Manufacturing (CAM)

We do all of our domestic-based documentation (i.e. drawings) following ASME standards. We are starting to come across scenarios though where we need parts manufactured in Eastern Europe and they generally use ISO. In some ways these standards are very different (e.g. tolerancing). We also have a new Engineering center in the region, and those employees would rather work in ISO, which would make it difficult for us to pass work back and forth, as will be needed.One idea is that for a drawing that needs to be design, reviewed and manufacturing in both ASME and ISO regions of the world we would create both an ASME and ISO drawing for the same model. I am trying to combine drawings in WF5 and can’t find the option in the menus.I have Drawing A and Drawing B. I want to take Drawing B and place it as page 2 of Drawing A.Used to be a simple process but I can’t find it in WF5.WF3 drawing mode it was under “Insert”, “Shared Data”, “From File”. You then picked the drawing and it inserted it as the last page of the current drawing. I have Wildfire 2, 3 and 4 installed on a Win XP x64 machine that has previously been able to run all versions.This past week, my user has not been able to load WF 4. The splash screen will appear for a few seconds and then disappear. If I run WF4 as the admin, it launches perfectly. So, I gave the user full control of Program Files/Wildfire 4 and verified they had administrative rights to their statup and temp directories. Same issue. I made the user a local admin. Same issue. Just read this in an interview with Jim Heppelmann :“ ... I think some things are consolidating and some things are probably moving in the opposite direction; specialising. Hello All We have a requirement (based on geometry) to have several parts InjectionMolded.Small parts - Tight Tolerances - the usual problems. I'm trying to install onto a mounted drive, from my Windows 7 machine, and Creo is telling me that I don't have write permissions to the folder.I'm doing the same thing from my XP machine, to the same mounted drive, right now. Same user, same permissions. Windows 7 is trying to protect me from myself.I'm running the Creo installer as administrator on the Windows 7 machine. (I am an administrator on the local machine and the remote machine. Happy Friday, everybody!Anybody out there willing to share some tips on bending rods and using Pro/E? We make lots of rods, and so know the basics, but it seems like our manufacturing engineers are having to go through 3 or more iterations before they get it dialed in. I am thinking this is because we are not compensating for bend back or the equivalent of a sheetmetal K-Factor.(See attached screenshot for an example rod. Diameter is around 1/4 inch)So my questions are these:Do you bend rods? I believe there is a newer build that is certified (or whatever) forWindows7, but M100 may work fine. I've been running 32 bit M200 on aWindows7 46 bit machine for some time with no issues. Since you can't mold perfect parts every time, you need to reference the standards to properly account for tolerances. In the mean time, this should get you started. Hi all, i may have asked this question in the past, but did not get an answer. Is it possible to create a swept cut with rounded ends. Think of a 10 diameter ball nose milling cutter, cutting a channel 5mm deep in a flat face, the channel does not go through the whole workpiece, it stops short. Now in the real world this channel would have rounded ends, but in pro-e they are left square using a Sweep Cut, i then have to create revolved cuts on each end to achieve the desired effect. This is for all the post processor gurus.I have a post for a Makino vertical mill where if I just use a tool once it works fine, But if I have more than one operation or If I use the same tool more than once it messes up my cutter comp line so I have to go in and edit it manually.
