Hello, Using thingworx 9 and Manufacturing apps 9.0.0.0-1. We ran into some Data table entry issue, When we access the Factory Console mashup we only see one tile which is the Thingworx composer tile. After further drilling down to the source Data Table we found there is a localized data table that is being used to display the tiles. Using the mashup functionality on the data table itself we do see all the entries in the data table but when I run the service GetDataTableEntiresLocalized there is only 3 entries in the table. Not sure how to access and correct this, Any help would be appreciated. Attaching screenshots for reference. Regards Nadir Khoja
I used the createSite Service in Thing: PTC.SCA.SCO.DefaultShiftManager to make shifts. I made several sites as a test. And I used the delteSite Service to erase sites. but The site deleted without initialization of 'siteUID' For example I made four sites.and then I delete 1,2,3,4 siteUID. After I made new site but I got '5' siteUID I want to get '1' siteUID I want to know how to reset siteUID. Thank you.
1) Could anyone let me know the working/use of Asset Advisor, and 2) How does it get the data? Is it Kepware or some other option? Thanks in advance.
Hello, I'd like to ask you, what is the best approach to achieve "High availability" for KepServerEx using ThingWorx. My current solution: I created two things based on industrial Gateway template, each of them is connected to one KepServerEx. Both KepServerEx have exactly same channels and same connections to physical PLCs. In each of these Industrial Gateway things I created subscription for DataChange event for isConnected property and when it is false I programatically change IndstrurialThing property on connected Remote things. Do you think it is a good approach? Or is there better solution to achieve "HA" for KepServerEx?
Hello, I have the following problem: I have 2 instances of the manufacturing apps (8.5.2 with thingworx 8.5.3) - The first one, a current production environment, is bound to Kepware and working correctly. The tags are actualized each 30 seconds as expected - On the second one, the project has been imported (no changes there) and should go live / replace the current server. It is bound to an OPC aggregator which is bound to Kepware (Because Kepware cannot handle more than one Thingworx connection). Here the values will not be actualized if they are not changing. It means that the attribute 'last updated' is not changing and the charts do not have any points of measure if the values are not changing. According to the opc aggregators logs the values are send: 19.08.2020 08:20:06 Debug ThingWorx Diagnostics
1) kepserver is connected to MSSQL db and a status value for a parameter in db table is made as 1. 2) This parameter's status value of is getting reflected in Kepservers's quick client. 3) I have connected the Thingworx with the Kepserver with connection status showing success. 4) In Thingworx > configuration and Setup >added a parameter> went to status 5) In status i defined the Running status expression to the the kepserver parameter and set '=1' Now the issue is the Status for that parameter in not showing "Running" in Production KPI's page. The status 1 is reflection from DB to Kepserver and Kepserver connection with Manufacturing app is good, - The application key is not yet expired. - The expression in "status" is correct. But the Running status is not reflecting in Production KPI's page What's wrong
Hi. Can't get my head around one thing. I am using MFG Apps for Planned/Unplanned downtime mashup based on the equipment status id coming from PLC. While the control advisor mashup has expressions for distinction between planned and unplanned downtime it has no means for drilling down into particular reasons within planned downtime reasons for example. I am logging equipment status flag integer into a stream and it displays it in a grid with a timestamp. But I want to create another column with the duration of the particular downtime cause. How would I do that? If I have only the start time. So I assume the trigger event would be the next status change and its time stamp would determine the duration? Or should I use Alert services for that? My final goal is to have a pie chart of the unplanned downtime reason hours. Honestly Mfg Apps should have it along with multiple shift setup. Is there an indication when it will be added? Thanks
Hi, I have a device connected over Modbus TCP/IP channel and logs data correctly. OPC quick client shows correct value. Once i turned off device, data quality is bad because of no communication. when i restart a device, there is no good data seen in OPC quick client. I have to delete channel and device and re-add it again along with tags. Once i will do it, it will start showing good quality data. Everytime i can not do that when i am using this during live production. Can you please suggest where i have to focus for this?Sometimes it has been observed in log that it shows error code 10061. 'Socket Error Occured connecting'. Error=10061. 'No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it'.
