Hello, I wanted to add a menu button for my Toolkit App. Therefore I used the source code of the installation test as a reference. Everything worked well, and I could run my little test program via the pushbutton, but I have problems changing the name of the pushbutton. Parts of my source code (Layout changed a little somehow…): static wchar_t MSGFIL[] = {'u','s','e','r','.','t','x','t','\0'}; //Test Access for MenuButton static uiCmdAccessState TestAccessDefault(uiCmdAccessMode access_mode) { return (ACCESS_AVAILABLE); } int user_initialize(int argc, char *argv[], char *version, char *build) //argc: number of arguments; *argv[]: arguments passed by Creo Parametric { //Add button to menu bar ProError status; uiCmdCmdId cmd_id; ProMessageDisplay( MSGFIL, "USER %0s", "" ); status = ProCmdActionAdd("-TestApp", (uiCmdCmdActFn)selectSurface, uiProe2ndImmediate, TestAccessDefault, PRO_B_TRUE, PRO_B_TRUE, &cmd_id); status = ProMenubarmenuPushbuttonAdd("File", "-TestApp",
I want to invoke a macro from within a Toolkit application. The macro converts a selected annotation to an annotation feature. When I select the annotation manually and then invoke the macro (mapkey) it works as intended. When I try to do the same from within the Toolkit application it doesn't work. The macro is executed but there is something wrong with the selection. ProSelection AnnotationSel; status = ProSelectionAlloc(NULL, &((p_ListAnnFoundItem->CommonData).AnnInfo.Annotation), &AnnotationSel); // must be freed // Execute mapkey on selected annotation ProLine wszMacro; status = ProSelectionHighlight(AnnotationSel, PRO_COLOR_HIGHLI
Just wanted to let you all know... the latest release of Nitro-BOM has a NO HASSLE - FREE LICENSE option... Nitro-BOM enables direct customizable export of Creo Assembly Structure, Parameters, Values and even model data (e.g. current mass units, material file, simplified rep, etc.) and even map Creo Parameter Names to other Names... directly to Native Excel Tables. Nitro-BOM also enables the creation, modification, deletion, designation/un-designation of Creo Parameters and can even rename models and drawings from Excel. For example: MODIFY Creo Parameters from Excel (3:01) CREATE Creo Parameters from Excel (1:34) and much more... Nitro-BOM also supports Excel Power Query -and- Macro Execution... so you can automate the transformation of Creo BOM Data with ease. For example: Creo Assembly Cost Summaries w/ Excel Power Query (3:07) Creo Assembly Description Differences w/ Excel Power Query (3:
Hello all, I am currently on a SAE team and we are learning to use the Framework extension. I am wondering if there is any sort of way to create custom tube profiles? We are using various sizes such as 1"x.095", 1"x.065" and 1"x.045" for our chassis. I checked the metric libraries and haven't found anything that size either. Thanks.
IS there any option to maintain two different nomenclature standard for Windchill part name & CREO file name
Hello, I'm new to creo and was wondering how to go about changing the rotation point in an assembly. When I have one part in the assembly, it is fine. The camera (view) when I hold middle click and move the mouse rotates about the center of the part. However, when I mate a long tube onto the first part it changes the point at which the view rotates and makes it hard to properly rotate the part to the orientation I want to see it in. How do I make it so that no matter how many parts are in the assembly, it still rotates about the original point? Thanks
Community, I have created some notes on a drawing, and I am trying to figure out how to make symbols float with the notes. Unlike the previous post where I asked how to make a leader note with a balloon note, this is a little different. For example, I can make a flag symbol with a note number inside the flag, but if I move the note, the flag symbol will not move with it. Unlike making a balloon note where I can choose offset, I could not find this feature with symbols, even under the attributes for symbols. Is there a way to do this? Thanks in advance.
Hello all.I´m simulating a bellow (optimizing some parameters) and it was constructed as "surface" in Creo - meaning that it has no thickness. So when I enter Simulate I can select all the faces and define them as "shell".The problem is - I think - there is not command for creating shells automatically in a component - you must select the surfaces. But my bellow was created as a pattern! This means when I update the number of convolutions, they will not became shells automatically. The optimization will fail.Is any work around? How to make Simulate to set automatically that the entire model is shell?I´ll have the same problem later when using pressure - if I create new surfaces the pressure over the new surfaces will not be automatically updated - but currently I don´t need to use pressure. One problem each time...Yes, I could use 3D elements and not shells. But is a lot quicker to use shells and I would like to keep it for this optimization stage.Thank you in advance
Hello all, I have an issue with creo 3.0 which occurs from time to time. Obviously I am inadvertently hitting a hotkey which make all of the quick access toolbar reduce to an icon only interface, see below: To date, the only solution I have for this is to close the part/assembly and reopen it in order to restore the default appearance (below). Anyone know of an easier fix?
