Why are all plots consistent except plot 6? please see worksheet.

HiI have succesfully upgraded to Prime 3.1 from 3.0.Does anyone know how to install Prime 3.0 to run with 3.1 simultanuesly?Or how to downgrade 3.1 to 3.0?Or how to uninstall 3.1 to then install 3.0?Thanks in advanceMichael

Hi,I was looking for a way of easily searching a data matrix "lookup table" with an array vector to extract a value for use in later calculations. I've seen a post where a single value is used to extract a row of data (I need to extract one row of a matrix) and was wondering if this can be somehow extended to be an vector array to extract a single value "alpha". A nominal array and the proposed data matrix would be similar to that below. I've attached a worksheet if that assists?Also saw this Build New Matrix by Selecting Specific Columns of Another Matrix maybe this has potential to offer an alternate way of extracting the row then alpha value using this as an approach, cant quiet get my head around the matrix math to see a way through... Greetings.I need a calculation to find center of gravity of an object.The closest I could get is to define functions, like a bottom and top mould, so I can integrate between.I would need some help now in how to define these functions in a more practical/elegant way, something that could be typed in quick, say like coordinates, also easy to check and verify. A method that is easy to apply for any object with polygon faces.Any advice?

I am trying to figure out how to plot a centrifugal pump performance curve in mathcad prime 3.1. I have defined all the variables and reduced the pump head equation so that it is dependent only on the volume flowrate. It is gas flowing through the system and i want to see the performance curve for volume flowrates between 0 and 500 gpm. When i try to plot the function it does not do it and instead i get an error on the plot box saying "Plotting failed. Replace complex values and NaNs by real numbers." None of the values i am dealing with is complex and there are no square roots to make it complex. Whats even stranger is i have defined the head pump as function of flowrate and when plugging in values for the flowrate i get correct answers (e.g. h(300 gpm)=1169 ft.). So why is it not plotting the function though? I attached my mathcad file so you can see what i am talking about.

In mathcad 15:The answer is as expected. In Prime there are rounding issues. How do I eliminate this rounding?

I am trying to do some simple math to integrate a step change function using Mathcad 15.The problem as simple as a capacitor has two values, at a threshold voltage.When the voltage is below one value, say 20V, the capacitor is large, say 40pFWhen the voltage is above the threshold, 20V, the capacitor is small, say 20pF.To calculate the charge in the cap as a function of capacitor voltage, I can do it two ways.1, Define the capacitor value as a function of voltage and describe it as if function. Then integrate the capacitor with voltage to get charge.2. directly integrated capacitor with voltage and put the if function in the integration equation.The two results are very similar, however, the method one has significant error comparing with second method. See the attachment.Is there any thing wrong with the algorithms inside the Mathcad that having trouble to handling the if function inside integration? I have a matrix which contains many values for kd, x/d, z/d, Ec1 (reinforced concrete). for a given value of u.sd for example i need to search the matrix for the first higher and lower values than the given one, and with those values , with the linear interpolation to compute the other values in other columns for the corresponding given number.I had a similar code for C# that my brother wrote for me but since he doesn't know how mathcad works i can't translate into mathcad functions. Hello,I have encountered a very strange problem in Mathcad 15. While using nested arrays to express two functions, the results appeared with having a line on top of the functions. This line does not seem to be mentioned anywhere in the manual and is interfering with calculations of derivatives. There is of course a workaround by using the substitute function - transforming the functions with the line on top to ones without the line. The problem is, my calculations in general will contain huge amount of sub-functions and their mixed partial derivatives, so fixing the problem manually is very burdensome and inelegant. Has anyone encountered this problem and found a solution?Kind regardsRafal

I don't understand why I can't evaluate the equation in attached spreadsheet  -- bottom of the page.  It keeps telling me the independent variable is undefined?  Can someone explain what I'm doing wrong?  I would like to also take the first, second, and third derivatives of this equation, but can't do that without being able to evaluate the equation.

At n=1000 all is OK. At n=5000 - Prime has an error!What is it?

hiThis mays be a little trivial and repetitive but i havent found a manual. a tutorial or something that shows mathcad functions which do this. i found somes examples in here and i tried to used them with my data and they didnt work.i got this data that represents a curve and i want to find a function, maybe a Lagrange interpolating polynomials that fits this data.  i have attached a sheet with the data. if some one could help me.Thank you in advance

I have a matrix Z that represents the z coordinate of a surface to find the bending moment. x and y coordinates must cover a plate of 6.82m and they have to be divided in 10 places (same as z matrix), which means every 0.682m. Hi,I am trying to solve a parametric equation in matrix form. I have to multiply and evaluate a number of matrices symbolically. I have to calculate a force Nx which can be applied so that failure occurs according to certain criterion.This means I need to solve the matrices and equations in parametric form and obtain the stress matrices in terms of the applied load Nx. I am however not being able to solve the equations symbolically since I get errors like 'the value name must be the name of a function' or ' the array should be compatible'  or 'the variable is undefined, check the label is set correctly'. Please advice how I can proceed.Thanks
