Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center officially fired up a new boiler Wednesday that burns wood chips and is projected to save the health system $500,000 a year.The 800-horsepower boiler also represents nearly 40 percent of Gundersen’s goal of 100 percent energy independence by next year, officials said at a ceremony unveiling the $6.5 million project on its La Crosse campus.Gundersen CEO Jeff Thompson said the project fits a mission beyond the goal of controlling health care costs.“Gundersen believes our responsibility is to the breadth of the population, not just within the walls of our hospitals or clinics,” Thompson said. “It means the health and well-being of the whole community … keeping the people and the economy healthy.”The boiler creates steam for use throughout the hospital for heat and other needs in areas such as sterilizing equipment, providing humidification and running the laundry and the kitchen, as well powering as a turbine to generate electricity for the hospital.The b

Is there a way to create an operation and have sequences that have already been created change to this operation? I am using Creo 2 M040.

I need some help with a 'Mill Window' roughing sequence. The tool is coming down tangent to the 'Stock' which is not safe. I would like the tool to plunge in the space around the material. Hi all,I'm working on setting up procedures for using Vericut to verify 4th axis work from ProNC.My problem is that I can not get Vericut to show motion when the rotary is moving (i.e. when the tool axis is changing). For simplicity's sake, I am working with a 3" cube. When I have the tool .1" above the center of a face, and turn the rotary 90° to the next face, I should get a collision. However, Vericut jumps from the first tool axis (perpendicular to the first face) directly to the second tool axis (perpendicular to the second face) and doesn't catch the collision. Play Path in ProNC behaves the same way, but at least it animates the tool orientation during the move.The parts we make are much more complicated than a simple cube, so I'm hoping to use Vericut for catching collisions. The support have tell me to post here, to maybe have my little problem resolve. To be able to punch a part with a CNC, with a nibbling sequence in arc, with a G code, instead of point by point, one line of code is missing in one of the installation file of Creo. Every time that I make a update of my software, I have to edit one of the file. The file is located in this directory: C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 2.0\Common Files\M040\i486_nt\gpostand the file is: uncmil.v00I have to add at the end the line PPWORD/BOLTC,3192Does it's possible to add this line in the file? A problem I have been having with Pro/Engineer for years involves offsetting or thickening surfaces. When the radius of the surface drops below zero the offset fails. Why can’t Pro/E just create a sharp edge at the corner? I can sort out any manufacturing problems later, I just need my model to work.   I thought this must be down to some incredibly difficult programming problem, but found Catia just asks if you want to swallow the surfaces, then gets on with it. I’ve now found even Autodesk Inventor just thickens the surface adding a sharp corner.   The Automatic Offset option in Pro/E is in reality of little use to me, I just want a sharp corner at the offset. With all its advanced and extremely expensive surfacing capability, what use is a zero-thickness surface when I want to actually make something? Do PTC plan on sorting the shortcoming out? I am seriously considering switching software for this capability alone as the lack of it has wasted me countless hours.   Do

Hi,Another 'straight forward' model.only 12 contactspart accuracies are resonably close to each other (certainly, adjacent offending parts are)The last time I encountered this type of problem, the contacts produced contact force measures that are 'zero' value in the summary file ...This time, different customer, different models, the contacts completely disappear.The force measures aren't reported in the summary file; they simply aren't in the list in summary file, where did they go? Hi AllEver since we switched to Creo, I have had a problem with playing the path and displaying the manufacturing info window together. as shown belowAs soon as you press the play button, or click on anything else, the window goes to the back.this is a real pain, we need to have it fixed so that this window always stays in front, like back in Pro E, I heavly rely on this window for play back info .Here a suggestion. combine the two windows into one interface, so the tool path info data is within the CL play path window.Peter This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Does anyone know how to get Creo 2 Pro NC module up and running? The old way was tools/Floating_Modules can't seem to figure it out in Creo 2. Also is there any enhancements to the tool anyone knows about?Jeff

Hi,I'm trying to copy a surfacing toolpath using the "copy" and "paste special" function but I'm ending up having to redefine every reference to EVERY entity on my model. Does anyone know how I can copy the tool path with maybe only having to redefine the walls, floor and corner radii references? Hi folks, I can't say that I'm the most proficient at using the "deform area" tool, so maybe this is easy. I am using Volume Rough to profile the inside of a pocket with a window mill and the setting on profile only. There are holes that break into this pocket and the toolpath wants to skip over these holes. I have tried opening the reference model and inserting a fill over them (which is why the hole looks filled in the picture) but that still doesnt work. The model is a .stp model. We just upgraded from WF4 to Creo 2 and Volume milling doesn't have the new interface that the other toolpaths do. Is PTC phasing out Volume Milling?If so, I use the rough and profile option a lot when roughing so that the operator can adjust the amount of stock left on the walls using cutter comp.
