Kepware

Hi,   I'm trying to set up a connection between Kepware and Thingworx using the Native interface. I can connect when I turn on "Trust all certificates" over port 443.   But now I want to disable this to have maximum security. In the Kepware settings, I have imported the certificate in the "Certificate store/ Trust Store" but with these settings, I still can't connect to the platform with "Trust all certificates" set to "No". I have also added the certificate to the trusted list in Windows but still no luck.    Has somebody experience on this topic? Can't seem to find documents to set this up.   Kind regards,    Steven

Hello I am new in Thingworx. Following the instructions I have established a successful connection between Kepware and Thingworx. Also I created a mashup with a grid that loads the tag values from Kepware. if I check at kepware  -> project properties -> Thingworx tab -> Enable Logging  I get the following error:   7/30/2018 10:29:41 AM Debug Thingworx Diagnostics [WARN] 2018-07-30 08:29:41,317 subscribedPropsMgr_Initialize: subscribed property values will not persist to disk while offline because the offline message directory was not set or the offline message store was disabled.    I intentionally stopped the connection between Kepware and Thingworx to check what would happen in order of a connection failure. The values during this disconnection did not load when the connection re-established. I suppose it has to do with the above WARN message.   So I would like to ask the following: 1.Is there any way to enable/set the offline message direc

Hi, i have some devices under Kepware v5, i would like to connect to those and i saw that through aggregators that could be possible, what do i need to configure the aggregators? Do i have to install something? is only configuration? i don't see a lot of information related to the setup. Any document or answer would be appreciated.   Thanks!

Hi All,   I can read the value from Kepware by using RemoteKEPServerExThing template. But i dont know what is the correct way to write the value to Kepware in Mashup?   I also tried to write the value to Kepware from "My properties", the value is no update on Kepware

I have few questions in my mind first of all is kepserverex a opc client software or a opc server and secondly when used with thingwork what would be architectural flow of the whole would it be sensor->kepserverex->thingworx   any references on how can I use kepserverex with thingwork? Hello, I can I connect Kepware to any PLC and read the data from that PLC? Does Kepware work as an OPC server to read data from PLC?  How can I read data from PLC if its Modbus ports are not opened? Can it be done with Kepware?

I am looking at Chapter 3 of the guide from last Fall and there are supposed to be 6 values for Screen_Control where 0 is supposed to turn the Sense Hat into white checkmark in a green background. For me, a 0 leaves the Sense Hat in a circular pattern of white. However, the value 2 does produce this Running led image.   I cannot find the screen_control value that produces a the Device Error image (White triangle on orange background).   So something seems out of sync. I am using the V5 version of the SD image for the Pi/Sigma Tile.   Perhaps someone has an idea to help me understand what I am seeing.

Community, I'm trying to connect Kepware with the Thingworx cloud instance that is part of the Studio trial. I've already created the key and thing in Thingworx and I've changed the settings in the Kepware project that I'm using, but I'm unable to connect. I'm getting error messages saying that the web socket connection cannot be established. I can see the thing linked to Kepware in the monitor application in Thingworx but it is red instead of the usual green. Do you know which additional settings/parameters I need to change (URL of the server at which Kepware is pointing) for this to work? Currently I'm traveling for a meeting and I'm unable to share some screenshots of the errors/configurations that I'm using, but as soon as I have access to my server I can post it back here.   Thanks for your support. I am using the ThingWorx 30-day trial and trying to connect to Kepware.  The kepware instance is on my local machine.     My settings in kepware match the application ID and thing name exactly.   I have verified this many times.  I have also tried messing around with the three "Yes/No" responses to the point where I have tried every combination.   Here is the error I get in Kepware: Connection to ThingWorx failed. | Platform <hostname>:<port>/Thingworx/WS, error: could not establish a websocket connection   Does anyone know what might be causing this?   Thanks in advance!

I was able to get my KepServerEX connected to ThigWorx.   I am now trying to add a Kepware tag bound to a property in ThigWorx.  In Thingworx I am able to Broswe and find the Kepware tag that I want to bind.  I go through the process and see that the data is not updating in Thingworx.  I notice that the IsConnected property is not True, but I do not know what more needs to be done to have it connect.  The screenshot attached shows the tag I am talking about.

Hello everyone,   I'm quite new to ThingWorx and I wanted to create a new thing in ThingWorx Composer using the template 'IndustrialGateway', but I don't have that template. Does anyone know how to add this template? I meet the minimal requirements stated on the support site of PTC, I'm using ThingWorx Studio 8.2.0 and KEPServerEX 6.4 and Composer 7. Any suggestions, it would really help?

