How to create leader note in the drawing ? Same as in this picture. Please help me. Thank you so much!
Hey community, I have been working to make a cylindrical x-grid type thing, which I did successfully, but I am curious if there is a more efficient way to create curved grids like this, panel isogrids, etc. I flattened a cylinder and added an extruded pattern to it, which wasn't crazy difficult but pattern generation took a decent amount of time. Is there a way to do this using tools that require less computing time, or a common practice like making sections of grids and join them in an assembly? Attached is an image of the model tree and the part. x_grid_prtx_grid_sketch
I am trying to create a copy of an existing drawing giving it a new number. I have set the option: rename drawings with object = both Both the Model and the Drawing have the same part number and are open / in session. I "SAVE AS" - (Save as Copy), and enter the NEW PART NUMBER. I end up with a New Drawing, but no new part. The part in the drawing still shows the Old Part Number. Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong? CREO 2.0 Thanks. -Art
Hi, just installed Creo 4.0 M100. We have some J-Link tools, now complaining about missing JRE. C:\PTC\Creo 4.0\M100\Common Files\x86e_win64\obj\JRE M070 still had JRE included. When I copy the JRE folder from M070 to M100 everything works. Is there a way to use the "standard" JRE installed? C:\program files\... JAVA_HOME is set correctly. Or should I copy the files to C:\PTC\Creo 4.0\M100\Common Files\x86e_win64\obj\JRE I'd like to use an up-to-date version. I assume WIndchill will use the version from JAVA_HOME, not Creo folder. br Bernhard
I want to display the drawing Version. I found this syntax in article CS46405 &ptc_wm_version:d but it doesn't work Who can help me?Thanks
Dear All, How can I call a dwell cycle in the wire-edm contouring step? I work on creo 6 Thanks for your help Regards!
Pretty simple. I want to filter objects that are missing a parameter. Not that the parameter is blank, the parameter doesn't exit for that specific part. I tried filtering by a Null value for the parameter, doesnt work. &asm.mbr.REV_DRAWING != ""
Hi, I have tried to make a barrel cam. I have seen previous threads about this topic on this forum. I know that this is tricky geometry and I have tried different methods. I have attached files below with the cutter tool assemblied with a slot constraint to check for interference. There is very little interference but it is there and I want to see if I can model it with no interference. This part was previoulsy made by pattern a revolved cut in increments of .005. This way is not wrong but I wanted to see if I could do it another way. I had seen a previous response by Tim McLellan but I couldnt quite get his method to work. I think the sharper the corner the more the geometry gets distorted.
Request the ability to pass parameter values to the Operation Comments section for display in the NCL / Post processor file.
Hi all, I am using A. CPP file to develop a synchronous application using toolkit. While I try to debug I get error " No Symbols have been loaded for this document" But when I use A.C file there was no error I can debug step by step. Kindly guide me Regards MS
Hi, We are trying to delete all the existing notes on a particular sheet of drawing and creating notes on the same sheet. On doing so, deleting the existing notes is happening. We are able to create the notes as well. But on positioning the notes based on co ordinate system is not happening correctly. Since its an automation project , we are not supposed to do anything manually, everything is to be done through coding. // Allocate and initialize the memory for a detail attachment. status= ProDtlattachAlloc(PRO_DTLATTACHTYPE_FREE, views_flatpattern, pos, NULL, &p_attachment); // pos refers to x, y and z co ordinates. Null is being passed for proselection in the above function. May be this particular function is not being used properly // Sets an attachment for the specified note.status = ProDtlnotedataAttachmentSet(notedata, p_attachment); // convert a text to notedata ProStringToWstring(wtext, text);ProDtlnotetextStringSet(dtl_text, wtext); stat
Does anyone know of a software program that works with CREO and can analyze a plastic part design? This would include checking drafts (including parts with slides and/or lifters), uniform wall thickness, rib height and base width, undercuts, etc... Thank you
I've got a problem with datum tags in drawings. (Creo 4.0 M070) When created in model as the new workflow suggests the datum tag line goes through the datum tag on the drawing. If I create the datum tag within the drawing the datum tag looks good. I don't want to do it this way, I want to define it in the model but I can't stand how it looks. It only applies to surfaces that's not horizontal or vertical. See example below. (The upper datum tag is created within the drawing and the lower is created in the model) Best regards Alex
Does anyone know of a way to convert a large database of step AP203 files to A214?
I am looking at the documentation for Creo 4 and Creo 5. There are no Dell laptops that are on Windows 10 supported for Creo4/5. Did I miss something in those documents? It also doesn't list ANY laptops in the Creo 6 document. What is going on???
Hi, I've just installed Creo Parametric 4.0 on my laptop (yes my college is still using the 4th version) but when the installation is finished I open Parametric but I haven't the top toolbar in the main menu and in the pieces that I'm trying to edit. I can't edit my piece even with a right-click on the windows. many thanks in advance 😉 Here's a screenshot :
HI, I have a Creo part file which has certain parameters locked by ATB source. I would like to delete these parameters but it doesn't allow me to delete them. Could someone suggest a way to delete these parameters please? Thanks in advance!
