Hi,Currently we are dealing with 2 machines at client site . Now how can we know that if code generated by Creo Machining extension can be directly integrated with these machines or not. If we require to develop post processsor then how much it will cost to develop new post procesor.Is there some list of machines and manufacturers which show direct integration or post processor requirement? I have created a few UDFs to assist in programming hole drilling. They combine drilling, chamfering (actually just another drilling sequence with a spot drill), and tapping sequences. Depth is set using two planes (drilling depth and tap offset from bottom) controlled by variant dimensions. This also lets the depth for both the drilling and tapping be controlled in one place. Usually they work great, reducing the whole process to a few clicks. Unfortunately, they are not all equal. Some of them occasionally refuse to go onto a model; the only indication I even tried something is a message in the log stating:" Reference group is not present; group creation aborted." This does not happen with all models, nor with all the UDFs, and doesn't seem to happen at all with some of the UDFs. The UDFs were created piecemeal over several different models (as needed). Both the models used to create the UDFs and the ones I'm trying to place them on do vary. We've gone through several versions of Pro/

I have a situation where I need to add sketched lines onto the formed surface of a cylinder shaped sheetmetal part. Then I need to unbend the part to create the flat pattern for our manufacturing plant. The problem is, when I unbend the part, the sketches don't follow and stay on the surface. They either fail or are left floating in space. I also tried the reverse approach. I unbent the part first, added the sketches in the flat, then inserted a bend back feature. In this experiement, the sketches were suppressed in the formed version, and resumed in the flat pattern instance. This failed as well. Attached are screenshots to illustrate.Does anyone know how to accomplish this? We recently updated from Creo 2.0 to Creo 3.0 M020. We are seeing odd behavior using profile milling, specifically when multiple discrete surfaces are selected in the same profile sequence. The motions between surfaces (regions) are not output as rapids. This was fine in Creo 1 and 2. Any known changes to this? Is anyone else all of a sudden having problems with using volume rough in Creo 3.0 M010? I'm doing things the same way I always have and for some reason its giving me fits. If I use a Mill Volume it won't create a toolpath. If I use a Mill Window it will but then when I go to do a Local Milling (Previous Step) it wont create a toolpath. It's nothing that I haven't done before so I'm not sure what is happening. I got a Roughing toolpath to work how I liked it but then trying to do a Re-Rough it gives me slices I don't want and I can't find a way to remove them. upgraded to Creo3.0 and everthing is wonderful!! except the way I finish pockets doesn't work any longer. What I Used to do was make a finish pass on the pocket walls using a mill window or a mill volume with the parameters set to profile only follow hard walls with a leadin and leadout and cutter comp on so the operator could adjust the pocket size.I would then finish the floor of the pocket using the parameters set to spiral and faces only with a wall stock of some value to keep the cutter off the wall.Since upgrading to Creo3.0 M010 if you put a stock value in the prof_stock_allow it gives me the good old "toolpath could not be created please check the set up" message. If there is no stock it works but the tool is right against the wall. Not what I want. The work around is to use the parameters spiral and rough only and set the step depth so it makes one pass at the bottom then the stock allowance works fine.but If you have a pocket with multiple depths or floors the faces only was

Pro Engineer users,My colleagues and I have been having troubles with the CL Data on our Pro Engineer WF1 code output. As you can see in the example below, when WF1 creates the data it adds a GOTO point with the rapid. We don't know how it got there because only a couple programmers have this problem, not all of them. How can we remove this G01 move from Pro E? I'm stuck using Wildfire 4 and I'm finding that the Mfg side of Pro/E|Creo is an exercise is frustration.All I want to do is mill several bores with Helical toolpaths and that option isn't directly availablein a Trajectory sequence.The help file is about as useful as screen doors on a submarine.This is a basic production type tool path and I'm finding I have a Rube Goldberg mazeto get through to produce something that should be intuitive.Facemilling with only 90 degree corners available is another pet peeve.Don't get me going on how weak the Lathe portion is.It's as if no one at PTC has ever set foot in a machine shop.This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. I am a High School teacher and use Creo 2.0 to teach Design. I am trained in architecture so bear with me. I am also the lead mentor for our FIRST robotics team. We have an AXYZ Millenium (2005) CNC Router. The computer driving it went blue screen. We are replacing the computer with a Win 7-64 machine. I wish to use the Router table to make parts (sheet and tube cutting) from plastic and aluminum for our robot. We have done this in the past with software called Toolpath with 2D cutting. The workflow was very convoluted, i.e. Creo>Solidworks>DXF>Toolpath. The .dxf from Creo didn't work with Toolpath 2005 on an XP machine (RIP).How do I drive the router from Creo? We have a Commander SE 2D200220 controller on the router table. Also circa 2005.The CNC Router table has about 5 inches of z height so it can do 3D machining.
