In WF4 Mechanica, is there a method to insert a displacement instead of aload force of PSI? I know a surface on a beam has to move .065", but Idon't know the force required to make it move that far. I want to know thestress when the section has moved .065". Regards,Kelly BryantTeknovation, Inc.kelly.bryant@teknovation.net601.450.0078
All, Looking for input on how to make a flat feature as a udf. Accomplished (pictures) in solid and shelled but would like a UDF to use within piping. Is this type feature capable of being a UDF in piping?
My text vertical alignment is always set to "TOP" and greyed out. This is in models and drawings. Anyone know how to un-grey?
My problem is, there doesn't seem to be a way to insert the callout_format into the hole table, the callout format creates a note when enabled, but it would be much better for my needs if it created a parameter (which I can link to in the hole table) with the note in it self, or at least it would create a parameters which simply links to the note where the callout format is.
Hi all, I have a huge assembly file, and would like to assemble a bolt to many locations in model. I set up a skeleton with a shrinkwrap of a query in top model for all "coordinates" that are named HARDWARE_COORD*. Is there a way to auto assemble all the components to each and every coordinate? I would assume it can be done with programming , but I am not sure. I cant use a point pattern because there are many in different orientations. I can go through and do a repeat, but this is time consuming.
Anyone find a way to change the top main menu bar in Creo 6 from black back to grey. Killer on the eyes! Thanks, Dan
Hi to all, This is my first post, I have searched this topic anywhere but it seems to be unexplored. I have encountered some problems to import a jpeg file into a part. My colleagues make it work without problems, despite we are using the same Creo date code (6.0.3.0) and the same 'config' file. I am trying to import this picture into a part to draw over it by 'model display/images/import'. This is what I should obtain - is a screenshot from my coworker PC. This is what I obtain on my workstation: the image is shrunk, deformed and multiplied as if it was a sort of wallpaper. I obtain this result with jpeg, png, tiff images, with every kind of picture. My colleagues, on the contrary, make it work with every kind (and size) of picture. I have the same problem even I try to apply images as appearances. It seems to be an importation problem. Our settings seem to be the same... what can I try? &nbs
We have been using freeform a lot recently to design toys. As we move into the production tooling phase we need to split the bodies into two or more parts. There are a few issues with this process: These toys are character sculpts that have to go through different approval phases. As we get to production approval we need to tighten up the final surfaces. No body wants a wild parting line so we try to tweak the surfaces in freestyle to smooth out the partling line - it would be VERY useful to have a live draft analaysis happening while we do these tweaks so we can see the effects of the edit on the parting line. Better yet, would be to have a feature that ThinkDesign has had since around 2001 (regardless of your thoughts on the Think3 product - and I have plenty negative ones, having been a user - this was a killer feature for many). In that, you create the parting line 3D curve you desire, then use Global shape modelling to force the surfaces to change to that new curve s
We're offering a series of quick Creo tutorials presented by our expert product managers. Each of these tutorials are just a few minutes long. These bite-sized tips are a perfect opportunity to learn a new skill or ensure you're following best practices. Below you’ll find about 15 minutes of video how-tos to help you boost your CAD know-how. Let's get started. Shrinkwrap All Quilts When you create a Shrinkwrap feature, by default, Creo automatically analyzes all components in the assembly and determines which ones will be included in the shrinkwrap. This could result in subassembly quilts being excluded. However, you can use the Search Tool to help find and select all quilts in the assembly. In this tutorial, Arnaud van de Veerdonk, Creo Product Manager, shows you how to use shrinkwrap to copy all quilts from all models in an assembly. How would I go about calling out the part numbers in a 3D assembly model? Is there a Symbol that would work? Thanks
I created an Exploded View of my assembly, added annotations but when I created a Combined State for this, all my annotations disappeared. What could be wrong?
Hello forum, I have already selected "German" in the Options at "Startup": However, Creo View still starts in English all the time. What do I do to change the UI language to "German"?
