has the issue with "save a copy" assembly window resolved in creo 2.0 M030?
Does anybody else have a problem with running the mission analysis on the excel sheet? We keep getting a run time error 53, file not found or a run time error 9. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi,If you were one of the lucky ones who got a new machine for the holidays and it came with a shiny new copy of Windows 8, not to fear. PTC has you covered. The latest maintenance release of Creo 2.0 is M030 and it is fully supported on Windows 8. Stop by http://www.ptc.com/company/community/first/teams.htm to download new software. If you're not sure which maintenance version you have, it is easy to check. Just start Creo 2.0 and pick File, Help, About Creo Parametric. All FIRST teams should be on Creo 2.0 at this point. You can continue to use the Creo Elements/Pro software if you have an older machine, but you should be able to run Creo 2.0 on the same hardware. The big benefit of updating to Creo 2.0 is the new UI and command layout making the application so much easier to use. Hopefully you've all had a chance to download the updated KOP and Arena for Ultimate Ascent at http://www.catalogds.com/db/service?d=first&c=browse
can i change my creo 2.0 student edition license to a new computer as my present computer has become non-finctional?if yes then what is the procedure?
I have students create a part where there is a hole created on a work plane that is 30 degrees off the RIGHT work plane. No problems making them, but when in a DRAWING for the part I can not get a regular dimension for the holes. See attached PDF for example. Other then modifying the dimension for the "ellipse" is there a way to tell Creo that it should display the circle diameter? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
is there a maintenance release for creo student edition 2.0? 1. if yes then how to downoad it?2. if no, then why not?
PTC Creo has many applications in the teaching is science to demonstrate key concepts. We created this analysis requested by a high school teacher to help them explain coefficient of restitution or how balls bounce. The zip contains a Creo assembly and instructions how to open the model, run the analysis and display a graph of height against time. When we demonstrate this to other teachers a common question asked is; "How does this help me teach this concept?". Creo allows us to change the value for gravity so, we can bounce balls on the Moon, Mars or an asteroid. All you need to know is value for gravity on that heavenly body. The document in the zip file explains other models we have in this series. Can you think of concepts at middle or high school level that Creo models could help students investigate and teachers explain?

Hi all,Mid way through the assembly process on a project, and I'm hitting some bugs. One is a Failed to save error, I click save project, and a little box comes up saying "failed to save" or "failed to open document", i've not touched any other files, just 'new>add component" that kind of thing. I've even gone to the extent of trying to load old copies of the files I know I haven't touched, backups I've kept.I've tried contatcing technical support but to no reply. Could anyone please help me out here because by the looks of things, i'm going to have to start again from scratch which would be tens of hours of work.ThanksDavid

During this webinar, PTC will be covering the process for the national challenge. We will cover the details on the national challenge and look at the given tools teams will use to complete the task. The intent is to help educate teams on what they should be doing for the challenge. (view in My Videos)
You may be wondering what to do with your shiny new RP machine. With Valentines day just around the corner how about giving your students an hour to model a Welsh love spoon. The making and giving of love spoons dates back to at least the 17th Century. They were carved from hard wood and given to loved ones. More information on Love Spoons including the meaning of the symbols: http://www.welsh-lovespoons.co.uk/index.html A Creo 2.0 model love spoonAnd the RP modelThe assembly RPs quite nicely although you may need to scale it down to fit into your machine. Always on the lookout for projects that are a little bit out of the ordinary.
Changing parts into BS8888 for schoolsWhen we first installed Creo Parametric on our school system it wasn’t set up to BS8888. Unfortunately a number of our students produced parts for their final projects. We have now set up all PCs to BS8888 but when students open parts that were designed on the old settings they are not in BS8888 (even though if they start a new part they are to BS8888). I have found out how to change the parts from inches to mm but the real issue occurs when they attempt to produce drawings. The isometric view is missing. My question is can I change a part into BS8888 after it has been completed. If not, can I add the isometric view to the parts “named view” list so the drawings pick it up?
Attached are two images of a student trying to assemble parts for a can crusher using Creo Parametric. When the student attempts to constrain the parts we get the second image. We are not sure what is happening and it makes it very difficult to assemble parts. This happens on the majority of our PCs although not the newer ones. Could it just be a graphics issue? Has anybody experienced a similar problem? I have attached a word file with more of the same. Our school uses Windows 7.
An inspiring story how College Park Industries uses Creo to help amputees regain their mobility.http://creo.ptc.com/2013/01/30/documentary-video-highlights-thrill-seeker-college-park-and-ptc-creo/http://creo.ptc.com/2013/01/30/documentary-video-highlights-thrill-seeker-college-park-and-ptc-creo/
For the recently release national challenge, there is no detail information on the area of the three search zones. There is only the indicate angle of the 250 degree on the national challenge statement. However, the search area’s diagram contain the in the statement of does not appear to be draw to scale. The calculated angle of zone 3 is bigger than zone 1 but the diagram shows area of zone 1 is greater than zone 3. Therefore, our team would like to know what would be the angle of each search zones reference to the East axis. Thank you

Hi all,Running Pro Desktop 8 on XP, and I'm having an issue with mating/pivoting an obscure shaped elipse. WIth no straight lines on the elipse it's hard to mate/align it to the straight piece i want to make it to. If I could even just rotate the piece it would make things easier to put pieces insitue but the orient function won't work with that because of no straight pieces. Even if I could split the piece i'm making and use the line as an orientate/align line, but i would need to be able to hide the line once i'm done, how is it possible in pro dekstop 8 to hide/mask/merge a line? Could anyone please point me in the right direction here, I would greatly appreciate it,Thanks
