Hi,I wonder if there is a way to save the istances of an generic assembly in individual assembliesEx:I have an assembly with 5 instances. Every instance contain components that belongs to other generic.I would like to know if there is a way for these 5 instances to be saved into individula assemblies with no connection to the previous generic and also the subcomponents that are used in instances that belongs to other generic to be saved individual without any coection to the generic.In few words i'm not allowed to use anymore the instaces. All assemblies, parts are not allowed to have any instance or to be an instance of a generic.I'm asking this because I have around 300 generics with ~40 instances. In total if I'm going to break the family table will be a huge number >20.000 models.I found a toolkit program that is able to break the family table in separatly models but it's able to do just for level1 and not for subcomponents(level2)Any ideea how I ca break these femily tables bef

I found few JavaScript examples, one shown below and it works fine on Windows HTA script (JavaScript).  VBA Set cAC = New CCpfcAsyncConnection ' VBA JavaScript // equivalant to the line above but in JavaScriptcAC = new ActiveXObject("pfcls.pfcAsyncConnection") // this line works fine But I can't find other equivalent statements in JavaScript like this:  VBA Set Mitem = New CMpfcModelItem JavaScript   Mitem = what? // don't know how to do this in JavaScript Also this example: VBA Dim type as EpfcFeatureTypetype = EpfcFeatureType.EpfcFEATTYPE_HOLE     JavaScript     what's the equivalent statement in javascript?   

Hi everyone,   I am looking for help to learn how to make automation in design. I would like to create models that I can easily reuse, simply by modifying some parameters or options. For example a diameter or a length but also whether or not I want to activate this extrusion or that drilling.... etc. I already know I can automate parameters by using a simple excel sheet. I found this tutorial in video : Creo Parametric Excel Entegrasyonu - YouTube and also this one showing we even don't need to open Creo to modify the parameters (just excel) Video Link : 6428 Sadly I found nothing about how to create options on the design (extrusions, drilling, etc) Actually, only a video that shows it is possible on SolidWorks with KBEWorks. Hi,   Through development, we are trying to apply inventor's bom tool to Creo. ProMdl's graphic information must be ready to display. If you don't have ProMdl's graphics information, you should use ProRasterFileWrite to prepare your graphics information. (Is there any other way?)ProRasterFileWrite has a lot of margin in image conversion, and it takes a lot of conversion time for each ProMdl. (I think it is fatal to the large assembly structure)     We need advice from those who have troubled or solved the PTC Community with the same problem as me. Hi, We are developing a tool to configure and automate Creo models. Many customers use Windchill. Anyone with experience how to automate parameter changes, suppression, replace, etc. when the Creo models are located in Windchill workspace? Please share any experience you have.   Our problem today is that Windchill local cache is encrypted and we can make changes. Is it possible to store unencrypted Creo files from Windchill? Is it possible to decrypt them? Or do we simply need a Windchill integration as well? How would that work?

Hi. I've installed Creo 6, and I made sure to check all the Toolkit boxes, including the VBA API. I have declared the system variable and registered the server, as shown in the VB User Guide. but when I try to select the Creo VBA library as a reference in Excel, it's not there. Anyone know what step I'm missing?

I tried equivalent functions listed in the manual https://creopyson.readthedocs.io/en/latest/modules.html for example: Called through a client session : c.drawing_get_sheet_format(1) Called from Creopyson module : creopyson.drawing.get_sheet_format(c,1) And I found that they return the same result. Please ignore the specific example of "get_sheet_format" my question is : why there are two ways to call the same function?

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to get the name (and other data if possible) of a 3D symbol like the one marked with a red rectangle in the picture below. I'm using Creo 6.0.4.0 and toolkit. Any help or advice is much appreciated.

Not a Toolkit developer, just curious about something...   Are there any Toolkit commands that would allow analyzing a Creo Parametric assembly file without actually retrieving into session the entire assembly and all of its dependents?  Somehow the Creo View Adapters are able to do this today when publishing 'positioning assemblies'.  They open the assembly file, extract a list of components and their relative positions, and also extract all of the assembly parameters.  All of this happens without ever retrieving or opening any of the assembly's required dependents.   Is it possible to do this same thing with Toolkit, or is this some hidden capability that only PTC has?  I'd like to be able to interrogate assembly files (read all parameters, get list of components, etc.) without having to retrieve or load any of the dependents components.   Thanks.

