Dear valued Integrity LM customers, The last update we shared with this group was about our focus to the PTC Integrity LM 11.2 release that released on schedule in December 2017. As mentioned earlier we have made progress on the ‘Design Thinking’ process & now have started putting together the infrastructure and framework for the New UI based on the candid feedback we have received from you thru interviews and collaboration meetings. Christoph Braeuchle, who now leads our Product Management organization for Integrity LM will be sharing an update with you all on the 23rd of January 2018 on our plans for the New UI. Dear valued Integrity LM customers, The last meeting for the New UI was held in September and as promised we now give an update on our next steps. PTC Integrity LM 11.2 will be released Mid-December and currently has the full focus of our R&D teams. We want to set the expectation right, there will be no preview or beta release for the new UI included in that release. Instead we decided to focus our capacities on foundational work in the product, which will accelerate our further R&D activities in that area. In parallel we have completed major steps with the ‘Design Thinking’ process and ran a first series of customer interviews. These yielded valuable insights and gave us candid feedback. Those of you, who were not actively included yet, are considered as candidates for future interviews. We also appreciate all the feedback you provided on the topics we discussed in the collaboration meetings. All of this is currently being analysed with utmost diligence.
Are there any news or any meetings ongoing? Is the roadmap still valid that the UI replacement will be available in June 2018? What about your plans concerning the new data model?
Hi all, after some discussions with my colleagues here come some more topics regarding document structures and document usage in the old and new client: 1. documents should be always editable in different views. So it should be possible to work with a document no matter if it's in a view where you see only one chapter or segment or if you want to see it as the whole document. 2. the need of migrating a document from the old to the new client is seen in a more sceptical way. It should always be possible to work with a document with the old and the new client, at least for already existing documents. No user has to be forced to use one or another UI, because another user has migrated a document. kind regards, Jens
Hi all, again a question which comes to my mind within meeting 8: At the moment we're preparing for a huge project migrating requirements from Doors into Integrity. As stated in meeting 8 current documents in Integrity has to be migrated into the new UI to have full functionality. For us this means at the end that we have to migrate twice, or that we have to wait until the new UI is feature complete. I dont think that my bosses will be happy with that. And independent from this point: Are their any work at the exchangeability from Doors (or other RE-Tools) to Integrity and vice versa? You maysay that we will exchange them via ReqIF, but with the new UI will come some new structure and maybe some new functionality: How compatible this will be with ReqIF? At least: If any click in Integrity, no matter if its in the new or the old UI, will have the effect of loosing some information in the document in a way that i cannot work with this document in another tool
At first thanks to you to be part of the session to get an overview of your future plans. Based on the presentation of today I have several questions Is the new document view and outline view the only existing view in the document? Will this view be applied to each kind of document or only to these documents which have subdocuments included? How can we ensure to get a view of the document, which is “readable”? Our business units work close together with our suppliers How should we ensure to run filters through the whole document? Are we still able to export the documents to Word, Excel, ReqIF? If several types of content is able to be stored in the document, the attributes in each of these types might be different. How can you ensure, that filters and exports will be configurable to these documents? We plan to migrate from doors to Ingegrity. What does it mean to migrate this data? Which impact will we get for reuse of information, branch of documents? Based on the issues Martin iden
Hi all, in Meeting 8 Marting was presenting some new proposals about the document handling in the new UI. One point is very interesting for me: It was stated, the current documents will be working in the old UI and maybe will only readable in the new UI. If i want to work with such a document with the new UI i have to migrate it. Does this mean that this document is unusable in the old UI from this time? And what about documents which are branched into many othe documents? If i migrate one of these branched documents and some of the other will stay unmigrated, how will this work? With all the traces and stuff? And how can i merge some content created in a branch at the old client into a document, which is already migrated? Thanks, Jens
We are using many Java customizations to get special Word/Excel exports/imports, charts, formatting, trace propagation and cross domain copying in our integrity clients. How do you plan to integrate those features in the Web Gui?
Hi all, we're using a massively customized data model for our requirements and change management in Integrity, far away from any standard solution. With the new UI i'm a bit worried how PTC will ensure that our complete data can be used with the new UI as now in the rich client. Are there any thoughts at PTC about this? kind regards, Jens
I have not seen any recent meeting invites. Is this group still ongoing?
Hello All, This message is in case you have missed the mail notification from Kartik Oak that went out yesterday. We are back to discuss more topics with you, starting on the 6th of September 2017. We are looking at having an hour long conversation with you dedicated to the topic of Documents and more specifically Document Structure. We may not cover this in a single session and hence would have to meet again a week later for continuity. Hi all, as we have many tools around Integrity in our environment, which helps us to have functionalities which Integrity can't deliver itself, we were wondering how this will work with the new UI. We have built an adapter to connect to Integrity and this adapter is used by the most of the above mentioned tools. This adapter is mainly using the client-side API at the rich client, because this client is already installed at the machines of our users. But the rich client will be obsolete in the future and it is also not an option to install the client only to have an integration point for accessing the API. So at least our adapter has to be reworked to use any new API, and certainly this will also change some way to use this adapter, so the connected tools needs changes too. We need some time for this, therefore we need info about any plan for an API or any other way to connect to Integrity as soon as possible. Thanks, Jens
We have some pretty detailed workflow diagrams on some of our processes here. Would there be any value in sharing them with you guys? I'm not sure if I can or not, but if it would be valuable to this effort, then I can look into it.
Is this a "discussion group" only, or are there periodic live web meetings / conference calls?Forgive me, I am brand new to this portal and do not know where this effort stands by simply looking at the different discussions. Sorry for the potentially "silly" question here.
Hi all, some weeks ago in a meeting with Steve Partridge he told us, that there may be some presentations for the new UI at LiveWorx in Boston. As it's unfortunately not possible for me to take part at this event, i would like to ask when it will be possible to see some of these presentations somewhere else, maybe in germany? And for sure earlier than at the PTC Forum Europe in november/december...?Thanks, Jens
