This month’s challenge is on black holes! Create a worksheet that: Calculates the event horizon (Schwarzschild radius), last photon orbit, last stable particle orbit, and temperature if the Sun, Moon, and planets of our solar system were to become black holes. (You can choose whether to include Pluto.) I am unable to acquire the necessary license to run the PTC Mathcad Express (I want to try the full PTC Mathcad functionality for 30 days). Every time I attempt to activate my PTC Mathcad Prime 8.0.0.0 I run into the following error in the "Acquire License" tab: "You have reached the maximum number of license requests available for your product type."Furthermore, within the PTC Mathcad options tab, I get the following message:"2/15/2023 4:32:00 PM : The license request failed.Requesting MathcadPrime ...C:\ProgramData\PTC\Mathcad Prime\license\MathcadLicense.dat: (-10) Feature has expired."Any help debugging this problem would be much appreciated as I would like to do my free 30 trial error before deciding whether or not to update my account to Mathcad Prime 8.Thank you!

Hi allPlease, see the attchd.file.There is a graph where I would like to represent parameters x and y related to z.I have no idea how to define the x and y axis.Does anybody have an idea how to do that? Thx   

How do I find the name of the variable that has the maximum value in a set of data. For example, if I have x=3, y=5 and z=2. I want to find the variable name for the maximum value. In this case it would be "y".  

When I enter my new liscence key, it always tell me to try later. So I looked at the email and since i'm on the student version, it tells me that I need to send my student id and a proof of scholarity but there is no email mentioned for me to send it. Where do i send it? And is that why I can't activate my liscence key?

Hello,     My question here is: how can I make the x-axis of the frequencies (freq) be the logarithmic axis (Log10), but without using the Logarithmic scaling option from the menu?   Same thing for the Phase plot:       Mathcad Prime 8 file attached. Hi MastersI.Ton(t,T) is a formula function in every duration of T0 and T0+Ton, T1 and T0+Ton.and Ton is a constant value and T0, T1, T2....in the array series of THow dose the program compare the duration with time variable "t" to plot I.Ton(t,T) through the time? tks     

I have some spreadsheet created for mathcad explorer 8 Now Mathcad explorer 8 still run on Windows 10 but not calculate the results. What I can do to use these spreadsheet ?    

1. For each element of matrix "Em", it is required to match only one closest value from matrix "E_exp_int".Corresponding to that matched element of "E_exp_int" it is required to lookup flow and obstruction values in "flow_int" and "obstruction_int" matrices.The looked up elements of flow_int and obstruction_int will be used for calculating variable "status", as shown below. Right now, there are just flow and obstruction matrices only.2. The summation corresponding to index m starts from 0. For m=0, a constant "lateral_coeff" will be used in place of variable "status". Then, first term of summation needs to be given half weight.  

Hi all, I am putting together a calculation sheet where the input data is entered using the Excel component. The first column is the thickness of my layers, called h. In the "Outputs" section of the Excel component, I define h as having a range between cell A2 and A21 (so maximum number of layers is 20). However, if the user enters less than 20 layers, I wanted to give the option to not have to change the range definition so I was using a filter function to remove all non-defined values of h as follows: h := filterNaN(markNaN(h,match(0,h))) This works great; for example, if I define 9 layers, I get a vector length of 9, even though up to 20 layers can be entered. However, one of the other input variables, called OCR, applies to some layers and doesn't apply to others. I have absolutely no idea how to define which x coresponding with which y for plots where are a several different x.Does anybody have an idea how to do that?Thx a lotRosta

Have been used Mathcad for many years, currently version 15.Are evaluating Prime before an eventuall change from 15.- In Prime I can not find the tool for align expressions and textblocks.In Mathcad 15 it is very easily done with the help of the tools "Align Across" and "Align Down"Please advise

Good Afternoon, I created a design template for a steel diaphragm.  I completed the template yesterday and saved the file and restarted my computer. Upon trying to open the file this morning, the file will not open.  I do not get any error message when trying to open the file, rather the MathCAD splash screen pops up an then the program shuts down.  I cannot locate any backups or other versions of the file stored locally.  Is anyone able to help recover this file for me?  I am not sure how best to do this.  The file is attached.  Thank you in advance for any help with this! 

I am trying to type the following into Mathcad for a lab:   I can define F1:=(f1*cos(a1), but when I press enter to input the second function, Mathcad exists the math block. I have tried searching numerous forms, but have not found an answer on how to type this in. Ultimately it should produce the following: Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I am working with Mathcad Express Prime 8.0.0.0        

I'd like to see more than four significant figures.   Can't seem to find a setting that would enable more significant figures from calculated values.

Hi all, I am trying to use Mathcad to symbolically carry out the 1st, 2nd and 3rd differentiation of a function with a stepped component. The first differential of the function yields plausible results. The first differential has the signum function. When I integrate the first differential result into my actual calculation sheet using the built in "sign" function instead of the signum function, I do get plausible results and the units are consistent.Here is the function and the first differential:However, things start getting a bit complicated with the 2nd and 3rd order differentials. Here is the 2nd order differential: As you can see, the symbolical evaluation of the second differential leads to the signum function raised to the power 2 and now I get a new DELTA function. From the help, I understand this to be the Dirac Delta function. However, I am not sure how to integrate this DELTA function into my worksheet. If the matrix is square, it must be nonsingular.•v is a real or complex vector or matrix having the same number of rows as M. See the enclosed sheet just before the crash.  put an evaluation equal sign after lsolve(A,b) and presto Prime vanishes with no warning or error.        

I have been using MathCad since the late 1980s.  I am now retired and no longer have access to Mathcad 14 which I used with my old company. I want to access some old files.  MathCad Express will not let me convert them.  Is there another way to access the files?  I had a 1990 version of Mathcad but no longer have the ability to load it on my PC.    

I have licenses for at least twenty downloads of Mathcad 14 and at least ten downloads of Mathcad 15. However, when I look for the files, it says "not available". Please, I am interested in Mathcad 14 or 15 and have purchased more than enough licenses to download it to new computers. But now I cannot find it.

Hi there I am trying to install the mathcad student version and its been challenging at many steps. I'm now at the part of the install process where it needs to activate the license and I'm getting this error: The request channel timed out while waiting for a reply after.