I am trying to get a material to use a restricted value parameter... that is also a parameter table. I have successfully made a restricted value parameter file with a table in it that the part parameters have no trouble using. I can add a parameter to the material (.mtl) file using that RVP table.... but when I save the .mtl file with those new parameters it some how invalidates the .mtl file rendering it unreadable next time. When I remove the parameters that were placed with the RVP table it can be read again. I tried using a table in the .mtl file, but realized that I didn't know the syntax for calling the table header info.... I noticed the first lines of the .mtl and the RVP.txt files are called out differently. Any shared knowledge would be great!
Hi all, does anyone else agree with me that the N-sided surface feature is a little gem that deserves more respect? It is buried so deep in the software that most new users as well as more experienced users don't even realise it exists. I am finding more & more instances where this feature can be used & it produces some truly outstanding surfaces. It is such a shame that it is hidden from view, that it is not readily accessible in the UI like other features such as Boundary Blend or Sweep. It is also a shame that PTC cannot bring this feature into the 21st century as they have done with other features, bring the UI in line with the rest of the software, give it a face lift as it were. It would be great if they could enhance the feature too. To be able to change the resultant surface a little by being able to move the central point where all surfaces converge would be awesome. Come on PTC, breath some life into this wonderful feature, give it the respect it deserves, don't conti
hi here, i'm new to ptc creo parametric and to this forum .. so hello world. i post here because i have a problem with mechanism design. i tried to use spring mecanism. but, if compression spring seems to work, torsion spring do not. for explain my issue i want to model an assembly similar in function to a clothespin : i modeled a basement and these constraints (it seems to be ok) and an axis with a mechanical pivot bond. i used this bond to start my spring. starting works but when bonding should to be acheived, there is no display of the spring preview... and no possibility to set diameter... but validating is possible. so i don't understand... i'll use this screenshot to explain better. spring have to be linked to a slot in basement and to another slot in axis, like represented. i want to use this model to calculate spring deformation with moment -or other - force applied to this axis. i hope anyone will help
Hi all, In the past, to split up my hole tables I have used the method of selecting the table, clicking paginate. clicking set extend and selecting a row, then adding the segement. I am for some reason having trouble with the "set extent" step for some reason. When I select the table, the click paginate, a message appears in the lower text manager saying "could not set extent" immediately. I click on the set extent button and click on a row and the message remains "could not set extend". I cant get it to let me set the extent for the life of me. Any idea as to why this is all of a sudden an issue? I am on creo 4.0 and this has worked perfectly fine before (on same drawing even). Thanks for any help, Taylor
I am working with Creo 4.0 M60 I am trying to paginate a hole table but am running into the issue of trying to "Set Extent". I get the error message "Could not set extent." It looks like someone had the same issue 15 months ago with no solution: https://community.ptc.com/t5/Detailing-MBD-MBE/Seperating-hole-table-on-to-multiple-sheets/m-p/560960 ... and here Martin talks about "Set Extent" which I cannot do: https://community.ptc.com/t5/Detailing-MBD-MBE/Repeat-Region-table-fitting-on-the-sheet/m-p/619460 The help file talks of "Set Extent" too: https://support.ptc.com/help/creo/creo_pma/r6.0/usascii/index.html#page/detail%2Fhole_table_custom_create.html%23 https://support.ptc.com/help/creo/creo_pma/r6.0/usascii/index.html#page/detail%2FTo_Break_Report_Tables_on_the_Same_Sheet.html%23 Thanks, Dale
Through the power of search, I found this parameter (PTC_CONSTRAINT_SET) to help me insert a single part into an assembly, and place it in different locations using different constraint sets. During my search, I found this and used it in my assembly relations. if POSITION == 2 PTC_CONSTRAINT_SET:FID_40 = "Set_no_2"endif if POSITION == 1 PTC_CONSTRAINT_SET:FID_40 = "Set_no_1"endif It works exactly how I need EXCEPT, the sub-assembly is dynamic, meaning when condition 2 exists, the rest of the sub-assembly changes sizes. When condition 1 exists, the part is located on the side, when condition 2 exists, it is located on the front. It positions the parte parallel to all of its constraints upon regenerate, but it does not "snap" to the surface It needs to. Although the sub-assembly is changing dimensionally, the parts are the same, and the constraining surfaces are the same, so no constraints are being broken, they just ar
Hello, When I exclude a component from my 2D section, I still have the hatch part who are visible. On the properties of my Drawing view, i have selected the "hidden line removal for xhatches" on YES Do you have any solution ? section with exclude part and undesire hatch section without exclude part
Not able to retrieved all the displayed ordinate dimensions(start from "oad","od","ad") of a drawing view through Creo Parametric Toolkit API. I am using ProDrawingDimensionVisit() API which is provide some dimension but not all the dimensions from drawing,It provide all the dimension if the drawing has been created by setting the config.pro option "create_drawing_dims_only" is to Yes.This information is already mentioned in the user guide for Pro/Toolkit.My Pain area is already drawing had made without setting the config.pro option.I need all the dimension for retrieve its decimal place.
