i have these 4 nice equations with 4 variables c.1 , c.2 ,c.3 ,c.4 im trying to set up a nice beam deflection algebra template. but i cant find any way to solve it, tryed with matrix and solve block no lock any ideas ? :).   - Dennis

I have got the solution for the V function, but I cannot have got the solution for the V2 function! Help please! The Mathcad Prime 5 sheet in attach!  The problem.We take a round workpiece and cut a sector out of it.We then fold the cone from the workpiece.The question is what is value of the cutting angle at which the volume of the cone will be maximum. I solved the problem with one cone analytically, but I cannot solve it analytically for two cones!

Hello all!   Im new to MathCAD and Im trying to use the root function to solve a series of functions, but I keep getting an error which says "This function cannot be used here" in the root expression. Anyone got any clue? Can anyone check my spreadsheet? Its on the last page, thank you

Z:= (something ) = 8.9 ~ 9    Can i have an approximation sign after this equation and i also want to insert the approx value , in this case i want to put 9 and i also want in future equations when I use Z to pick the approx value . Is there i way i can do that?

Guess this is a bug in Mathcads symbolics or am I missing something?

I am fairly new to Mathcad and I have been trying to type in the equation in the attached file and have the tool solve for the variable L symbolically. However, I had some trouble typing in the equation itself because I could not get rid of the ? mark after the equal sign. Obviously, I was not able to get to solve for L symbolically. Has anyone done this type of symbolic solving for a variable before?

I have installed Prime 5 with SolidWorks 2017.   When Prime 3.1 was released  there was an API that extracted values from SolidWorks to Prime 3.1 and returned new values to SolidWorks.  The installation of the API will not work with Prime 5 and SolidWorks 2017.  PTC does not support the API, which was written by an outside source.  Has anyone else tried installing the API?   David Tg

I have downloaded a file 'pim_installmgr_mathcad.exe' and try to run it. It opens up, the PTC Installation Assistant runs up to 100%, Windows pops up to ask me to allow this program to make changes, I say yes - and then nothing. Nothing more happens. It just stops. I have Windows 10 Home 64-bit as my OS. I have tried running it as Administrator - same non-resuslt.   Please help

Hi! I'm trying to switch from Mathcad 15 to Mathcad Prime 5.0 but still haven't found any way of writing commas in subscripts without the formula switching to some other format. In Mathcad 15 you could always use the Ctrl+Shift+k to do this but i haven't found any equivalent solution in Prime. Do anyone know of a solution to this problem?   I've already searched the web (and forums) but haven't found an adequate solution to this. I found a post where they gave some suggestions and said something should have been added in Prime 3.0 but i haven't been able to find any references as to how this actually work. Since im working with Eurocode and write a lot of formulas with subscripts i can't be bothered with copying content back and forth but rather need a straight forward way of achieving what i want.   Kind regards, Johan

To all experts,   I am breaking down an investigation I am hoping to do to simple blocks. I am looking at creating “dummy” bi-modal PSDs to meet a specific rms value. See attached mcad15 sheet If I specify the values fn, zeta1, A1, alpha and p is there a way of Mathcad finding the zeta2 value required to get a given rms value? A solve is returning “no solution found” but it works with a Find(). I believe one cannot use Find() in a program   Ultimately, I would like to create a number of f dummy PSDs with the same (or near) rms value by changing the parameters. For example, I would like to specify a series of alpha values and get a vector of rms value   Thanks Regards JXB

Find aL and replase to a.L - Ctrl+h No problem to do it in Mathcad 15 How can I do it in Prime?

Problem. A chain is taken (absolute flexible and inextensible thread) of length S and with a specific (linear) mass mc. The chain is suspended at the same height from two ends. The horizontal distance between suspension points is L. A pendant (material point) of mass M is strung on a chain, which can slide along the chain without friction. What will be equal to the arrow of the sag of the pendant?I solved the problem numerically. Is there an analytical solution?

Hi   Attached is a calc Im working on. Everything seems OK until I try to enter a value for epsilon/D and then the program keeps popping that it must be a scalar value. Progressively I wish to use the value of Epsilon/D and then calculate Cf. Here also the program keeps saying Cf is not defined. Kindly assist.   Regards Shastry

I have an initial matrix containing "Yes" and "No". This initial Matrix is named A. A can start with a "Yes" or start with a "No" and the times "Yes" and "No" are in the A Matrix should be unlimited.    In A the "Yes" and "No" do always alternate, they never repeat.   Then there are two matrices which are really vectors; B and C.   I want to stack these two vectors which might have the same number of columns or might not. For this case A, B, and C always have one row.   Recap: A is manually input; B and C are also manually input. Matrix D is generated.             Matrix D is the generated Matrix which is going to have one row. For columns it will have the sum of the                columns of B and C or simply the number of columns from the A Matrix which should be the same as the              sum of columns of B and C.   D’s first element will be

Final goal is to output a Graph with X and Y values.   I am having problems with the generation of the Y values. The Y values depend on weather an initial value is "Yes" or "No" under the variable Assembly.   I would like to replace matrix B and C for a single matrix that will take into account the Matrix called Assembly.    If you look at both examples, SW-1 and SW-3, you will notice that matrix B depends on weather Assembly starts with a "Yes" or a "No". Matrix C is simply the cumulative addition of matrix B.   I was thinking of creating a Loop that starts with Matrix ShearWall.Gap and applies the multiplication ShearWall.Gap0 times (v.shearwall-v.diaphragm) if Assembly is "Yes" or -ShearWall.Gap0 times (v.diaphragm) if Assembly is "No" and then continue doing what Matrix B and C are doing. I want to make a dynamic report using Word and MatCAD (15 M045).However, I ran into some problems: 1. Formulas typed and formatted in MathCAD lose their style (underline, italics, etc.) with a special insert in Word. Is it possible to somehow fix this? 2. Noncritical problem: the Russian-language text from Matkad is inserted into the Word with hieroglyphs (solved this problem through the GOST font, it does not give distortions). Is this an encoding problem?
