Creo+ and Creo Parametric

My program involves automated configuration of assemblies.  I am exporting the results as STEP files using ProIntf3DFileWrite.   The 5th argument is reference Csys,  a ProSlection, This argument takes NULL for default csys, but I need a specific csys in my case for future assembly of the step file.    My program runs non-interactively, so there is no one selecting the csys.   I know the name of the Csys and have code where I am successfully finding and obtaining  the handle.    What I cannot seem to figure out is how to convert this csys handle to a Pro Selection.  Any ideas?   Thanks!

in Creo 6, I'm trying to display my dimension units as primary fractional inches and secondary feet-inches.  An example of what I WANT is:   Primary - 332 1/4 Secondary - 27' 8-1/4"   I know about the drawing option use_major_units yes, however, what that does is change inch units to feet-inches.  So, if this option is set to "no", my units look like this:   Primary - 332-1/4 Secondary - 27-11/16   The primary units are fine, but the secondary shows as fractional feet, instead of feet-inches.  If I set use_major_units to "yes", it looks like this:   Primary - 27' 8-1/4" Secondary - 27-11/16   Now the primary units show what I want as secondary units, but the secondary units still show up as fractional feet instead of feet inches, and of course if I set my secondary units to inches, all I get is the same thing as my primary.   Surely many others have wanted to show their dimensions as I do, but I can't figure out how to do it. 

I was trying to save a conveyor assembly file that i made in creo parametric 6 to a pvz file as i need to make some service documents for the same in creo illustrate. But, as i press OK, it takes some time and crashes leaving a traceback log file. I have attached the file here if someone can help me with this.    P.S. This doesn't happen with other big assemblies. Don't know why this happens everytime with the conveyor model.

Hello,   I created a working weld symbol for Creo Pro/WELD. It works exactly as I want it to in new assemblies, but in any assembly with existing welds, it is the old Pro/WELD symbol.   I have deleted the default fillet.sym in: C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 4.0\M060\Common Files\symbols\library_syms\weldsymlib\ansi_weld\simple\ This was replaced with my own fillet.sym, and again, it works great in new assemblies and drawings.   Does anybody know how to get the symbol to update for assemblies with existing weld?

i had installed student version of creo 6.0.2.0 after installing my license  successfully I got sw license file in email. I had pasted in C:\ProgramData\PTC\Licensing     while my internet connection is connected creo parametric application was opening with out warning message list but when i had disconnected my internet connection i was unable to open creo application it was showing warning message list. again i had connected my internet connection but it was not opening.

I have some complicated simulation templates I set up in Creo 2.0 which are controlled by lots of parameters; some in the local model, some in flexible components.  To demystify what all the options are, I collected everything into one on-screen control panel; an annotation feature with flat-to-screen text.  It includes all the user adjustable parameters, some instructions, and various outputs.  Parameters that can be adjusted are surrounded with a box, so it's clear which parts are meant to be edited (e.g. "@[&parameter_name@]").  This is a lot easier than browsing the parameters dialog, since that is also filled with lots of boilerplate PDM stuff, and your typical novice user wouldn't know how to find component level parameters that way (or even that they should).   The control panel worked great in Creo 2.0!  If on the "Annotation" tab of the ribbon, you could simply double-click on any of the boxes, and be prompted to edit a new value for the param

Helo, I have imported an Inventor assembly but the Datums, planes, axis etc. there not visible.    I have tried to setup the import profile, File > Options > Data Exchange > import and open profiles. I have set up a new profile using Template (creo), unfortunately with no effect. If Edit definition > IDD the import part, with the component, surface group the are also the datums , but they aren't visible in the model tree. As shown in the picture bellow. Is there a procedure to make them visible in the model tree? Is there any other more proper way to import the files?   Thank you in advance  Apostolis

Hello, I recently switched from Creo 3.0 to Creo 4.0. I have this problem when I copy features from one part to another. Original references of copied features from the first part could not be recognized after Paste special>Advanced references in the other part in the assembly. For example I am copying 6 holes from part_1.prt to part_2.prt. When I make "Paste Special" I need to change ONLY first reference "Surf:F6 (EXTRUDE_1)" but other references of axis need to be unchanged (below picture):     On picture you can see lost original references - small red dot...   Please how to resolve this situation/problem in Creo 4.0?   Thanks!      