How to get the Grid-Reference of a dimension? I tried to read a dimension by CREOSON   c.dimension_list_detail(name='D14')   and the response is : [{'dwg_dim': False, 'dim_type': 'linear', 'name': 'd14', 'sheet': 0, 'value': 30.0, 'encoded': False, 'text': ['{0:@D}\n']}]  No grid-reference info. So what's the correct way? 

A hopefully not too dumb question. In toolkit, in the structure pro_model_item which is used by ProDimension, ProAnnotation, ProAnnotationElem amongst others you have 3 structure members typedef struct pro_model_item { ProType type; int id; ProMdl owner; } I thought the id would be unique but apparently this is not the case (e.g. a gtol and a datum tag). So I was wondering should they be unique and what is the purpose of this id? Any help is much appreciated.

I have an annotation with type PRO_SET_DATUM_TAG. ProAnnnotation Annotation Annotation.type == PRO_SET_DATUM_TAGHow can I retrieve the data of this annotation, like name, ...? I'm using Toolkit wit PTC Creo Parametric 6.0.4.0 Any advice is much appreciated.

I've a requirement where in I need to automate a shaft modeling and drafting. There are many segments in the shaft that will have spur gear or a helical gear. The number of segments and type of segment is an user input. Hence the shaft has to be generated in runtime. To do that I was planning to keep different types of segments built in separate files and based on the user requirement the program will chose a segment and copy the features from the respective file and paste it in to the current model being built. It is possible to copy paste features in native Creo2. Is there a function in jlink/tool-kit/otk api that could do this? Or is there any other work around?Kind Regards,Abbas

We are on an environment which has Creo 2.0 and we are trying to run the jLink application with it. The jLink app was made with Creo 3.0 in place and we are just testing the interoperability of our app with Creo 2.0 as well.   But while we are running the JLink application, we are facing a few problem.   When we try to launch the application, when we can see on the console the following lines printed   pm_is_portmapper_port_busy: bind failed, error = 10013 pm_is_portmapper_port_busy: bind failed, error = 10013   This happens when the PortmapperService is running on that machine. When we stop the PortmapperService, the message is not printed any more. Here first question is, does JLink APIs require the PortmapperSerivce to be running?   Our next problem is, irrespective of whether the PortMapperService is running or not, we get the following exception while getting the Async Connection to Creo.   com.ptc.pfc.Implementation.pfcExceptions$XToolkitBusy  &

Hello everyone!Please tell me how to add dependencies (other jar files) to the project jar file.For example, I want to use logging during development, but I can not start the application, since Creo throws an error that the class will not find.I used the gradle build tool. I pointed out the classpath in MANIFEST, added jar files inside my jar, but it still doesn't work. Hello， I have a question about creo toolkit. I want to draw the trajectory path in the creo environment in the completed CAD file. Do I have a way to output the drawn trajectory path lines as point data or other file types that can be read by the robot ? Hello community!! I read about how object toolkit c++ works and I have a query related to it. If I am not wrong visual studio is used as IDE/compiler to write, compile and run object toolkit c++ application code and link with object toolkit c++ libraries. Or is there an IDE/compiler of creo object toolkit c++ to compile and run the programs of object toolkit? I am confused regarding the role of otk_install_app, creotk.dat file and otk_install.sln directory which specifies visual studio solution. Awaiting your replies and suggestions... Regards, Rohan

In .vb I am looking for the commande/keyword to hide a part/model I am looping through parts of an assy (Dim Model As IpfcModel) and would like to hide the part being processed based on some criteria. Hello,  I've noticed a difference when it comes to accessing curves using vb (C# in my case). While trying to create a UDF with a curve reference using C# I can fetch the curve feature:   item = modelOwner.GetItemById((int)EpfcModelItemType.EpfcITEM_CURVE, "nameOfSubItemCurve");   The curve is also visible thru:   features = componentModel.ListFeaturesByType(null, EpfcFeatureType.EpfcFEATTYPE_CURVE); curves = features[0].ListSubItems(EpfcModelItemType.EpfcITEM_CURVE); curve = curves[0];   In this case the curve reference is an ordinary curve.  But when the curve is created using the "curve from equation" there are no SubItems in the feature object.    Is this a limitation in the VB api?    Note that i'm not including the decleration of the variables item, features, curves, componentModel and modelOwner. Those are defines correctly to represent the current part and feature of the model.

Hi, I have a drawing which consists of referenced models which in turn contains the datum references. i found some API's related to datum references ProDrawingSetDatumTagIsShown() ProDrawingSetdatumtagVisit() the documentation states it requires special license, can these API's be used to check missing datum references of the models ?   regards, Sekar
