The drawing program looks like the following: IF FLARE_FINISH:0 == NOSET STATE STARTENDIF IF FLARE_FINISH:0 == YESSET STATE FINISHENDIF where FLARE_FINISH:0 is the parameter in the model that controls the features in the model. The day that I set this all up everything worked fine. I could switch the parameter back and forth and the model and dimensions would all change as expected. The next day upon opening the same files, one of the drawing states will not properly execute. The program says that is successfully parsed and if i edit the state and run the commands everything looks right until i regen the drawing and everything in the state disappears. The drawing program is used to set a few other states.
Hello, We work with PTC CAD for long time. Three years ago we moved from ProE Wildfire 5 to Creo 3 and work with it. In our system we currently have files create/modify with only ProE Wildfire 5 and other create/modify with Creo 3. We plan to move soon to Creo 5. As we know it will work perfectly well between Creo 3 and Creo 5 (at least when we move from 3 to 5) but my question is: what about if we want to open / modify with Creo 5 some files saved with ProE wildfire 5 10years ago ? Do we need to re-open and re-save all files from wildfire 5 to Creo 3 before move to creo 5 to be sure everything will work ? regards Cedric
Hi, Creo 3 licensing became unreliable with windows 10 and now completely stopped working. That means I can not use the software anymore. My reseller suggested me to reinstall the flexnet. The deinstalling went fine using the config tool but trying to install it again makes the tool get stuck at the "installing license server" state. Any idea how I can get my expensive tool back to work? Thanks, Consti
Dear Community, I want to set two positions of a robotic arm in a single view at drafting.. This feature is available in solidworks also..(Ref video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cC_F6F5gRog) Can we do it in creo as like this..
Hello, in CREO 5 Piping, I have started the routing of a flexible pipe from the csys of the fitting. However, going back to modify this portion of the routing, I cannot change the x and y position of the "node", only the z position. Any ideas why the x and y are locked (see below). Thank you.
For some reason, my Creo manages to delete (?) custom created materials. I just copy a material from the materials list and change the parameters. After a while (edit: when restarting Creo), the list kind of resets itself to the default materials. I've added 2 custom created materials this way and they're both not on the list anymore. What's the proper way to create a material, get it into the list as a default material, in order to use the material for future parts?
Hello As we know CCpfcAsyncConnection.Connect would give ambiguity exception if there are more than one Creo session is there. In such case, GetConnectionId will help us to connect to specific Creo session. To get connection ID, we have option to get so by API GetConnectionId. I am having confusion of usage of this API GetConnectionId , i.e. how to use this same API to identify two or three different connection string based on number of active sessions. Any thought would be helpful as I would like to give option to use end application based on session model name his / her application is going to get connected for automation purpose. Thanks and Regards KEtan
Hello, I want to get a boundary curve from a Creo Parametric 3D-Model surface. Are there any useful methods in Creo Parametric Toolkit you know to get e.g. a vector of boundary curve points of a surface? My idea is to get the boundary curve by clicking on it while my TK-application is running in Creo Parametric. Thanks in advance, Florian
Repost from Part Modeling... Just wanted to let you all know... the latest release of Nitro-PROGRAM has a NO HASSLE - FREE LICENSE option... If you have ever struggled with seemingly never ending edit-import-fix-import-fix-import cycle of creating or editing Pro/PROGRAMs for Creo Parametric Parts or Assemblies... -OR- nearly screamed while trying to edit a Pro/PROGRAM that someone else created.... Then Nitro-PROGRAM is something you should download immediately and use! Nitro-PROGRAM eliminates the pains and frustrations of the "text editor" and transforms the creating, editing and testing of Pro/PROGRAMs into a visual, drag-and-drop, editing love-fest by comparison. 😉 Nitro-PROGRAM saves time, reduces frustration, improves accuracy and enables you to think about the most important elements of Creo Parametric Automation -- data-flow and regeneration! Simply Download, Unzip, Run.... and
I'm working with Creo Parametric 6.0 and I am trying to blank out components in my drawing but I am unable to select the desired component. When I try to unblank components the same component becomes visible regardless of which component I try to select but disappears when I select OK. This happens regardless of which drawing view I try to work with. I am at a loss here, can someone think of anything I should try?
