If I constrain a part based off datums/features in a skeleton, how do I re-use that part constrained in a different location without creating a circular reference? When I first create the part, I constrain it to the skeleton via coordinate system. What do I need to do in order to use that part in a different location within the assembly? I would like to keep it the same part number and remain parametrically linked.
Hi, I am trying to simulate an oven curing profile that behaves as a 'ramp' which linearly increases until reaching the desired setpoint. When trying to do this in the convection option, I get to the convection condition and try to define the bulk temperature Tb temporal variation as a function of time. Even though I do this, the value option below also requires an input. By setting the temporal variation, why is the value also necessary? This is not a constant value. In addition, I verify the temperature within the temporal variation function but once the simulation runs the temperature is vastly different (higher). Is there an operation/function that I am missing?
Hi All I am doing connection to Creo using VB API. We have Creo 4.0 M090. Everything was working fine and we were able to connect to Creo but suddenly application got crashed and some error occurred which I am not sure. Post this issue, Connection.start API which was working is throwing error as per subject i.e. RPC_E_SERVERFAULT. Could anyone throw some light on this? Thanks in advance...! Regards Ketan
I have assemblies with many versions of an assembly in one large file. Is it possible to use a list of part numbers in an excel sheet to activate/select the parts needed to create a simplified rep. All of the parts exist in the assembly, it is just time consuming searching through the model tree trying to find the 50 to 100 parts I need out of the thousand or so parts in the top assembly. I have used excel in the past to calculate values to build shafts from so I can do the interface part, I just need it as an advanced "selection" tool. The existing method of picking parts to create a rep are limited. Thanks for any help, Gary-
Does anyone have a flexible zip tie model they are willing to share? Both for usage in a design, but also so I can break apart the different aspects to model other simple flexible parts. Thanks in advance!
I know that PTC has received a lot of slack for the way they implemented the Creo Ribbon UI. To be sure, there are things I don't like and could be improved on, but BY FAR it is the best ribbon implementation that I have seen in any other program. Although selective click (where you have to be on the right tab to select stuff) was a poor decision and remains the UI biggest challenge for users, I specifically appreciate: How everything on the UI can be customized (can even create a custom tab to click on anything!😃) How an admin .ui file can be distributed but that the user .ui wins whenever there is a contradiction. How using the same name for a tab and group can now allow for propagation (and can be turned off if desired). Command Search: My favorite feature which is the search functionality that teaches the user where the commands are, and even search custom mapkeys and again highlights where they are in the ribbon. Still no other program does this this as well as
Is there a way to create an annotation feature using a driven dimension?Apparently the function ProAnnotationfeatCreate() and ProAnnotationfeatElementAdd() only allow to add an annotation element to an annotation feature. A driven dimension annotation is not an annotation element and I don't see a function to convert it into one. So how does one create an annotation feature using a driven dimension?

