Hi,I'm trying to copy a surfacing toolpath using the "copy" and "paste special" function but I'm ending up having to redefine every reference to EVERY entity on my model. Does anyone know how I can copy the tool path with maybe only having to redefine the walls, floor and corner radii references? This would be a big help.ThanksThis thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Hi folks, I can't say that I'm the most proficient at using the "deform area" tool, so maybe this is easy. Can anybody get the Deform Area functionality to work for this thing? Is it more common to create a datum point and note for the location and name of the tool for this feature when sending to manufacturing? I am using Volume Rough to profile the inside of a pocket with a window mill and the setting on profile only. There are holes that break into this pocket and the toolpath wants to skip over these holes. I have tried opening the reference model and inserting a fill over them (which is why the hole looks filled in the picture) but that still doesnt work. The model is a .stp model. I am using creo 2 m030.This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. We just upgraded from WF4 to Creo 2 and Volume milling doesn't have the new interface that the other toolpaths do. Is PTC phasing out Volume Milling? If so, I use the rough and profile option a lot when roughing so that the operator can adjust the amount of stock left on the walls using cutter comp. Is there another way to do this using another sequence? This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Gentlemen,I am relatively new to programming using Pro NC and I am wondering if anyone knows much about the "CONSTANT LOAD" function for rough voluming. Everytime I try to use it in a closed pocket it retracts when it encounters a wall. It creates a 3D curve retract back to the retract plane for the sequence. I have had success going through channels but I had to use a retract plane that was just above my cut plane. It doesn't seem very safe to create a retract plane that is down inside a pocket.I would appreciate any insight or links to tutorials about this tool path. It looks like Mastercam has Pro beat in this area.-ScottThis thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Hello All,We are continuing to work on globalization of CAD methodology. This week's topic of discussion is the display of a BOM on an assembly drawing. Some of our business units have always shown the BOM on the drawing, some have not, and some have done it both ways at some point in time. We are trying to evaluate the pros and cons of showing the BOM on the drawing, and I am hoping the user community can help with any feedback of their experience on how it is done at other companies, and why. This is a subject of debate, because historically we have always fixed our BOM index numbers. Thisrequires some extra work with the drawing BOM, as well as cross-referencing those items numbers to the BOM in our ECOs.This is needed to use BOM balloons effectively, which we plan to continue. The other main issue is whether downstream users (manufacturing, vendors, etc.) need to print a separate BOM fromour ERP system or some other source.Any feedback will help, thanks in advance!Eric HillStaff Eng

My company has just recently started using solid models to create machining programs in GibbsCAM. We are experiencing issues with radii where there are more points in the radius than the standard 3 points (start, midpoint, end). Has anyone else had this issue and if so have you found a solution. This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. I believe you can do this in pro casting but we don't have that. Does anybody know of a way to shrink an entire model. We have some models that we are having molds made for.
