I put this how-to doc together so other in my company could have quick access to the information i collected to create wire harnesses without using Creo Schematics.I learned a lot from Brian Martin's posts and docs that he has shared online. I also found other resources very helpful as well.My process is a bit different from others so I thought I would share it here.

Yes, even this has to be brought up.  As basic at it gets - when you manipulate your curves in both sketcher and style, going into CV mode somehow disables the undo, so any time you move your CVs, good luck if you made a wrong or accidental move.   Again, this is as basic as they come - a simple  undo for every move, CV or edit point, or whatever - would make functional again.

When i open an .igs model in Isodraw cadprocess 7.0 (at client location), all the parts of an assembly are visible. But, when i open the same .igs model in Isodraw 6.1 or 7.3 cadprocess , there is some dataloss i.e., some parts are not visible or missing. Can anyone explain me what might be the problem or do i need to reinstall the softwares or are there are any plug-ins missing.Q-2: And also when i open the .wrl files, i am not able to zoom properly and there is a huge dataloss when i onvert to 2d .iso file.Thanks in advance.

I have two questions about measurements:LabelWhen creating a measurement, Illustrate displays a label in the drawing like: "Min Dist 20 mm" Is it possible to change this label? Because we produce manuals for several languages we don't want to have text in a picture. So only "20 mm" would suit us better or even only a letter (for example "A", where A is explained in the manual text).InsetsIs it possible to display the measurement annotation in an Inset? An c3di file has got an creo parametric assembly as source. I did a save as action with the creo parametric assembly. Some of the components in the structure were changing. Now, I want to keep all the created figures in Illustrate of the original assembly for the new assembly. I do not want to create all the figures in Creo Illustrate once again. Is that possible?

How do you delete or remove the files that are loaded into the Creo View Mobile App?Once loaded from iTunes or from e-mail.

Surface modelling was the main area which set Creo apart from the ususal suspects but they have now pretty much caught up (though the Style feature still keeps Creo ahead for ID jobs)   Workflow for editing sketched splines is looking pretty clunky, needs a general overhaul and primarily bringing into the main sketching environment rather having to enter its own interface.

I have not come across this before, what does the red x in the model tree indicate? I cannot check the box to the left of it either.

This is one puzzling to me in a big way, as someone who's been modeling for 17 years in Alias and now transitioning ot ProE - why in the world you have a styling module that's essentially its own sub-modeling environment, separated from the rest of the tools?  This makes as much sense as working the same project on 2 different computers in 2 separated rooms.  Your styling module has the obvious improvements and basically an evolution of your "normal" sketcher curves and boundary blend surfacing.  So why have that separated into another module?   As the result, you have curves with very specific building workflows and requirements that sometime do, sometimes do not work with sketcher curves, as in you can't even intersect a sketcher curve and a styling one.  That's crazy!!!  A curve is a curve!!  Curves are supposed to be flexitble building structures that should have maximum flexibility and ability to be manipulated in a unified and consistent way.&nb

I would like the ability in sketcher to toggle display of strong & weak dimensions independent of each other. Use case: After importing or removing references on a complex sketch, many weak dimensions are created. While trying to constrain & dimension the geometry the weak dims clutter the display area. With current functionality, if you use the disp dims filter you can't see what you have strong dimensions on.

So it would be more user friendly.

Hi,I have 2 questions about 3D symbols in Creo Illustrate1. How can I add a 3D symbol to Illustrate? Should this symbol be of the .ol file type? If yes, with what software can I create an .ol file?2. Where are the sybol library files located? In the manual it is said that the path is \ users\<user_name\AppData\Roaming\PTC\Illustrate\SymbolsLibrary sha but on my laptop such a directory is not visible.Regards,Raymund

I have a huge .asm and in Creo it opens normally, but in Creo View it appears empty. The Creo View tree is strange, something like a save icon appears (see image). Someone can help me? Thanks in advance.

Limitation of '31'characters for naming any dimension of a geometry should be overcome as it is possible in other 3D modelling software.

Getting all dimensions & its details of a geometry at one place as a list may be in the form of any expressions, spreadsheet etc. like someting similar to 'Listed Expressions'  in SOLIDWORKS-NX.

Many of us are now using Creo.       How many Administrators are taking the time to teach your users the correct lingo?       What I have been doing is trying to educate my users on the new lingo and avoid confusion moving forward.       My users are always saying things like "I have a question on Creo" or "Can you show me how to do something on Creo"       We have to learn the new lingo of the Creo platform.       The most common mistake I hear is that my users think they are running Creo now instead of Pro/ENGINEER. You are actually running Creo Parametric and not Creo. This is when my users say "What?"       Creo is a platform and it includes serveral apps that make up the platform. Pro/E is now Creo Parametric. Mechanica is now Creo Simulate, Product View is now Creo View, etc.       I took the time to explain the difference to my users and make sure they all understand the new

One of my biggest pet peeves is that the way Creo handles GD&T datums is flat out wrong. A datum referenced on a production print must refer to a physical feature of the part, so that someone inpsecting the part knows how to locate the part to inspect it. But Creo only lets you use axes or planes to define datums. These are "theoretical" features that don't actualy exist within the physical part. A planar datum is more of a trivial matter, as you can define a plane to be coincident to any flat surface, and just have to deal with the superfluous 0.00±0.01 dimension from the plane to the surface. But with an axis, it is another matter entirely. An axis datum must be a cylindrical surface. And on a part with multiple cylindrical surfaces all revolved about the same axis, it is wrong to simply define the axis as your datum. One of the surfaces must be the datum, and the remaining surfaces are inspected in reference to the datum. But there is no way to define which surface is the datum,

Stop highlighting whole line segments when the only part that overlaps is the end point vertice.   Example: Sketch 3 line segments, then duplicate the middle segment. Then use the "Overlapping Geometry Diagnostic" tool... All 3 line segments highlight. Am I supposed to delete all 3 because they are overlapping?  obviously no. Tell that to new users who have enough troubles sketching without adding confusion.   SPR 2097338 was filed, but the Mathematician in R&D claims that it is working perfectly, because the end points of one segment "overlap" the end points of the adjacent segment, therefore, both should be highlighted.   I feel that "vertex overlap" should be excluded from the "Overlapping Geometry" Tool. There is a separate tool to deal with Vertices - "Highlight Open Ends"

Is there a way to set the drawing format preferences in a macro? I have read through the macro user manual I do not see a way to do this.I would like to be able to set the drawing format size, orientation and units. Hi All, Can anyone help me to solve the below questions as I am very new to Isodraw and Macro language. Thanks in advance. Scope: I have hell of .iges files and need to explode the assemblies,illustrate them in Isodraw 7.3 or Isodraw 6.1 and save them as as .cgm and .JPEG formats. Question 1: Whn I open .iges files(Created from catiaV5 i guess) and select single bolt for example, all the bolts in the model are getting selected and getting exploded at a time but i need to select individually as they are grouped in original catia file.Is there any option to select them individually and then explode.Please help. Question 2: When i record a macro, where these macros will get stored in Computer for Windows XP Service pack2. Can anyone send me macro to export all the .iso files to .cgm and .jpeg at a time.Please send me macro for Isodraw 6.1 or Isodraw 7.3 or Isodraw 7.0 Cad process. And also how to edit the macro if in need to change anything.
