why it is not possible to work in Mathcad (Prime 2.0) with the Newton Noation? As an engineer, I often need a point over a letter. Typically, the mass flow is indicated by a dot above the m and the flow rate to a point on the V. Are there not many people who need such a thing? Does anyone know a viable workaround?

HiI use the match function to find a value in a vector. However, for some values the match function returns a matrix instead of a scalar, see picture. Why does this happen? What is the match function doing?
For some reason, the square root symbol works but raising to a power of 0.5 doesn't:Version: 15.0Mathcad doc attached.
Hello people,I use Mathcad for college, and its a very usefull program.About a week ago Tab "Math Formatting" is normal, but don't update sheet, see example:I Start a new, then Tab Math Formatting, and choose like in piccture. When i start make calculations, it never respect new Formatting. I already have "repair", "uninstall" and "install" again. One use is complex numbers, i choos to show in polar degrees, and it shows in rectangular, why?Anyone has the same problem and was able to fix it?Regards,Luis Lourenço,Portugal
Hi all,Could anyone help me find what problem within the calculation, To solve two variables using two equations, but it finally said there needs at least two arguments but is applied to 1, what's that mean?
can you change text based on a formula without using the if statment.for example.sf = if(design = LRFD, "resistance factor", "shear factor"Can the above be done by another method?maybe programmingThanks
I need to modify programming codePlease. See the attachment file
Almost there guys.I've manage to draw the shear force diagram from some given numbers, I'm now trying to plot the bending moment diagram but for some reason I'm getting an error on the moment axis.any suggestions or assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Hi - see attached.I'd like to show OOB with units of gram-millimeters (g.mm).When I change the units from m.kg to g.mm it adds kg.s^2/m.Can this be avoided?
I'd like to type something like this:Area = a x bwhere:a := 10b := 20Thus,Area = 200How close can I get in Mathcad?I've tried using the boolean "=" for the first statement but then can't get the last statement to work.
I'd like to show my working, is there anyway to make the last line work itself out automatically:E = stress / strainstress = F / Asubstituting and re-arranging:strain = F / (A.E)
Hi all, I am a new user to Mathcad and I have came up against a very tough problem. In the attachment (and image below) there is a table that looks up a value of Cy for a given K and M simple. The problem comes when the values for K and M are not a whole numbers for example - K=32 and M=0.23 then the value for Cy is in the range of 1.63 - 2.3. You need to interpolate between the four figures. Cy will actually equal - 1.7348I am looking to produce a Mathcad function that would allow me to look up any value of K and M. You help is much appreciated.Kind RegardsChris.
MathCad Prime is still useless and MathCad is clearly no longer being significantly supported. I need to reconfigure my license every few months. This time, it doesn't seem to work at all. I am pretty much terrified that I will lose all of my work of thousands of hours on MathCad (the legitimate versions of the past). Has anyone found a legitimate program alternative to MathCad 15.0? MathCad Prime is not worthwhile. Does anyone have any suggestions on what can work to recover all of that work without completely regenerating it? Thanks, Bill
Hello,I'm trying to 3D plot a solid defined by the X,Z coordinates and a constant for the width (Y). I am using the surface type to create a filled surface for each side of the shape. I am able to create most of the surfaces, but cannot figure out how to "fill in" the front and back faces.I have been searching the forums and have found examples of this, but none have shown a surface with more than four points, which I believe may be an limiting factor. I have tried numerous methods of how to arrange the matrix, but my understanding of the matrix structure required for the surface plot is limited. Please see attached worksheet. Thanks!
How does Mathcad handle sin and cos, appearantly Intels implementaion has its limitations...https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/topic/289702On Linesin(36001)= 0.01745241MathcadExcel0,01745240643728350so not really relevant but better than Excel?Could be depending on the FU or GPU used, juts in case...regards
It seems that the numerical calculation in Mathcad only can process 16 significant figures, such as 123.4567890123456 or 123456789.0123456, and when the number have more significant figures, MC will round it to 16 or 17.I knew that symbolic calculation could process up to 250 decimal. But I need use it in the programming, and the result of the symbolic calculation can't use in programming. When I use:x:=x-trunc(x)x:=x*10^8-trunc(x*10^8)to get the number after 10^-8, I get a lot of number irrelevant! Look at the picture below:In my opinion, the result must be 98765432.11234568, but MC return a unacountable number! Is it another bug of MC15?And how should I do to increase the computational accuracy? In Mathcad Prime 2.0, the result is same:

Hi guys,I want to calculate spectral moments of a wave spectrum (of ocean waves). This involves the use of the transcendental equation to obtain the wave number k by iteration. I have calculated k for a limited set of wave frequencies, see sheet. However, I would now like to sum these wave numbers, but I am unable to do this. Can anybody help?I am new to Mathcad so maby Im just being stupid here.
I am about to buy Mathcad prime 3.0 student edition, does it come with Mathcad 15 m010 or above so i'll be able to convert mathacad legacy file or just the prime version itself?
Hi,Please can someone tell me why the second vector (V2) is different to the first (V1) in the attached workbook.Version: Mathcad 15.0
Am I missing something here, I lot of the disucssions people have said 'file attached' but I can't see anything. is this something I'm completly missing?
Hello folks,I do still have an unexpected result from the reverse function although it works as expected in some instances; see attached sheet. When creating an array and reversing the order of the second column then one sees in the graph the reversed function. I.e. last values being depicted first. However, when I do the same on some measurement data, all I get is the weird looking curve in the left graph.Does anybody have an explanation? Mike perhaps?Raiko
