Creo+ and Creo Parametric

I have a problem with colors in simulation results. This problem occurs when I want to show results with continuous tone. PC specs: CPU - i5 6600K, GPU - GTX 1060 6GB, W10 64bit, drivers are updated, I have tried also clean boot of Windows.

In Windchill 10.1, In the folder view of any container, when you click on the name field of any document, it takes you to the details page of the document. So the names are actually hyperlinks to the details of the document. My requirement is to export these hyperlinks from windchill into excel sheet using export list to xlsx from actions menu in the folder page Please reply if any one had an idea of how this can be done

Hello, I'm trying to create a part using sheet metal option, so I could unbend, cut, etc... and band back. The part is similar to a rolled corrugated paper strip. My plan to use a 2D spiral curve base and add pattern features along its sweep direction equally spaced.   Can I do it with Creo Sheetmetal? I couldn't figure out an easy way to do that. Hello I need to delete some components in an assembly with jlink. I noticed the method Model.Delete() but when i use it nothing seems to be deleted. I havent seen any examples with this method call.   Thank you Regards  

Is it possible to use ModelCheck to see if a drawing has a particular table? I've tried using the TABLE_CELLS and DRW_TABLE_CELLS but this check seems very limited and only activates if the table exists in the first place.

Simple case, I want to update the model mass, then this value being updated automatically in an excel cell. Is that possible ?. thanks in advance

Hi,   On 6.0.   Is it possible to redefine the ordinate origin of zero? See attached.   I can redefine each dimension off zero by right mouse clicking. But no options to relocate zero.   Do they all have to be done over?   Thanks,   WayneF

I created a drawing with datum feature symbols A, B, C & D in 2D drawing mode for a part. Then I saved the drawing/part as another part number to create a similar part. After some model editing on the new part, the datum feature symbol for datum D went missing. When I tried to create a new datum feature symbol D, the next letter Creo wanted to use was E. When I manually forced it to D, an error window said that it was a "Duplicated Label". There was no entry in the drawing tree for a datum D symbol.   Anybody else come across this and find a solution?   Thanks, Shane

Hello all.   I´ll post again something that I have included in another post (Question about weight link and distance of the dependent side) – but now with a new interpretation.   Creo Simulate has a classical example that a component is replaced by a point at CG and its mass. This CG point is connected to respective anchor points.   An example would be a motor block connected to a frame. The goal is to verify the eigenfrequency of the frame. To include the motor block in the meshing is thus not needed. CG and mass (or advanced mass) is enough. If the CG of the motor is connected to the beds via rigid links the eigenfrequency of the frame is completely different than using weighted link – nothing new here.   But we can also think that the block is rigid enough – but not really the connection. Each motor-frame connection transmits only forces – but not moments. A ball joint link. This should be possible to simulate but it would require one weighed link for each connec

I want to call out in a note in the drawing automatically the value of the drawing property "projection_type". How can I do this? I tried with "&projection_type" but was not successful.   Thx, Peter  

Hi,   I have a lot of assemblys that have to retrieve parts/assemblys from other folders. One solution that worked, was to add lines into the search.pro-file, that points to the folder, in which the parts are stored.   But I think that it slows creo down when I add a lot of paths into the search.pro-file. Especially when I work from home it takes a lot of time to open files. Most of the time the assemblys have to retrieve files from only 2-3 folders. Then the other 20-30 folders in the search.pro-file are senseless. I added so many folders because I want to be flexible and don't have to edit the search.pro-file every time I open another model.   Is there a solution for this problem ? I tried to put a search.pro-file directly into the folder where the main-assembly-file is (which loads the other files) but creo doesn't load it automatically.   Thanks, Maik        

Hi   I would like to speed up as much as possible the working directory setting. Our final working directory is often a number that can vary from 1 to 9999 I would like to set up a procedure started with a mapkey (or, if it makes sense, any other way) asking this item code number and setting the working directory. The directory before this item code number can be the same (if the customer is the same) or can change (if the Customer is another one)   Let's make an example:   N:\ProE_Docs\Forgings\CustomerName1\10N:\ProE_Docs\Forgings\CustomerName1\123N:\ProE_Docs\Forgings\CustomerName2\9999 So, this path can change on the last two directories.Is that possible to read a database where every item code number  is assigned to a CustomerName, in order to know how to set the right path for that item?In this way, when I call the macro, an input ask me the item number, read on the database to know the CustomerName assigned to that item code number and than the working direct

For our plastic parts, we have a tool table that tracks the Rev of the tool for the plastic part separately from the drawing itself. This way, we can revise the drawing for a spelling mistake without changing the tool Rev. Is this what is typically found in the industry? What do you guys do, if not this? 

