Hey guys,Do you know what could be wrong when installation is stuck at 75%? It is a brand new laptop (lenovo T540p)I have installed all needed components (C++,.Net framework, MSXML and so) but the installation stops at 75% and nothing happens.I have mathcad 15, win7 pro.
Hi everybody,I am trying to make an iterative calculation in Mathcad 15, but I seem to fail. I am trying to calculate rock stability in water by calculating the shear stresses caused by currents and waves. The bed roughness (kr) is a function of the D50 that I am calculating. see the photo. Can anybody tell me what I am doing wrong? If you need more info just ask. Thanks in advance.Kind regards
Hi All,I make frequent use of steam table calling functions in my Excel spreadsheets, and I would like to use this capability within Mathcad Prime 3.0. However, so far I have been unable to figure out how to bring a sheet with it's steam table calls into an Excel component in Mathcad Prime 3.0.I think the functions are inside of a couple of .bas files, and I have tried to save those in the Excel component, but this seems to cause trouble with Mathcad.I will attach a small sample Excel file showing how the calls work.If anyone can advise how to make this work I would very much appreciate it.Thanks,--Eric SeelyeP.S. The steam calls in this sheet are the work of Magnus Holmgren (formerly of www.x-eng.com) However, he seems to have dropped out of site. I was unable to find him when I last tried some months ago. Anybody know what happened to him?
Hello!I can't find an option for reversing axsis (from minus to plus) in diagramms. Like a mirror image respect to x-axis. Is it even possible? Thank you!Sami
In MathCAD 14, I am having trouble making a 3D scatter plot when the matrix-function contains an element that is a natural log function. The same matrix-function plots OK If I substitute and different function for the natural log function. I have included an example file; why does the p.2xyz function plot OK and p.1xyz not plot at all?
Hello Everybody. I need help with proving the above, in general case for p. Thank you in advance. Best Regards.
Hello Everybody, Now I need help with transferring a term to RHS. ( Illegal operand ). How to correct them ? Thank you in advance for your time and help. Best Regars.
Hello Everybody,Could you please help me with this problem. In the attached worksheet, there is function sp(k,b), where k is the variable and "b" is the parameters. for different set of parameters, there is a phase shift between sp(k,c1) and sp(k,c2).How can I find the amount of the phase shift? or minimize the phase difference? The ultimate goal is to find a new set of parameters as close as possible to the model parameters "c1"Thank you very much in advance
In the attached Prime 3.0 worksheet I am attempting to graph a function of functions. This is something that I did readily in Mathcad 15. Is this possible in Prime 3.0? Is there a change I need to make to this function to make it graphable?
Im having problems using the solve functionSometimes it works fine, other times it does not. I cannot figuree out what the problem is, but a workaround is sometimes to strip my equations for units. But I rather keep the units. The problem is that I dont get a result, but MathCad says"This variable is undefined. Check that the label is set correctly". Im not quite sure what it is MathCad is trying to tell me.Does anyone have a idea of what the problem is and how to work around it?
So, I'm completely new to Mathcad and am literally using it for my first time ever for a grad assignment. I am having difficulties with a couple of things in particular.First, and most importantly, I am getting an error which states "This value must be a function." Having defined the term and function in question previously, I am just not sure where I'm going wrong. I'm sure it's something easy about how I'm typing it in or what I forgot to do, but I need someone more experienced to help me out.Secondly, in the "error 2" worksheet attached, I am getting an error about incompatible units. If anyone could help me with one or both of these errors, I'd greatly appreciate it. Sorry for my lack of knowledge of the program.
I find myself trying to solve a set of equations, which are a function of two variables (P2 and D), with different units (psi and pulg), whose values I intend to find out.How I can deal with this problem?Thank in advance

I am a recent convert from MathCad 15 to Prime 3.0. In the attached Prime 3.0 worksheet, what is the correct formatting for stating if a variable is not an answer (NaN) to set a variable to one value, and if it is an answer to set it to another variable?
HiI'm trying to compute soil pressure resultants from soil pressure and depth vector. The problem is that the resultant vector should have fewer rows than are in the depth and in the pressure vectors. The solutions should be made in a way that it works for n-layers.Thank you for help in advance.
Dera friendsI am going to simulate a Gaussian electromagnetic wave propagation in a multi layer media (pulse shaping, transmission and refelctivity). On the following web address I have found a some how similar package but the link directs me to ptc.com.http://www.mpassociates.gr/software/distrib/science/mathsoft/application_files.htmlDo you know how to get a similar code to get a primary idea?Thank youPayman
Is there a way to raise each element of a matrix to a power without having to do it manually each one?
I have MathCad 14.0 and would like to plot a 3-D polyhedral surface from a set of (x,y,z) vertices. I could not find any plotting option/function to this - am I missing something? Does MathCad 15 have this functionality?
As far as I know, vertically-stacked fractions are always displayed in Mathcad equations. Is there a way to display fractions in "x/y" format? This would be helpful for powers with fractions, e.g., x^(y/z) in large equations with lots of powers.
Hello everyone. As I can get all the values that belong to a particular component based on a data table as shown in the attached sheetThanks in advance
Hello,I am currently looking at combined heat transfer (radiation - convection - conduction). When radiation is considered, the differential equation becomes non-linear, and thus I figured using MathCad would be great for solving the DEQ as a function of parameters. As a note, the text I am using/refering to is: Thermal Radiation Heat Transfer 5th Ed. by Howell & Siegel, Chapter 7. This chapter is mainly dealing with numerical solutions and setting up the equations, but I would like to know how to solve them using MathCad.Attached is a worksheet and a few pictures of the example problems I am trying to solve, in which there is a graph showing the solutions. I am hoping I can get Mathcad to solve the equations as a function of parameters.
I came across an article discussing research in building programming languages to speed up development of simulation programs. Here is the link. And here are some quotes from the article:"They have created a language similar to the language of mathematics.""... in the field of programming there is a classic problem linked to selection of the correct units used to describe physical quantities""Our new programming language is easy to use, it takes less time to write programmes, and the sources of error have been removed."Reinventing the wheel comes to my mind.
Hi,The Mathcad document have some calculations from the old article. The article says that all the calculations are done on a computer. However, my results do not coincide with those shown in the article. On the screenshots you can find input information (a, t), the formula for calculating the value (x, y, b_0, b_1). I have tried to carry out calculations with different accuracy, but the result is still different. Maybe I missed something?
Hello to everyone,I'm just giving a try to the MP3.0 trial version.Basically, somewhere in the worksheet I need to find the max. value of a function over the range of its parameters.Unfortunately I have some problems with the programming tools.I'm struggling for a while to implement correctly the program I want as I'm not familiar with this programming feature of MathCAD, but I think there is a problem with units and/or external functions to the program.I made a file with an example. What do you think ?
I do not see the add-on in my Resources list so I am not certain if it installed correctly.