Hi All, Iv Just started using Manufacturing Apps 8.5 the trial version as I am trying to build a POC against a competing IIot software package and so far I am very impressed. The question I have is how can you customise the charts to show alerts and frequency per shift
Hello, We would like to show the asset filter menu collapsed by default when a user accesses the Asset Advisor, and we can't find the way to do it. How could we get it? Thanks in advance,
Is there anyway I can assign specific downtime reason when the machine is in unplanned downtime status in the dygraph? I ideally whenever there is unplanned downtime I would like the user to manually assign a downtime reason to the status of the machine.
Hi , I'm new for ThingWorx platform , try to self study from the online document . I have question about the purpose of using the ThingWorx connection server. "ThingWorx Connection Server provides a server application that allows the connection of remote devices that use the ThingWorx AlwaysOn™ protocol to the instance of ThingWorx platform. This Connection Server handles all message routing to and from devices, providing scalable connectivity to ThingWorx platform." For the Manufacturing App , it is look like ThingWorx connection server is doing the same task which KEPserver acting. in the production environment I can choose between ThingWorx connection server or KEPserver to get the data from the remote device . Is my understanding correct ? Thank you
Hello, We are using Manufacturing Apps 8.5.2. In our development environment dygraph in KPI Trends is working properly, but it doesn't in production environment. In production environment is drawing vertical lines at the same point where the kpi calculation is printed, see attached image. KPI calculation is 90,74% and it draws the value, but in the same timeline a vertical line that get over 140% is also drawn. We have compared both configuration, development and production environment, and the configuration of the widget in the mashup is the same. Thanks in advance for your help. Regards, Olatz
Hi all, We have created new thingworx 9.0 instance and imported Thingworx Apps (Manufacturing Apps). After importing apps I can see multiple error entries in application log Could anyone help me solve this /VR
I want to monitor and maintain motor pump properties using asset adviser i am not finding suitable guide to start building and show all data on asset adviser.. please suggest me video or documents for learning
Hi there, I'm starting two Manufacturing Apps projects and I'd like you gave me some advice on best practices. Some key features that I'd like to address are: Clean instance. Best practices for having a clean ThingWorx instance. Working with two Manufacturing Apps projects on the same ThingWorx instance. How to switch from one project to the other one without mixing entities, data, nor extensions between them (keeping them isolated). Solution Central. How the developing workflow with Solution Central should be to work with two Manufacturing Apps projects on the same ThingWorx instance. (After developing stage, each project will be deployed to different customers) If you think there are some other good Best Practices advises for starting off new projects, feel free to mention them. It will be highly appreciated. Regards,Nahuel
Hi All, I am using Thingworx Mfg Apps 8.4.0. I see the Shift Start Time and Shift Duration as asset properties which are configured via Planned Operation time Start and Duration in Configuration and setup tile. I wanted to understand how this works. Whether this implies that I can have only one shift in a day. If not how can i configure for multiple shifts. Also is there any mechanism to configure the break timings in a shift? Please provide your inputs.
