We are planning to deprecate the Arbortext Compact Installer support.  This is the ability to create an Arbortext install package that is smaller than the default installation and that includes a custom folder.   Instead, users will need to install the full featured Arbortext Editor, and the custom folder will need to be distributed separately from Arbortext Editor.   This will not affect the zipped customization capability, where the custom folder is deployed in a zip file.

Is there a way to add the tag templates menu to the toolbar a  drop down menu to insert the tag templates into your document?   Bryon

Hi guys, sometimes we must search and replace text with the arbortext editor. This works fine, but in some xml-files/productions it is important that these replacements are not made in some special tags.  We cannot find any option in the search & replace window. Unfortunately also with ACL we could not find a solution, as the "gsub" method would replace in the whole document. Do you have an idea to find a way to search and replace in the arbortext editor except some tags? Thank you in advance. Greetings from Germany

Currently we use predefined template sizes in Isodraw, once the image is complete we export to cgm, insert in editor and publish to pdf. Everything looks good. If I use the same process, but export to SVG  The image size changes and the extents of the image borders is not obeyed. What are the settings that we should be using in Isodraw so our template sizes are obeyed?    Once we get that issue solved is there a way to use the same image sizes for web output or do we have to go in and modify the SVG image settings? If we want the images  to scale for mobile devices are we going to have to set the scaletofit to yes?   Thanks   Bryon

Is anyone using SVG images in Web or HTML output from Arbortext?   A few Preferences can be changed and it will work, but only in IE (not Chrome) from what I can see. Also, it is placing the SVG image in an intelligent graphic viewer so you can zoom in/out, pan, reset. etc.  Interesting, but since it is not cross browser it is a fail.    Maybe someone has solved this?   Thanks Andy B.

Hi all,Been awhile since I did SGML, (been XML last few years), but new USAF project is SGML TOs in AF DTD 38784STD-BV9.I have the dtd and fosi stuff (provided GFE/GFI, but no demo.sgm file was in the batch of files... was hoping someone had a simple/shell/demo sgml file for starters. Anyone?Else, it's completely starting from scratch (and the old digging for basic start point / end point tags and attributes to simply 'get going.')Would like to avoid this - gotta build out the whole set of TOs anyway... trade for a beer at a date and location to be named later?Hopefully someone's got a simple SGML demo file I can start with.Thanks for all reads/replies.Regards, Bob W.(With beer but no .sgm file.... in Bristol, RI, US)

Hello,   Is it possible to fill the content of a title element, for example from a topic, with the name of the textual content holder from windchill.   So when you name the textual content holder in Windchill 'Test Topic', the title element contains the text 'Test Topic' when opening the topic in Arbortext Editor.  

Good afternoon, one of our users is trying to insert an appendix into a ditamap that is using TIA. When they press enter to access the markup allowed window, appendix is not listed there. It was there in SMA. Is there an easy solution to this issue? Currently we are inserting a Division and giving it a navtitle of appendix, but this way it is being given a chapter number which is not desirable.   Thanks, Bryon

Just started to get this error when checking out of Windchill via Arbortext:   Pagedesc counter variable "taskcdct" is modified in the styledesc.   This is pmrim, periodic maintenance.  How do I find styledesc to fix?

Is there a way to have text on the outside of a 2D circle?   Bryon

I use the function keys for lots of things with Autohotkey macros, but of course I'm then re-using the keys that are set by Isodraw. When I go back to Isodraw, it's irritating that I can't use f5 and f6 to delete parts of lines unless I re-load Isodraw. Does anyone know how Isodraw programs these keys, so that I can have a macro that sets them back again? Perhaps a Windows command or feature that tells you what is in each function key?

Hi all,   Wondering if anyone can help. We are just starting our annual print project. It's a reference book of approx. 3500 pages, however we break it down into alpha letters. So, each chunk varies between 100 to 300 pages (some 400pgs). Last year, with PE 7.0 it took approx. 15-20 min to generate approx. 150 pages. This year, it's taking almost an hour (we upgraded to 7.1, not sure if that has anything to do with it) At this rate, we'll never finish on schedule.   Every time we make a correction (pagination stage) we have to regenerate the PDF. An hour each time... yikes. Note that we comment out some of the topics as we go along to help with performance, but by the time you get to the end of the letter, you are generating 100+ pages.   The PE engine is installed on it's own server on a HOST (ESX VMware). 24  GB Memory,  2 CPUs, 1 core/socket, 2 total Cores, 1 NICs,  275.58  GB Used Space, 374.16  GB Provisioned Space. In 2014, support.ptc stated that IsoView would not be updated or replaced. CreoView is supposed to be able to open .cgm files. Internet Explorer is for backward compatibility only on windows 10; the functionality of Internet Explorer is waning quickly. But because IsoView is ActiveX it does not work in any other browser.   IsoDraw's unique hotspot functions have created powerful customer facing interaction without incredible investment. I would like to know what the path forward has become?   Can i connect an arbortext bill of materials with a creoview cgm's hotspots? Currently when i attempt to open a cgm in creoview, it freezes/crashes. Is there a cgm viewer plugin that can display the hotspots of the cgm in Edge or Chrome as a replacement for isoview in the 64 bit world without the much heavier installation of creoview?    

We are exploring switching from CGM to svg to reduce publishing time, but we have come up with an issue. We are just finishing setting up Arbortext publishing engine 7.1 m020 and it seems that Ape duplicates the callouts. See case CS284369. The work around is to modify the svg. We have 25,000 or so images that I have converted in Isodraw to SVG that would need to be modified. What are others doing for there work flow around this issue.  It does not seem to have any sort of priority to get fixed as the case is for 7.0.     Thanks   Bryon