Hi I had a drawing sheet having table present into it... By looking at first glance , I could identify that it has three rows and 4 columns... Unfortunately , all the columns were merged for top two rows and table has actually four rows and four columns. Is there a way to get property details of table rows and columns for a table ? I am having Creo 4.0 M070.
Hi All, I want to put 4 welds around a pipe. The pipe is welded to the flat plate. The issue is that I want the welds to be centered on the quadrants, yet Creo seem to only want to start at the quadrants.. I can't seem to set a negative start point, and the 'center welds' option seems to be broken.. And I can't see to set a uniform way to get these welds..
Is it possible in sheetmetal flexible modeling to change the default options when editing a bend to have Anchor Apex active and use "Constant wall Height" as default for Bending editing option. 99.9998% of the time you want to change bend radii of a customer's solidworks/etc... file you don't want the flange to move or become larger. So the current default values creates extra work by having to select options to get the size and position back to normal. The part dimensions should stay as in the original file by default.
Hello there!Currently we provide design validation checks for manufacturability --Injetion Molding design (Bosses ,Ribs, Draft, thin Steel conditions, flow problems)-SheetMetal design (Bends, hems, feature distances)-Machining design (Milling, Drilling, Turning)-Castings design ( wall thickness)-Assembly checks ( Clearance support component, sub-assembly )Current capabilities can be understood from here :Current support from WF4 to Creo 1.0.http://dfmpro.geometricglobal.com/DFMPro_demo/index.htmlI am looking for user requirements on Assembly side-Some questions of Assembly:1) How do you currently ensure fastener engagement? Clearance, length2) Hole alignment, missing holes, missing fasteners?3) What would be other challenges on assembly? like clashing of components.4) Any other inputs?your feedback will be highly appreciated!Regards,Prashant
We have run into a problem setting up our floating licenses. The server is up and running and the licenses are found with no problems during the installation. However, when starting CREO Parametric, the program is unable to connect to the license server... Initially, the port was blocked, but before that issue was lifted, the server wasn't even found during the installation. How should we go about fixing this?
CREO 5 I have a part with a merge/inheritance feature as the first feature, which references a different part, but this feature is set to 'Manual Update'. Why then is there a yellow triangle in my model tree indicating that the referenced part is not in session? Manual Update should imply that the link is broken, right? Hence, the option to select 'Automatic Update', which would continuously search for the referenced part? If I select 'No Dependency' will the link be broken with the referenced part for good, or can it be re-established?
Hello, In CREO 5, I regenerated an assembly model, saved, and was prompted to regenerate? Then, I clicked OK and still had the regenerate icon showing in the lower-right corner of the graphics window. Can someone explain what is going on with this regeneration obsession by Creo, why isn't it satisfied, and why isn't it telling me why it isn't satisfied? Thank you.
Hello everyone, today i discovered a little problem. When i tried to save a part to JPEG file, it apeared that it has purple gradient in the picture even though i have my background set to pure white color. I have also discovered that it only appear when i set my resolution to anything higher that 100 DPI, everything higher what 100 DPI will include the gradient colors in the picture. Thanks in advance.
Is anyone aware of a method to obtain the transform matrix between two CSYS features using built in Creo functions? The measure transform function generates the transposed matrix of the matrix which transforms coordinates based on the second selected CSYS to that based on the first selected CSYS. I would like to obtain the transform matrix but can not find any internal function available for relations or a direct analysis to generate this matrix. I would then use the transform matrix values in some relations to drive additional features.

Hello all, I am working to add PMI to our part and assembly data. I noticed that a lot of ISO or ASME standard symbols are not available for Creo 3. What is the best way to add them? Is there a library available and how do I add them to use for GD&T (Annotate)? Can I make some myself? How? Sorry for the many, basic questions. I need to start updating some PMI for the parts I'm working on.
I have a series of holes on a planar surface. The surface was created with a blind extrude to a dimension. I wanted the extrusion height to be dimensioned to a different feature than the sketching plane, so I created a plane referencing the desired feature and made the extrude up to that surface. When I did that all of the holes "lost" the surface they were anchored on, even though it's the exact same surface of the exact same feature only dimensioned differently. So now I have to go through and redefine the placement surface for all the holes. Only when I redefine the surface, Creo (4.0) repositions the hole based on where I click the "new" surface and redefines all the offset dimensions I had locating the hole. I tried every different way I could think of, but in the end I had to redefine all the holes after writing down all the dimensions I had locating them as well as deleting all of the mirrors/patterns I had of these holes and doing those completely over from scratch. Did I miss
I was searching for a way to "merge uses" like you can do in the CAD structure view, but in the Compare to Part Structure Tool. Quantities of common components can be viewed side by side when comparing the design view to the engineering view. But not when comparing the CAD structure to the design part structure. I would like these to function the same way so there is not a ton of scrolling through large assemblies with common components.

Hello everyone, I made a Wankel engine for an uni assignment and currently try to make an analysis of the rotation of the eccentric shaft. Sadly the analysis stops everytime after just 63 frames and notifies me to regenerate the model. I uploaded the model in the thread, I need help quickly, as the deadline is the 31st 😥 Best regards Nxt
Is anyone using MBD for manufacturing OP models? Basically, I have my part (that is being machined) with different Simp Reps to show each OP, I assemble fixture(s) and then start annotating and showing the different OPs within combo states. Everything looks pretty good and then when I try to output to Creo View or 3dPDF (Anark), nothing recognizes my part level Simp Reps so the correct representation never gets shown for my operations. Again, everything looks great in Creo Parametric so this is very frustrating because I never get a deliverable that is acceptable. At the moment, I think my only work around is to stay in Part mode rather than creating an assembly and bring fixturing in as Copy Geom surface models.