Hi, This is the second time I'm facing this issue.I've tried parcticing Thingworx manufacturing and imported extensions related to it and then tried to delete the but weren't able to delete. Moreover, they are creating lots of errors in Application logs and I'm afraid that it's affecting also the performance of ThingWorx platform. Tried to delete the extension and now it's showing me this alert message. Thanks You, Muhammad Naeem Akhtar
Hy ptc community, I'm currently implementing an industry process. For this process it is important to check some things before the main process starts. Below you can see a rough prototype of what I want to build on the Operator Advisor plugin. The menu points (10, 20, 30, 200, ...) should be dynamic and loaded from a table. One process could require 10, 30, 200, ... another process could require 20, 30, ... When the user clicks on a menu point (for example on 10) the corresponing dynamic view (also backed by a table) should open. Something like: "Insert part one in machine b" *START*, *STOP* (Buttons) The content (for now) is only text. The start and stop buttons log to a table (with orderId, menu point, start/stop date). Is this possible? Is there already some kind of example? Thanks a lot in advance. Best regards Aaron
Hi, Does anybody know how can be "Units" assigned to a property in Manufacturing Apps 8.5.2? I thought that we could do this from the "Configuration and Setup" option, in the "Additional Properties" menu, but there is no option to do it in the screen. Although it is explained in the help center how to do it, it is imposible to do it from this screen. https://support.ptc.com/help/thingworx_apps/r8.5/en/#page/thingworx_apps%2FThingWorxAppsSetupConfig%2Fadditional_properties.html Thanks Olatz.
Hello, I have created a new KPI for the assets following the documentation available at https://support.ptc.com/help/thingworx_apps/r8.5/en/#page/thingworx_apps%2FThingWorxAppsCust%2Fcreating_additional_kpis.html and the new KPI is being calculated correctly periodically. Now I'm trying to add the new KPI as a new column in the Production KPIs mashup: -I added the required fields to both PTC.Factory.PlantStatusTreeDataShape and PTC.Factory.EquipmentStatusTreeDataShape. -I updated the service PopulateProductionKPIsTreeGrid from PTC.Factory.PlatStatusUtils to include the new KPI. When I access "Configure Grid Columns" of "treegridadvanced-plantnetwork" from the PTC.Factory.PlantStatus mashup, the column with the name newkpi_displaycirclehtml is not available even if it's included in the DataShape. Could you please provide me with the detailed instructions to show a new KPI in the "Production KPIs" mashup? Could you please tell me wh
Hi, I am Rynaldi. I have a B&R PLC running an OPC-UA Server and am trying to connect it somehow to Thingworx. What is the possible way to do this actually? I've read several posts in the forums but they are mentioning different methods, such as using the OPC UA Client from the marketplace (which somehow I couldn't find anymore in the marketplace), using Kepware Server, using KepServerEx. So I'm confused what is the latest method to communicate with an OPC UA server running in a PLC actually? I actually have access to the Thingworx Manufacturing Apps as well. Would that be any help for the OPC UA communication? Later, I want to use this information in the Vuforia Studio actually. The idea is to get the real information from collected by the PLC and present this information in the AR Experience designed in Vuforia Studio. I would appreciate any help 🙂 Best regards, Rynaldi Maydrian Lauren
I am using Thingworx for Manufacturing App. I configured a workflow using Workflow Builder, and added a User Task. I configured PTC.BPE.BusinessProcessNotifier with correct mail server settings, and also PTC.BPE.UserTaskHelper according to help at http://support.ptc.com/cs/help/thingworx_hc/converge_6.5_hc/index.jspx?id=Converge_BPCreate&action=show. Then I duplicated a mashup from PTC.BPE.UserTaskPanel. The problem is I didn't receive any mail notification when workflow stopped at the User Task showing In Progress. I can change the workflow state from thingworx workflow management web page. What could be the reason?
All, register here for the "What's new in ThingWorx 9.0" - Webcast on Thursday June 25th.
Hi, Our environment is Thingworx 8.5.2 with Manufacturing Apps 8.5.2. After creating 3 new equipment types, and creating new equipments of these types everything was working ok. But we made an export to import the manufacturing apps configuración to another server with the same environment and it doesn't work. When a click on the configuracion menu, I can see my equipments tree but when I try to access to the status configuration page, I can't see the status definition table (see status-configuration.png). I also try to create a new equipment but previously created equipment types are not in the Type list, I only can see the default equipment types: site, line and asset. I didn't get any error in the import process. It seems like my new 3 equipment types doesn't exist in the new server but they are present in the PTC.Factory.C_LaunchPointConfigurationThing_8.5.2_00 and the equipment things exist as I can see my equipments tree. In the logs I
