Mathcad

Good luck with the new forum to begin with (For now it works like the first MC Prime  with basic errors, namely certificate errors: needed to add a browser exception).   I am still using Mathcad 11. And I am a fun of it. An evident point I miss is to be able to show a result of an equation  inline with the equation itself. For instance: x:= 5      y:= 2x= 10. Instead in my worksheets I need always to write y:= 2x   and again    y= 10. In a worksheet that I opened recently, I found with my surprise the following equation asking from Matrix Mat_A its eigenvectors. And you can see it is followed with the "=" as I wanted. Probably I copied from MC15 to MC11 or I did something else. I do not have recalls on how I did it. Now I am not even able to replicate it inside MC11. Is someone able to explain if MC11 can do that. And if not, how can be explained the "exception" shown? Thanks

Hello,   I have a set of data which I divided into 3 vectors X, Y, and Z. I am trying to generate a best fit equation for this data based on the formula Z = a*X^b*Y^c   Is there a function in Mathcad to determine a best-fit equation based on the above formula.   This question was posted before, but was lost when the PTC Community forum got migrated into a new platform, so I am trying to get back the answers I obtained.   Thanks,   Felipe Loo

Hi everyone,I am trying to represent on a 3D plot, spheres placed neatly one with respect to the other, as seen in the following picture. The problem arises when the argument of the plot consists of countless elementary functions.  Is there a synthetic way to represent multiple functions so you do not have to write an endless list in the plot argument as shown below?   Thank you very much Franc

I decided to try out the new OLE capability of 4.0.  The good news is that the process seems to work quite well.  No hiccups that I saw.    The bad news is the image quality that is displayed is decidely subpar.  Here you can see the OLE version on the left, and the cleaner result I got just from pasting directly from visio (i.e. not linked).  It still looks poor when printed or pdf'd.            So, as it sits, I don't see the OLE as being an option since the quality isn't professional looking.  I don't see any options to improve the quality.  Any tricks that I'm missing?   Thanks,

Using global variables is a way to do it, however some variables in the worksheet change several times and therefore need to be local

Hi,   I want to calculate a deflection of a beam with Odesolve in MC15.   The deflection consists of two parts: y1(x) and y2(x).   I could solve the y1(x), but when trying to solve y2(x), i got an error-message: "this variable is not defined" You can see it near the end of the sheet. The boundary-conditions are: deflection in the bearings are zero, the bending moments as well.   What am i doing wrong here? Thank you for your help.   ps.: The MC15 File can be uploaded only as a zipped file.

Hi Please help me to find the h value using operator and solve h. I got 4 answers . How can I select the absolute value from the answers.    

See attached pdf. X and Y axis both have the same scale / range 0 - 9350 When displayed in mathCAD Prime 4.0 only hte x axis is formatted 0- 9350   Why does printing / exporting change the plot axis??     Thanks Adam

Hello! I have calculated the complete dynamics for a mass-point moving along a parabola curvation without any resistance like air-resistance, friction, etc.     The solution is correctly solved with the Lagrangesche-methos, the movement happens in that way i suggested. But sometimes it's very complex to create ODEs in that way and therefore it's better to use Newton's Laws.   I tryed to solve the problem with the dynamic balance of forces acting on the mass, but i couldn’t get the same solution in that way so i’m asking what’s wrong. (please see attachement including MP4 and Pdf-file)   Can somebody tell me what’s wrong there?   Thank you very much.

We have many computers with Mathcad 15 on them that the students use. The problem is that the software needs to be licensed through each user's account individually throught the Mathcad License Setup wizard, in which we configure it to use a FlexLM server and enter our server name with port 7788. This is very impractical when it comes to lab computers that hundreds of students use. I have seen that with other software there are environment variables for licensing that make the license universal for all users. I have tried things like LM_LICENSE_FILE or PTC_D_LICENSE_FILE with the value "7788@(our server)" but this doesn't work. Any ideas?

Hi, I have just upgraded from 3.1 to 4.0. One of the features I was particularly interested in was the ability to save to a rich text format for easier integration in calculation reports. However - the maths and images all seem to have been exported in horribly low resolution which makes the feature useless to me. screenshot compared to this   I hope I'm missing some setting that solves this, because if this is really how the rich text export looks then it is simply unacceptable.

Hi! I have been trying to convert a matlab function into mathcad 14. The function is attahced in matlab format.(lpsd.m) During this convertion i have found some difficulties with a native matlab functions. The BSXFUN. If you check that lpsg.m file you can see the bsxfun function inside a for cycle. Does anyone have any idea how can I solve this?   thanks for your time people! Cheers!
