Hi all,Mid way through the assembly process on a project, and I'm hitting some bugs. One is a Failed to save error, I click save project, and a little box comes up saying "failed to save" or "failed to open document", i've not touched any other files, just 'new>add component" that kind of thing. I've even gone to the extent of trying to load old copies of the files I know I haven't touched, backups I've kept.I've tried contatcing technical support but to no reply. Could anyone please help me out here because by the looks of things, i'm going to have to start again from scratch which would be tens of hours of work.ThanksDavid

You may be wondering what to do with your shiny new RP machine. With Valentines day just around the corner how about giving your students an hour to model a Welsh love spoon. The making and giving of love spoons dates back to at least the 17th Century. They were carved from hard wood and given to loved ones. More information on Love Spoons including the meaning of the symbols: http://www.welsh-lovespoons.co.uk/index.html A Creo 2.0 model love spoonAnd the RP modelThe assembly RPs quite nicely although you may need to scale it down to fit into your machine. Always on the lookout for projects that are a little bit out of the ordinary.
Changing parts into BS8888 for schoolsWhen we first installed Creo Parametric on our school system it wasn’t set up to BS8888. Unfortunately a number of our students produced parts for their final projects. We have now set up all PCs to BS8888 but when students open parts that were designed on the old settings they are not in BS8888 (even though if they start a new part they are to BS8888). I have found out how to change the parts from inches to mm but the real issue occurs when they attempt to produce drawings. The isometric view is missing. My question is can I change a part into BS8888 after it has been completed. If not, can I add the isometric view to the parts “named view” list so the drawings pick it up?
Attached are two images of a student trying to assemble parts for a can crusher using Creo Parametric. When the student attempts to constrain the parts we get the second image. We are not sure what is happening and it makes it very difficult to assemble parts. This happens on the majority of our PCs although not the newer ones. Could it just be a graphics issue? Has anybody experienced a similar problem? I have attached a word file with more of the same. Our school uses Windows 7.
An inspiring story how College Park Industries uses Creo to help amputees regain their mobility.http://creo.ptc.com/2013/01/30/documentary-video-highlights-thrill-seeker-college-park-and-ptc-creo/http://creo.ptc.com/2013/01/30/documentary-video-highlights-thrill-seeker-college-park-and-ptc-creo/
For the recently release national challenge, there is no detail information on the area of the three search zones. There is only the indicate angle of the 250 degree on the national challenge statement. However, the search area’s diagram contain the in the statement of does not appear to be draw to scale. The calculated angle of zone 3 is bigger than zone 1 but the diagram shows area of zone 1 is greater than zone 3. Therefore, our team would like to know what would be the angle of each search zones reference to the East axis. Thank you

Hi all,Running Pro Desktop 8 on XP, and I'm having an issue with mating/pivoting an obscure shaped elipse. WIth no straight lines on the elipse it's hard to mate/align it to the straight piece i want to make it to. If I could even just rotate the piece it would make things easier to put pieces insitue but the orient function won't work with that because of no straight pieces. Even if I could split the piece i'm making and use the line as an orientate/align line, but i would need to be able to hide the line once i'm done, how is it possible in pro dekstop 8 to hide/mask/merge a line? Could anyone please point me in the right direction here, I would greatly appreciate it,Thanks

A little test for myself to see if I could bring two skills together, the twist and the sweep, into something useful.I’m OK with the render but it took far, far too long to just get everything on the ‘floor’ and the ring through the hole without interference; done, pretty much, by eye and a lot of fiddling around in Parametric. Even then I had to force a slightly unnatural alignment between the components to simplify adjustments. More than two or three elements would drive me insane.Am I missing something obvious here? A tool or approach that would make this sort of assembly easier? Any tips?
So I downloaded the software about 2 days ago and recieved that message. Didn't know why until now. I realized I incorrectly typed the wrong licence number. Problem is, I have no clue how to change it to the correct one. Any help? Thanks.-Bret

que hago si al abrir creo parametrico 2.0 no me aparecen los planos?
when I use the swept blend tool on existing sketches, the points on my sketches don't always line up. The picture I uploaded explains my situation, pretty much, I want the area in orange to be the same as the area in grey, but the problem is the edges of my sketches aren't matching up correctly..so does anyone have any tips for me to fix this? (I'm using creo schools edition) thanks guys

Hi AllJust installed Creo 2.0 release M030. All goes well with installation. However, the browser screen does not close when new part is selected. This obviously masks datum planes etc. All the ribbons are visible but the browser window will not close. Any suggestions?