Hi 1. can i do a static stress analysis simulation on 2 wlded parts (i have added the welding feature with the "application" module out of the understanding that maybe this is the only way CREO can do the simulation)- if not, what is the best way to do it ?

Creo 2.0 m100 (Welding): Creo allows me to toggle between using the ISO Welding Standard and the ANSI Welding Standard. But can I tell Creo that I want to use an UPDATED VERSION of the ANSI/AWS Standard? Is there a way to import newer versions of the Welding Standard support files into Creo's support directory structure? (Note: I am aware that existing default weld symbols may be edited or replaced with user-defined weld symbols, but I am looking for a way to change the core ANSI Standard's definition across the board within Creo to conform to a newer version of the ANSI/AWS Weld Standard.) Thanks in advance.

I have an assembly with almost 500 parts in it.  Is there a way to change all the densities at once?  More ideally, I would like to be able to select large groups and change, say ~300 parts to one density, then select another large group (steel), say ~200 parts to change to a different density (aluminum).  I do not want to have to change the density part by part in the model tree showing MP_Density.  I would prefer solution where I can select the large groups, then change all their densities together in a few steps.     Thanks, Will

I have a pattern in a family table the does not work correctly.  The group is shown below in red, but the round does not get pulled through to all the pattern members.  The model below is the generic.     Below is another instance from the family table where the pattern worked for about half of the pattern, then stopped.   I would appreciate any thoughts.  Thanks

Is there a way to make CREO 3.0 display the Model Properties --> UNITS in the Information bar at the bottom (or anywhere else for that matter)? It would be nice to see [mmKs] displayed somewhere on the information bar, or [IPS] or whatever the case may be. When doing an assembly, it is extremely annoying to have parts that do not match to completely ravage the work just because one forgot to change the units properly. Thank you, Colin.

Reading through the Creo documentation a bit and noticed this line: "Features in an intersected part should not directly or indirectly reference an assembly cut." On this page of the doc: http://support.ptc.com/help/creo/creo_pma/usascii/index.html#page/assembly%2Fasm%2Fasm_five_sub%2FAbout_Assembly_Features_in_Part.html%23   I thought that sounded like an interesting concept so I just did a quick test despite it sounding like it was going to be impossible. It actually seems to work. I assembled a basic cylinder part by itself, created an assembly-level hole feature, then intersected it with the cylinder to make it a part-level feature. Then I activated the cylinder, added another hole after Assembly Hole 1, and used the surface of the first hole as a reference.  Anybody got any idea why the help files say to not do that? It seems like it'd be an amazingly handy feature, but I can certainly see it causing circular refs or crashes if you were to start rearranging the mode

Community,   I would like to be able to erase the drawing names from memory in the pull-down under Name.  Selecting the "-" will not erase the names from memory.  Can this be accompolished?  I am using Creo 6.0.0.0, and thanks in advance.    

Hi,   I am trying to compare the flow in different ducts. The duct inlet is smaller in area than the duct outlet. The way I want to compare the duct is that I am applying fixed pressure at inlet and outlet in all variants of the duct and comparing the mass flow rate in each duct for same pressure boundary condition.    The problem is my duct is smaller at inlet and bigger at outlet, So I can't apply a higher pressure at inlet and lower pressure at outlet. So I applied lower pressure at inlet and higher at outlet. Please see attached results and geometry images.  Due to higher pressure at inlet and lower at outlet, my streamlines return back immediately to inlet after getting out from the inlet. My velocity and pressure plots looks reasonable but it seams there is some problem with flow direction. Can anyone explain this.  Also my mass flux at inlet is positive, which should be negative if the flow is entering in to the duct at inlet. Please see attached images.

Hello, I would like to catch the first GOTO in CL file and output Z first (only for the first goto). In the CL I have: SPINDL / RPM, 7957.753876,  CLWRAPID GOTO / 835.8168781015, 779.7292319751, 30.0000000000 In the post-processed file I get (yes G1 because I forced not tot have G0): G1X835.817Y779.729Z30F9999 But I would like to have 2 different lines like below (I would like to have F1000 for example): G1Z30F1000 G1X835.817Y779.729Z30F9999 (I can repeat the same line like it is) Thanks for your help.  

Hi,   In a drawing, I want to identify the notes that are boxed. Kindly suggest any API to get the detail of a note, if the text in a note is having box around it.   Thanks.
