In this webinar, Alister Fraser from PTC and former university educator will take you through: Overcoming the challenges of flipping a classroom How to flip your classroom in five easy steps Pro and cons on making this change How to get started today (view in My Videos) For questions or to learn more, please contact an Academic Advisor atwww.ptc.com/go/academiccontact.
Thank you to those that were able to join us on the 5 Steps for Flipping Your Engineering Classroom Webinar! [View the full 5-Steps for Flipping Your Engineering Classroom Webinar here!]Please feel free to use this platform as a discussion board to your thoughts on flipped classrooms, strategies for doing so, what you're doing in your classroom and gain feedback from your peers. Here are some questions to get you started:Any questions following the webinar? Is flipping your classroom a strategy you are interested in pursing? What are your buggest hurdles with flipping your classroom? How do you think your students would find this format? How will this format help you save time teaching or provide more 1:1 time with students? Are there any technologies you're using to help you in a flipped classroom model? How have you worked with stakeholders (deans, students, etc.) to make this model work for you?Etc.Should you have any specific questions for the PTC Academic Program, please feel to reach o
I am getting an error mesage that the file is either corrupt or invalid when I trying to extract the files from the downloaded zip file of Creo version 2. I am using Windows XP and the downloaded file size is 4.2 Gb.
Hello Users,Have you tried to hide the attachments linked to PR or Document (application data) . Basically the WTDocument info page should be visible to the users but the attachments should be hidden . Foget the ACL's , I tried to check if Security Labels would be helpful , but unfortunately they are supported for Document / PR and not for the attachments linked to these objects. Moreover Application Data column in DB has no column for Security Label ! ...Any help would be highly appeciated and highly useful. ThanksSriram Rammohan WABCO - Vehicle Control Systems
How do I combine several freeform shapes to make an object that can be exported as an .STL file? The eyes and nose of this animal are seperate freeform objects. I would like to extrude a cut through the "snout" to make a mouth. I'm sure somewhere I saw a command to convert freeform to object- I'm looking for some kind of boolean add command I think!Any pointers?Best regardsPeter
Can we get instructions for uploading the creo document into windchill, please? Thanks
As a Trainer I have recently received the University Edition of Creo 1.0. Having easily run Pro Engineer WF5 on my iMac using Parallels v7, I didn't anticapte any problems when I ran Creo 1.0. Unfortunately it hasn't worked out that way. The main problem is when I extrude the 'ghosted' image does not appear. If I click to accept then it extrudes fine. Other what may be related problems are the 'remove material' icon not greying out when I move a feature backwards and forwards through a surface. Any ideas? I'm worried that it may be a Parallels related problem - but there was no issues with WF5. Thanks in anticipation. Paul
Hi, I'm problem with creo 2.0 i've installed all files, but when I open Creo Parametric the code error that I find is 0x060000c0. I've installed the new version of Quality Agent but the problem still live!
The camera footprint calculator sheet uses a required time for detection of 0.5 seconds and required time for identification of 5 seconds. We were told to ignore the pixel requirements for each in this sheet; are we also ignoring these time requirements? They appear to be from last year.
Just a quick (potentially unnecessary?) question. I noticed that the height of corn is missing from all of our documents. How tall is the corn, and what variety is it? Or does it not necessarily matter? Though, I have seen that corn, depending on the variety, crops can vary between 4 and 16 feet tall, and this could affect how high of an altitude we fly at.Thanks!Kathryn DuFresneProject Manager - Team PhoenixHighland Tech Charter School - Anchorage, AK
Hi!My team has been working in OpenVSP while desigining our aircraft and is ready to start utilizing the model as a part and adding external/internal components via Creo Elements Pro. Previously, I believe, we have exported the VSP files as .stl files, and Creo has been able to recognize those. However, .stl files will not show up when we attempt to open them with Creo. What could we be doing wrong? Should we be exporting as a different file type? Or is there a seperate process to importing these files to Creo? Thanks a bunch!Kathryn DuFresneTeam Phoenix - Anchorage, AK
I have a circle and would like to create a centreline through it, so that I can use it as a reference when doing dimensioning. How would I do this?
I have some questions regarding the corn borer calculations to determine the amount of increased yield. In order to do so, we need to input the number of larvae found, the expected survival rate of the larvae, and the expected yield of the crop per bushel. Is there a standard that all participants are meant to utilize on these topics? We are looking at the suggested calculator from the University of Illinois, but we were not finding explicit answers to these questions in the webinar or module on the subject.
Problem: If i make a rectangular extrusion that is 100 wide then off set a datum plane 50 away from the edge it will be centered. If I edit the original piece to be 200 the off set datum plane remains 50 from the edge, no longer centered.Question: How do I center a datum plane between two edges, so that it is symetrically constrained?Brian Mc DonaldTechnology TeacherKinnelon HS, Kinnelon NJI am aware that I could create the initial object symectrical to the origin, but my students don't always do this.
Performance RotorcraftThe perfornance rotorcraft mathcad worksheet asks for a minimum airfoil drag. Is this in regards to the propeller and if so how is it calculated? This worksheet calculates power consumption for forward flight, vertical climb, etc. However, it seems that the calculations are based around only one motor with one propeller lifting the entire vehicle takeoff weight. On the multirotor there are six motors providing thrust to lift the entire vehicle weight.
I was checking the Process Statement worksheet and I've noticed the steps in detailed design process(3)such as "check that the wing satisfies the structural criteria at the maximum weight" and "check that aircraft is stable and has sufficient performance." Is there an aerodynamic program for such steps or is there certain factors we have to calculate? In that case, how do we actually find out if our models (fuselage/wings/etc) integrate together to actually fly? And also, I've noticed documents such as FAA Technical Readiness Criteria / FAA Rules, andalso tools like Aerodynamic characterization Mathcad sheet. But I couldn't find it anywhere. Any help?
After installing the PTC CREO student version on my laptop i'm unable to see the part and/or datums on the model window. The part opens correctly but nothing shows on the screen. How can i fix it? Is a installation issue? All datums are turned on, no part is hidden. I just cant see anything, just a blank model window where a part is supposed to be showing.
Using the Performance Worksheet in Mathcad, we've determined the takeoff speed and stall speed of our aircraft, but how do we determine the maximum velocity of our plane. Thanks

When our team got to the configurator, we noticed we couldnt change the price of camaras from last year and same with the lap tops. Is any one else having this problem?
I have Creo 2.0 student license and working good. When I have install 3D mouse ( http://www.3dconnexion.com ) Creo not working any more.I need help how to fix this problem.Thank you for help
Hi,I thougt about asking a specific question about creo 2.0 keyboard shortcuts and decided to make it a sharing opportunity. anyone wants to share his favourite most usefull keyboard shortcuts while working with creo ? I like Ctrl +G to regenerate.Center click for Doneanyone knows a shortcut for normal view/ isometric view?
PTC Creo has very powerful analysis tools and optimisation/feasibility studies. Put these two together and it's possible to modify 3D models to achieve a desired goal, This family of water bottles was created using these techniques. The bottles shown here are 1 litre, 500ml and 330ml with the same neck so that the same cap can be used on all sizes. The attached zip has these Creo models and "How-to" instructions.Note: the models were created using Creo 2.0 Academic Edition. The instructions should enable those not able to open the models to create their own.
To all,My Mathcad programming knowledge is very limited. Is there any specific PTC training where i can learn programming in Mathcad from beginners to advanced levels?thank you in advance,Rogelio