Does anyone know how the metal will bend the image if the image is introduced into the sheet metal? The Appearance Gallery cannot cut images and cannot perform the operations I want. I want to use the following website to design a box with artwork: https://online.packmage.com/Online/Design/0003, How do I use CREO to make it?
Good morning, we need to know how the custom symbol (PMI) are exported in Neutral file. In particular we would like information on the syntax with which custom symbols are exported to the neutral file (for example "object_type"). Another question: Does the value of the object_type depend on the type of custom symbol associated? Thank you for your help.
Community, I went from Creo 6000 to Creo 6040, and I cannot find the ifx fastener data, as shown highlighted below. I have never encountered this before, even with the Lite version. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks in advance.
In this tutorial, you can learn How to place UDF Ladder members on the pillars on 3D model of the roller coaster - El Toro Six Flags.
Community, Is there a way to activate the LEADER TYPE menu to make a Leader Note? The Menu Manager on the right is from the balloon note activation. I want to be able to have an Integral on the end of my leader for a note. Thanks in advance.
Can anyone explain why pinning a file in the recent files list does not work very well? I pinned a couple of files, a few days ago, in the recent files list under the File tab, as I would do in many other programs. Today they are no longer pinned. Shouldn't they stay pinned until I unpin them? I am using 4.0 and I believe the issue has been in previous versions but I wasn't frustrated enough about it to ask the question.
Hello, while making my makefile of my own application I got the following errors: NMAKE : fatal error U1077: ….<a path>….: return code '0x2' Slightly before there were following errors: error C2065: 'ProModelitem': undeclared identifier I guess I didn´t include my header files correctly in my makefile, but I don´t really have a solution to my problem. My have my makefile attached. Thanks in advance
If I have a part with a large pattern of holes in it, is there a way to turn those holes off or on using Pro Program, for different family table instances of that part? So if this is my generic part. and I want one instance of this part to look like this.. and one instance to look like this Is there a way to do that in pro program so I can just create a parameter and turn those specific locations off or on? Thanks!! Nick W.

I am trying to work with feature creation using FET but I cant find any documentation on them. The TOOLKIT User Guide says that <creo_loadpoint>/includes should have header files with feature specific element trees but includes folder only has spgusrgl.h in it and that doesn't seem very useful for what I am trying to do. If anyone knows how to get the header files mentioned in the User Guide or has a better resource for understanding the FET attributes that would be greatly appreciated.
I have a chain type assembly with mechanism constraints (pin constraint). I want to assemble this chain with its ends connected to two different plates which you can see in the image. When i try to assemble it , i can assemble it to only one side. Can you help me ? Also i want to know how to independently move the links in chain i.e., to lock the movement of other mechanical contraints of chain and to move a single link?
Hey, I started to work with Creo Parametric Toolkit (C) a week ago. I have managed to understand the whole process of registering applications, working with makefiles and I read the first 80 pages of "tkuse.pdf" (the C-Documentation). Now I want to start developing my own application, but I find it very hard to understand examples like "pt_userguide" which contain a lot of .c files (with hundrets of lines) which are somehow connected to each other... How did you start with Toolkit or do you have any suggestion how I can understand the progress of making a TK-Application step by step? Thanks in advance, Florian
Community, Please read the below snippet. No how many times I restart Creo 6, I always get this port conflict warning. Is there a way to resolve this? This happened during a PTC technical support call where I requested that I do not want to use LMTools to create services. I am using a locked license for Creo Parametric, and flex admin for Creo Simulate. Also, it takes an extremely long time to start Creo. Thanks in advance.
As soon as we apply I cylinder joint in assembly a rotation direction is is start showing. How can we specify the direction like clockwise and anticlockwise or change the default rotation direction.
In Creo 4.0, how do you make a component cut out from parts in an assembly?
Hi all, I have to wite a routine that save a .pdf file of a drawing using the p/n, version and revision parameters specified for that part. Thanks to a lot of informations listed in this forum I was able to resolve part of the problem. I have written a mapkey routine that save the pdf, after loading a specific Profile, with a fixed name XXX and a .txt file with listed all the prameters of the part. Than I've written a batch file that use the informations listed in the .txt file and rename the pdf. file accordingly. What I wasn't able to do was to launch consequently the batch file inside the mapkey routine. Here is my code of the mapkey: mapkey $F3 @MAPKEY_NAMESave the active drawing as .pdf file;\ mapkey(continued) @MAPKEY_LABELSavePDF;~ Select `main_dlg_cur` `PHTLeft.AssyTree` 1 `node0`;\ mapkey(continued) ~ RButtonArm `main_dlg_cur` `PHTLeft.AssyTree` `node0`;\ mapkey(continued) ~ PopupOver `main_dlg_cur` `PM_PHTLeft.AssyT
