Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Hello all   I want to analyze he effect of gravity on the pot placed on stand. When we placed the pot towards the end of stand due to the gravity it should fall down. Can we create this situation in creo & see?  

I have a complex assmebly and i am have added a manikin and want to lock out the selection of all the assembly excpet the manikin but i cannot find the selection feature or work around for this?   An ideas

Hi all, I am doing a large number of installation drawings for a large assembly. I want to be able to show reference components in the installation drawings to show how the components are assembled together. My problem is I cannot have reference components saved in the assembly as they will duplicate in the top level model assembly. I can bring components into an assembly model then into a drawing and save the outline as draft entities so that I can then delete reference model from assembly before saving. However when you do this the reference model is no longer there to hide lines behind it so you end up with hidden lines shown which i don't want. Apologies for the long explanation but can anyone help?Thanks Dave.

My company has recently updated to CREO Schematics 4 and the functionality of changing cable decorations is not working.  When trying to change the cable decoration an error message appears. Has anyone else experienced this error or issue?

Hi!   I'd like to move the Common Files folder from the directory, where Creo is installed. We need it to be shared, because there's a lot of settings in there. I tried a lot of things, but I didn't succeed. Is there a way to specify the path to the Common Files folder to use instead of the original?   Thanks, Bence Salamon

One of the designers did a sheetmetal design with 4 distinct pieces so it is in a part file, not an assembly file as we usually do for a weldment. This leads to a number of questions. 1) How do you show each distinct piece in a drawing? 2) Can these pieces be saved off as individual part files and then rebuilt in an assembly? 3) Is it possible to show a BOM on the drawing of the part file so we can list sizes, etc?   The last question is more general in nature, when did distinct features get added to the sheetmetal package? My last training with sheetmetal was back at WIldfire 2 days. Online documentation is very weak (almost non-existent) on distinct features and how they work.

Hello   As we know, drawing name is stored in dwg_name system parameter, but this parameter through toolkit is not accessible. How to get value of dwg_name using toolkit?

When a view is converted to draft group, the line entities do not maintain the colors they had before the conversion. Is there a config option or way during the conversion process so they maintain the line colors.

Hello all,   I am using Excel for pattern definiton, this can be achived with the config option "part_table_editor excel", which is amazing. This is really handy, because I receive information about connector locations via the Excel format. I can specify angles and other dimensions.   For hole definition I plan to use the save sketch function. This way I can make sure that all the holes used for particular purpose are the same. Single source definition you could call it. This way I deny the possibilites of mistakes that one hole is a bit different then the other.   We use PTC Creo parametric 4.0 and Windchill. Now I was wondering, where are the Excel files and sketch files stored? Are they stored with the part? Meaning that if I release the part in windchill, the excel file and sketch file are also locked?   Kind regards

I am trying to generate a hole geometry feature that is rotated angularly around a specified central axis. When I do this operation, the resulting hole features are displayed, but they are highlighted in blue and do not appear as extrusions into the part. Any suggestion on how I can correct this? (The initial hole geometry was made using a singular place hole reflected about two planes).

Can you show annotations / Gtol's in an External inheritance or External merge model? Original model:     External merge model does not seem to carry the annotations along.   External inheritance model does carry the annotations along.   However, I am unable to show the annotations in the External inheritance model.     Any help would be greatly appreciated.        

Creo is reading the config.pro file over the public network. Therefore, all users have the same working directory. I want to set the working directory folder to the local folder of all users. In addition, I want this to be done automatically, without users doing anything. Is it possible?

I have been using a threaded shaft with RH and LH threads. The design is provided with 2 nuts, each with LH and RH threads. The rotation of the shaft generates an +ve motion in one nut and -ve motion in the other thread. The modeling is done through slot and point mechaninsm with helical sketch (RH and LH respectively),   Looking for better and simplistic ways to simulate this motion in Creo Parametric.

how do I specify in my relations how to control the values of the csys dimensions by a mass properties report for a specific rep?   this is what i've done so far: I created a cg csys referencing the default acs0 csys   used the following for relations: $d438=mp_cg_x("","ACS0","")$d439=mp_cg_y("","ACS0","")$d440=mp_cg_z("","ACS0","")   all this works great as long as its the master rep, but I need the value to show for a simplified rep.   so i'm guessing somehow there has to be a way in the relations to tell it to get the value from a specific rep to drive the new CG location.   thanks everyone

HiWe have some fairly large assemblies which we want to show on a drawing.The problem is that on sheet 1 we use a simplified rep called Default with a BOM and BOM Balloons.On sheet 2 we have a simplified rep called Inspection_side with several components hided.We want to use the numbers from the BOM on sheet 1 to show up on Balloons on sheet 2.OTB it's not possible, but have any of you some good ideas??

Hi,   I am developing a application in OTK C++. I want to deploy it on client's machine. But I don't want user to go to 'Auxiliary application' every time, selecting creo.dat file and registering the application.   Currently I know a way- doing it first time and using option - Save the Auxiliary Application User Interface. But the process still needs to be done atleast one time manually.   Is there any way, with which we can add a ribbon, buttons and these ribbon will be there even in new session by any other way, like running a .bat file or .exe or some thing simpler solution than Save the Auxiliary Application User Interface.   Thanks

Hi everybody,   I am installing Creo 6.0.2 into a school lab. Tha lab has Windows 7 and Windows 10 PCs. License server is a Windows Server 2008 R2.   The W7 PCs can reach the server during the installation and everything worked without problems. W10 PCs can't reach the server, both using server name or server IP address. If I use the server name, nothing happens. If I use the IP address, it says that server is unreachable. But I can ping the IP address of the server from a cmd prompt, and the ping works fine. Windows firewall is disabled on W10 and I set up rules on 7788 port and the xtop.exe, parametric.exe, and other executables as described in this article.   Is there something missing?

Good day.I am working with the VB API in C# with Visual Studio 2015 and so far I have been successful in starting a new AsyncConnection, loading some models, adding a couple Action Listeners, etc.However, I have never been able to properly end a connection:Every time I call IpfcAsyncConnection.End() . the Creo Parametric session simply crashes, and I have to force close it.This seems so simple but I can't get it to work. I have tried closing windows, disconecting first, etc.Has anyone experienced the same? Any sugestions?Thanks,Pedro.

To all,   We have been going thru the process of adding annotations into our models for vendors to be able to see what they need to check. The problem we are running into is when the file gets exported as a step file, and we go to open it, this information is not in these files. Is there a setting that needs to be selected for the step file creation, to be able to see these when opened in CreoView? We are currently using Creo4.   Thank you.   Dennis