First formalities: I'm using Thingworx 7.1 with the KEPServerEX extension to connect to a KEPServer instance.  Sorry this is a long post, but giving as much info as possible!   I've created a mashup to browse the groups and tags available on a KEPServerEX instance using the given 'BrowseItems' and 'BrowseGroups' services available with the 'RemoteKEPServerEXThing' Thing Template.  I've bound 'All Data' from their returns to 2 grid widgets, 1 for BrowseGroups and 1 for BrowseItems.  I created a helper Thing to assist with navigation on the mashup and whatever other services I need to write.  I know that this functionality is working. I want to add functionality that allows you to multiselect tags from the BrowseItems grid and use the AddItems service to attach them to my KEPServer Thing in Thingworx. Hi, I am trying to connect to this Machine, but It's giving me unknown error. I started to do logging with debug and this was my output from the kepserv log.    As you can see it connects to the websocket, but right after it ends the connections.    In cloud VMs and my local machine it works fine. But in this client machine it doesn't. I don't know why.    Can anyone help me with this?

Hello,   I have an issue to view the connected servers on the Manuf App Control Advisor.   Versions :  Tomcat 8.5.23 Postgres 9.4.16 TWX 8.2.1 Manuf Apps 8.1.2 Extension KepServerEX-6.4.321 Everything is installed and run smoothly.   My Kepware server is well connected to TWX :  Kepware project well set to connect to TWX Log Kepware : Information ThingWorx Native Interface Connected to ThingWorx. | Platform: <myserver>/Thingworx/WS, Thing name: 'KepwareServerTraining-GW'. Thing[KepwareServerTraining] has the property "isConnected" at "true", so the connection is well established Thing[KepwareServerTraining-GW] : has the property "ActiveTagCount" at "41" which is the number of tags in my kepware, so the data are well gathered  But the problem I have is that in my App Control Advisor, the list of Servers is empy. I am using Thingworx trail edition to show that a light is on in a plc on the Thingwrox mashup. I am using Kepware to link the plc and Thingworx. I am having a bit of trouble at the moment with the thing I created. I created two properties for turning the light on and off and when I go to change the values in the value column to simulate it turning on, I am only getting a tick box which does nothing. Would anyone know what properties I would have to created instead or how can I fix this issue.

Hi Has anyone been able to use a single Kepware Server, to interact with multiple Thingworx Servers? It would seem there is only a 1:1 relationship for this. (Using the KepwareEX extension)

Hi, I wanted to know in which table does the values from kepware gets stored? Where can we identify the table? Instead of storing the values from value stream,Can we store it in  any external table? In this case where does the values from kepware in the grid gets stored? I wanted to know in which table and how can we view that.   Please provide some help.Any guidance is appreciated. I am trying to connect kepware to thingworx to display an on off switch and I am having trouble on thingworx property editor editor. Dear community,   I Installed yesterday the ThingWorx Manufacturing Apps on my computer and I tried to connect it to my KepWare server (KEPServerEX 6) without success. I always got the same message: error: Could not initialize a secure socket connection.   I followed exactly the tutorial video, verified  the host, port, resource, application key, and Thing name. I even ping to hostname to verify it receives something. I already tried several times to uninstall and install everything again without sucess.   Could someone have a clue?   Thanks for your help.   Marc

Hi,   I'm trying to find documentation about how to connect Kepware to Thingworx and then link PLC tag data to thing properties in Thingworx. I typed in "Kepware" into Thingworx help and there were no results. That seems strange given Kepware has a Thingworx IoT gateway plugin and Kepware and Thingworx are both owned by PTC. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place?   Regards, Greg

We currently have ThingWorx 7.1 and the KEPServerEX extension package version 1.6.0. I have a Kepserver Thing, let's call it 'KEPThing', that implements the 'RemoteKEPServerEXThing' Thing Template.  I've added Kepware tags to KEPThing as Properties.  These and the RemoteKEPServerEXThing TT properties, 'lastConnection' and 'isConnected', update properly in KEPThing. Next I've created another Thing, let's call it 'SimThing', and used Manage Bindings to bind my tag properties from KEPThing to properties on SimThing (I've tried both binding as a new Property and binding to an existing property with the same base type).  SimThing properly receives values from KEPThing's tag Properties, but the 'isConnected' and 'lastConnection' properties do not seem to propagate to SimThing.  I've tried having SimThing implement 'GenericThing' Thing Template and 'RemoteThing' Thing Template with the same results.   Any ideas why the 'isConnected' boolean or 'lastConnection' time v
