Using Wildfire 4.0 M092 Student Edition 4 I've imported shared data and carry out EDIT DEFINITION the system goes into the command but the 'Import Data Doctor' ICON is low lighted and I cannot do any thing. Is there something I should be turning on first.

As the Seminole HS Robotics club engineering mentor, I completed the online survey this morning.  I know it is late by a couple of hours, which more or less sums up our FTC season in FL this year.  I hope our Seminole High School FTC teams 3123 and/or 3736 will be considered for a grant next year.  We greatly appreciate your support.  Last year the students struggled with CREO, this year the bugs have been worked out and more of the students were able to partake in the CAD design process.  Keep up the continuous improvement.  After having a FL team win the World FTC Championship in ST Louis last year, FL teams had a hard act to follow this year.  The 2 FL teams that were invited to the World Championship faired extremely well with one team in the semi-finals and the other in the finals as the 1st runner up to the World champions.  Unfortunately, neither of our Seminole teams were invited to World's this year........ next year is another chapter

Cubify have teamed up with the Star Trek brand making it possible to have your own head on a Star Trek figurine. A really simple wizard guides you through selecting the body types and uniform then you upload a front and side view picture of your head. Ever wanted to upload a picture to your Windchill profile to uniquely identify yourself? You can! Just choose My Settings, Profile from the Quick Links menu in the uppper right hand corner and then choose Edit Picture from the Actions menu. The image needs to be 288x192 or it will be stretched/squeezed to fit into this size.

The sheet material tools in PTC Creo Parametric were used to model this case for the Raspberry Pi micro-controller.The files are in Academic format.

I am in the process of buying a new laptop and will be using creo 1.0 on a regular basis. I was wondering if PTC are aware of any problems running their software on Windows 8 for both 32-bit and 64-bit ?

These gears have involute teeth so will mesh correctly and transmit motion smoothly.The zip file contains a PDF that explains how everything works including exporting a DXF to cut the gears on a laser cutter.

The attached zip file contains a PTC Creo model of a Raspberry Pi circuit board sourced from RS web site here: http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/products/7568308/The case was modelled by John Forth using PTC Creo and is described in the PDF guide contained in the ZIP file.  The case was modelled from DXF files John downloaded from the web.  Once you have the case as a Creo model, it's very easy to modify or adapt the design.  John's description is below.Many of you will be getting to grips with the Raspberry Pi computer that arrives bare bones, i.e. no case.   On-line there are many examples of cases you can purchase but this one comes courtesy of just a DXF file for use with your laser cutter.  Reverse engineering it to make modifications and to personalise it you can use the DXF file to create features and parts in CREO. This short tutorial tells you how to do this. You can then produce your own DXF file from your CREO model and use it to cut out the parts o

3D modelling has a lot to offer when developing a design including customisation and design for manufacture. To illustrate this I will describe a common project in secondary schools, a small, laser cut acrylic box.Currently students might hand sketch on paper their idea with key dimensions.  They then use a non-parametric 2D draughting program to re-draw the outlines. Checking whether everything will slot together properly requires considerable 3D spatial awareness.  Some schools might use DXF fomat files imported into a 3D modeller like Creo to assemble for checking prior to laser cutting.  Without the 3D model there is every chance something will have been missed with parts needing to be modified and re-cut.  I skipped over the difficulties of importing a non parametric DXF into a parametric environment and editing it to become valid for 3D feature creation.. We are trying to set up CREO2 on a RM Connect 4 network. I have created a number of Drawing formats that include borders, title block and School badge and they have been placed in C:\program files\ptc\creo2.0\common files\MO30\creo_standards\formats. When I try to create a new drawing from a part and select 'Empty with Format' the formats do not appear.Can anyone explain what is happening here? I have used the same formats in the same location on my own stand-alone computer with no problem.Thank you

When I try to open a part or an assembly , it always show this information as above. Is there anyone know what is the problem and how to solve it? Thanks.

A Golden Ratio calliper design with locking screw.

This is a rendered image of a Diamond modelled in Creo by John Forth.Diamond appearance from the built in library was applied to the model and one extra spotlight added. The model was used to test an updated driver for his AMD FirePro V4900 card. The TIF image in the attached zip file took 1min 45 secs to render at Maximum resolution.You can use the Creo model in the Zip to design your own bling!

The 2013 PTC Design Competition was a lot of fun and filled with some very exciting submissions this year. There were an equal number of FTC and FRC submissions of some amazing robots and all the teams that participated did an amazing job. The booth was busy with students converting their static models into kinematic models by creating kinematic connections (pin, slider, planar, cylinder, ball, etc) between components and subassemblies in their robots. Teams not only brought in native Creo models, but we also converted SolidWorld and Inventor models to Creo to build the mechanisms. I have a problem when I want to make the revolution of an area that I have defined in the sketch. I get the following error: "This function is defined with very small dimensions compared to the rest of the piece. Is advisable to change the precision of the part to be less than 0.000304513."Please, how do I fix it? I do not know where to change the precision of the part...Thank you very much.

Since I can't find any place else to put this, I'll put it here. If anyone knows a way to send this to PTC directly or if there is a more appropriate location, please tell me, as I have no idea if it will even be seen by PTC here. These are my observations about how the current iteration of creo works. Most of these have to do with clearly legacy behaviors that need to be corrected.It should always be possible to select where to save. Currently, if a new part,drawing, etc. is made, it MUST be saved in the folder of the last file I opened. The options to put it elsewhere are greyed out.Closed files should be cleared from the environment. Currently there is a massive memory leak. Even if you close a file, it is still in memory so long as Creo is. If you are forced to move a file due the having saved it in the wrong place, need to reuse a name of a file that you stopped making or did not save, etc., you have to completely close creo and open it again because the name clashes with the clos
