Let's say I define a vector variable and then I want to do sigma summation for every element, from 1 to the element. Can I do this? Or perhaps with a range variable?ThanksJoe
Hi,I made a separate Math CAD sheet where I have wrote a function Now I am trying to insert this sheet into my main calculation sheet as Insert--------> ReferenceSo that I can recall that functionBut it is not working.Any ideas!BR,J.Randeep
HiI couldn't understand why the function with condition statement in this case IF statement as shown below dose not work properlyIs this right way ? or I am making some mistake.BR,J.Randeep

Please excuse my ignorance, but I am really in a bind. I am not a Mathcad wiz, but I need to use it for a graduate class. I have a Mathcad sheet I have started, but I cannot figure out for the life of me how to get the final units in the proper format (ft).I am using the given/find solve block. I have defined all variables prior to the solve block. Spreadsheet is attached.
Hi, is it possible to change row in a equation in mathcad so that it fits in one a4 page?Like this:I=b*h^3/12+b*h*(x-xtp)^2+... ...Bw*tw^3+etcI have equations that is longer then one page can fit. Thanks!
Often data plotted or functions have end uses which showing acceptable range is importand. Older versions allowed entering a constant function among the traces. Mathcad 14 doesn't seem to do this. How does one accomplish the function?
I note that in Mathcad 15 there is Reference Information given. I'm worried that for an exam that I will forget some of the formulas such as :cos(A+B)=cosACosB-sinAsinB - does anyone know if such formulae are buried in the depths of Mathcad anywhere ? Or does Mathcad not go that far to expand such things for us ?thanks,
Hi, I want to know howw can I define a probability distribution function to use it with monte carlo function. Thanks
Hello,I was working on Mathcad Prime 3.0 and I started using it only a week back. I tried to insert data in to the table from a text file as we do it in Mathcad and I didn't succeed, I tried several options available in Prime such as README, but I didn't really understood how to use it to get the data into table. As many of us know that in Mathcad we do it in a very simple manner by inserting a table and importing data into it, and if we un check the relative file path then the data can be stored in the template forever.I was struggling to do the same thing in Mathcad Prime 3.0. Can someone one help me in this regard.Thank you very much in Advance!Ashok.
I am using MC Prime 3.1 on 64bit Win7.I have a MC document with 1 collapsible region and a bunch of text blocks, text boxes and live equations. The document is 9 pages long, I am using template headers and footers, and there are some inserted page breaks lower in the document.I was entering some new content lower in the document and when I scrolled up to the earlier pages I found that a lot of the content had been messed up... Text blocks on top of each other, on top of text boxes and/or on top of equations. It was quite difficult to clean up.If someone can tell me if this is a known bug and if they can suggest a workaround to avoid this happening again, it would be appreciated. This is very frustrating when it happens.TIA,--Doug
Hi - I have a solution to my problem which is :However I want my answer in decimal form - I have tried highlighting the result and then Format, Result, Decimal but it didn't make any differenceAnybody got any suggestions please on this one ?thanks,
I know about 3d bar plot in mathcad. But, I want to how to plot in 2D bar plot,I also tried by using,format--> graph-->traceIf I do like this, In my mathcad window, I could not able to select the trace tab.Thanks.
Hi - I'm not sure if I am doing this correctly - my question I am working on is :So I know that x(t) = 1 when t=0, and V(t)=5 when t=0, so I use x(t)=1 on the 1st Equation and Solve for B so I get B=1-Athen I substitute 1-A for B in equation 2, set v(t) equal to 5 and t=0, Solve for A ......However I'm not getting the correct answers so don't know what I'm doing wrong - can anyone help me on this one please ?thank you
Hi there.I just noticed that when add 2 variables defined as length (mm), the resut increase the value of 0.00000000000006. Can someone help me figure out why?As you can see from the picture below, adding the unit after the addition removes the error. Result FormatFormat: GeneralNumber of decimal places: 17Show trailing zeroes: yesFormat units: yesSimplify units when possible: yes
Hi - I'm wondering if someone could help me please on the following couple of questions regarding finding values of angles.First one is 2sin^2(2x)+4sin(2x)=3.729, second one is cos(56-3x)=-0.783 (56 is in degrees)For both of these find all the values for x between 0 and 360 (deg)Thank you - I'm struggling with how far Mathcad can help me here in terms of re-arranging. It seems easy to type in the equations and click on x and then 'SOLVE' however I think I'm doing something wrong .....Would appreciate any helpthank you
I am trying to parameterize a simulation in which a heat source dissipates heat through a plate. The power level (for the solver), plate thickness and area (for the geometry), AND grid (discretization pre-solver) layer will vary. The latter may be the limiting factor. Does the MathCAD play well with SolidWorks analysis?
How do you break an expression, so that it will print on two, (or more), lines?
Hello, cimmunity,my problem with PTC MathCad 3.0 is illustrated in attached picture. While I get correct answer and units of k (permeability) in square meters, but I can't convert answer into Darsy (Darcy). Where can be problem and what is the solution? Thanks a lot.
Hi Folks,I just had a visit from a Senior Technical Evangelist (that's really his title) from Mathworks. He suggested that I try Mupad, a symbolic math program that sits on top of the Matlab Symbolics Toolbox. Has anyone else tried it?It's still a command line kind of interface, but friendlier than the '>>' familiar to Matlab users. I have used Matlab since the early 90s and mostly like it - very handy for big number crunching tasks. To run it, all I had to do was type in 'mupad' from the command line. I think it requires the Symbolics Toolbox, though.
Hi - I have this question to answer using Mathcad 15 and I'm brand new to using it and just can't get it to work - the question is :A mechanical control system has a transfer function given by G(w)=8/(6+6wj+(wj)squared)where w = the angular velocity, I have to find the modulus and argument of the transfer when w = 0.5I've tried using w:=0.5 and Given and Find but it just doesn't work - can anybody please give a step by step of how to do this please ?Thanks (in hope !)
Hello,I have 2 equations and I have to find the intercept. The equations are:y^2.5=1-x^1.5y=(Rs/Rt)*xIn this equation Rs and Rt are constants and we need the solutions that will make x and y to be in between 0 and 1.I have been trying but I get a warning message that I dont understand. Attach is a picture of what my code looks like. Any help will be appreciated.
Hi guys, I am finishing up a course focused on half Excel and half Mathcad, with a smaller focus on the programing part of mathcad. I am having a lot of difficulties creating certain programs. My professor is finishing up the course with a small assignment that i cant seem to figure out. I AM NOT trying to get someone to do my work for me, I'm just truly lost when it comes to programming. Anyway, I attached an image of the description of the program she wants. I am familiar with the Trapezoidal rule (from my other math classes), and can come up with a simple program for Trap rule, but not with input parameters being tabular data. I'm not sure if this is a really simple program and I'm just not seeing it, but any help would be awesome! thanks!