I have generally tried to convert assemblies to parts via Shrinkwrap for the purpose of IDF import. However, in some cases, I cannot get a shrinkwrapped assembly to include all of the necessary features, and quite often the shrinkwrapped file size is many times greater than the sum of the original parts, regardless of the number of repetitions in the assembly.   I also don't want to dump all of the files in those assemblies into the flat structure that contains all of the ECAD parts. I want to keep the assemblies in subfolders or zip archives.   However, Creo Parametric cannot locate my .asm files in zip archives or subfolders. Is there an option that will enable this?

Hello, I´ve just started working on a project, where I should integrate a calculation tool in Creo Parametric. I thought it would be a good idea to write the program in Java and run it via the "External Analysis" option in Creo. Now I have some questions: -I need to solve a Surface Integral in my external Java program, therefore I need to pass a curve or some curve points (maybe as vector?) to my Java program, so it can solve the Surface Integral numerically. But I can only pass dimensions and parameters of the Creo part to an external file (.csv,...) and I didnt find a way to define a vector of points or anything similar as parameter. How can I do that? -There is only very few information how the "External Analysis" Tool works in the Creo Documentation. Which "Script Commands" do I have to use to start an external program (which reads the data from a .csv file and asks me for further input and then solves the Surface Integral)? -Is there a better way of developing such a tool? Hello community, I´d like to make a technical drawing of an model which I created. This model is a small plate and it has the dimensions 18x18x1,6 [mm]. Now, because it´s so small I created the views in scale 4:1 (4 times bigger than in real life).    My problem appears when I am dimensioning the 2D-view. The view is 4:1 but the measurement is like 1:1 (it does not multiply with the scale): 1:1 Real model: 18mm 4:1 scaled model: 18mm (but normally it should be 4x18mm = 72mm)   When I make a sketch in the drawing and make a dimensioning of it, it makes the correct scaling operation. As an Info: I didn´t took the "View Model Notes"-Option. I did the dimensioning all manually for better overview.   Could it be that the geometries of the model can not be scaled properly or do you have any idea how to get rid of my problem?   Thanks in advance!  

Hello, I have successfully installed CREO Parametric and whenever I try to open it (normally as well as an administrator), the loading icon appears next to the cursor and disappears after 3-4 seconds but CREO parametric does not open and I don't even get any error messages.    So, I don't even know what's wrong. Greetings all.   Does anybody know if there is a way to take a screenshot inside of Creo within a window? I currently use the printscreen button and paste it into Paint. I then select the area I want and put that in an email. I am looking for a way to select a window in Creo and paste that into an email without having to use Paint.   Thank you in advance for your assistance.

1. example pfcUDFCreateExamples.html comes with Creo at "...\Common Files\M230\weblink\weblinkexamples"  2. It can work but needs a click to specify the csys to place the UDF <--- problem !!! csys is given whey still needs a click?  find the source code and necessary .prt .gph to see the symptom. Hi,   Is there a way by which we can show a Specific component of a Sub-Assy in the BOM TABLE of the Main Assy??I am aware that this can be done through Flat and Recursive Option, but I am wondering if this can be done through the use of Relations/ Rules so that the manual work can be eliminated. The Pipe part number is unique.   Example: The Main ASSY below is made of Sub-Assy1 and Sub-Assy2. I would like to show the Pipe in the BOM table of Main Assy. so the Idea is to include all the pipes in the Bom table of main assy if they are ever used in any of the sub assemblies.   Final BOM table: Thanks, Deepak

Hi,   I have created an animation using different explosions of an assembly and want to add an animation, which shows the model rotating 360°.   I've tried to add a MDO-Animation(with servomotor)  to the explosion-animation, but it doesn't connect both animations. It creates a new separate animation.   So how can I create the animation that shows the model rotating 360° ? When I create an explosion-state with the model rotated 360° it doesn't move at all.   Thanks, Maik

Creo 4.0 M120, Windchill  11.2.1.2 We recently changed VARs and migrated from Creo 3.0 M140. I have noticed the timing for logging into my session now comes after a workspace action request. In Creo 3.0, it was immediately after launch. The new timing for login is not conducive to crashes/improper closings and attempting to RETRIEVE open files at the crash. If we chose to RETRIEVE, we get "failure to open ****" messages that we either are prompted to ignore or cancel the retrieval. If we ignore (which is usually for all the files), after all the prompts, nothing opens and then the user is prompted to login. If they had been logged in before, all files would've been retrieved....in theory.   So here's the question....where is the preference to change when the user is prompted to login? I have been searching (as Windchill Admin) for 3 days and have found nothing relatable. Is it an upper level system Admin preference setting?  Thank you for your help. (PS...I'm a super use

I don't know how it happened but Creo created a Family Table for an assembly without me knowing it... How can this happen?