Hello Forum, I have noticed that on my laptop in Creo View 6.1, assemblies are displayed rather pixelated (without any anti-aliasing). However, on my desktop PC with the same version of Creo View, the models are displayed smooth and sharp with antialiased lines Why is this different, and how can I get anti-aliasing also on the laptop?
Hello Community, Is it possible to insert double mirroring in Freestyle. I want to develop a 4 corner symmetric bottle design, I am using a mirror, it only up to front and Back mirroring. I want to develop only 1/4th of design and it should be symmetric to all direction.
HI all, I have being using Creo 2/3 now for 2 years, Is there a simple way of only showing a few planes in assembly mode. I tried the layers but I have to go into each part and hide them form there, its a lot of clicking, I mean every part has 3 planes and 3 axis min, some of my assemblies have 50 + parts with lots of construction planes/axis. As an example, In solidworks/Inventor, all planes are off by default and you click the ones you want to show from the model tree. something like that would be nice and save lots of time /mistakes assembling to the wrong plane. Thanks in advance.Pat.
Because if you are right handed, when you are in a numerical value box anywhere in CREO, if you are at the end of the text, when you click and drag to the left to select text, your arm moves naturally through an arc down and to the left. But, the only way CREO can select text in a box is if you click and drag up and to the left (or down and to the right.)
This was a nice overview we did a while back for how to use Excel Power Query to automatically catch problems with descriptions between Creo Parametric Models and ERP Cost Data. Note: Nitro-BOM is used to facilitate the data extraction from Creo .. BUT the principles shown for Excel Power Query would work regardless of how you get the BOM Data. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oE-SgnyH4zI
I exported DXF files of PCB shape with default settings(Exported .dwg files to .dxf). When these files were opened in Altium, the notes were missing. Needed help in understanding what settings are to be made so that the notes are seen in DXF file when opened in Altium.
Hello, This topic is very closed to the Article - CS149279. I would like to know, how to propagate the three misc datas (COOLANT_OPTION, COOLANT_PRESSURE, SPINDLE_SENSE) specified in a tool to a sequence ? Thank you for your help.
Hi, I have used simplified representations to "break" up a robotic arm in three sections that I assemble and then use mechanisms to animate the movement with server motors. If I then go to Applications -> Animation I get a warning that "Cannot enter Design Animation application with Graphics rep or Symbolic Rep. Does this mean that I can only use the limited animation functionality within the Mechanism application? Also I try to change the background to white, but when I try to capture an animation I get the first fram with white background and the following have a white to blue transition background, similar to what the default background was 15 years ago.
Hi Forum, I know that it is possible to transfer annotation sets that have been created in one assembly model, say in "ABC.ASM", to another assembly, say to "XYZ.ASM". To my knowledge, you can do that either in Windchill or in Creo. Is such annotation set transfer also possible using Creo View? In particular, is it possible to transfer annotation sets from a PVZ file to a model that is stored in Windchill? The use case is that team members without access to Windchill want to create annotation sets in a PVZ file, and these annotation sets shall later be transferred back to the server-stored assembly model in Windchill. Thanks for any information on whether/how this is possible!
Hello, What does it mean the red line under the annotation geometric tolerance? Creo 6.0.4.0 Thanks 🙂
Hi Everyone, I am trying to create a UDF that produces a part with a specific geometry and I also want to be able to change a variable parameter (Yes or No) on initiation of the UDF to toggle the suppression a specific feature. I was able to create the UDF what produced the geometry I would like. I was also able to use Pro Program to toggle a feature based on a Yes/No parameter. Now, I am having trouble figuring out how to combine these. Is this even possible to do? On Creo 4.0 btw Thank, Jacob
I'm new to Creo but not to CAD. I often dimesion to the centerplane of a feature of size. I've been told that when creating a datum plane in Creo there is no option for datum centered between planes. I just want to verify that this is true and centerplanes must be created by using a relation or creating geometry at the center of my feature to use as reference.Very disappointed if this is the case.
Is there anyway to input a custom symbol into notes in a model? I can get a standard symbol to work (Standard1) but I cannot get a custom one to work using the &sym(Symbol_name) command.
