Vuforia Studio

Hi All,   Well now that Creo Illustrate sequences work on the HoloLens, I've been going back to update some of my experiences with animations that I couldn't use before and have encountered a problem with forceHidden not working as expected when viewing the experience.   I've got an experience that shows 4 doors opening on a vehicle when a user clicks on them.  But sometimes I'll have a 2 door vehicle, so I don't want to see the rear doors.  The rear doors are a separate model widget with their own PVZ file with the sequence selected and I'm setting the widget property forceHidden = true when I don't want to see them.   It all works perfectly in the preview, but on the HoloLens, it ignores the setting and doesn't hide the rear doors when it should.   Anyone else seeing this?   Cheers,   Allan

Does anyone know of a way to get copies of the project files for the PTC Gallery experiences (Medium-Range Missile, Espresso Maker, Helicopter Assembly, Pipes and Valves Replacement, etc.)? I have a customer who would be interested in seeing how those projects were built, to see how they can adapt techniques in those projects for their own AR development.   --Clay

Hello,   I am seeing that the experience is pretty unstable even when the FPS is more than 30, it starts to flicker.   Also the model starts to follow the screen and tilts at different orientation which is not the desired result.   Let me know if there is something that can be done to address this.   Thanks, Avinash

Up until today I was using Vuforia 8.3.2.3622. While previewing a HoloLens experience I had issues getting the preview to work correctly. My log kept giving me this error code.   error: [twx-studio:index] Respond with 404 ENOENT: no such file or directory, stat 'C:\Users\Jambrose\Documents\VuforiaStudio\Projects\Twisted\dist\extensions\js\cursors\spin.cur'   The last time I had an issue with an error like this, downloading the new version of Vuforia provided a solution. My assumption was this would be the case again. Having been prompted for a few days that a new version 8.3.4.3838 was available I uninstalled 8.3.2 and installed 8.3.4. I am trying to overlay data from Thingworx on a pump model at different locations, I need to overlay pump data on pump, pipe flow data on pipe. I have a 3D model of the setup, can I just use the model for detection and proper placement of data in 3D plane without displaying. I guess the Blue Pump tutorial is a good starting point but I can't find the .zip file needed.

Hi all,Can I run external software (for example clicking on link) from Thingworx Studio in Hololens?I can run in iPad programs such as Vuforia Chalk or Vuforia View just with click on link (in Browser or in Thingworx Studio) but I don't know if run another type of software can be performed in the same way. In particular this program is VNCcaster. I installed it from Microsoft Store.

Hi I realized that the pvz file from Creo Illustrate can only transfer the animation. Seems that with transferring the following items, it will be a great way to work.   So, can I check is there anyway to transfer: - Multiple steps  - Annotations - Symbols - Insets - Exploded lines - Finally same orientation of animation as in the Illustrate (as we  capture camera position)   - Ravi  

Hello,I need to know if i buy the Vuforia Studio, do i will need to buy the Thingworx Composer to build the data for do the Augmented Reality with IoT?Thank you.  

Just discovered a great new feature in 8.3.3.   When you are in the Preview window and you click on a 3D item you can now see the object name in the browser debug console. Previously all you got was the x&y coordinates of the click event. Even better if you click on a modelItem or model it will tell you the name and occurrence path of the 3D item you clicked on. This is a great help in debugging and figuring out the occurrence path for objects. Much better then counting your way thru the tree in the Creo View.   Here is an example of what you get

I tried to view my Experience (Published using Spatial Target) in Laptop version Vuforia view. I clicked on the link to view the experience and it asked for Horizontal or Vertical surface,when i select the corresponding one,the window is popping up as "Sorry! Spatial tracking isn't  supported on this device,so 3D elements wont be displayed."   My system Details are OS - Windows 10 , x64.   Please help me to fix the issue to view the Experience in Laptop/Desktop version.

I have a HoloLens experience built and am trying to display a 3D Labels visibility for 5 seconds controlled by the end of a sequence, then seamlessly control 5 pairs of a 3DLabel and 3DImage that are show together, cycling through each pair for a 5 seconds each. Each pair is a label describing what the image is showing.

Hello,   I am using blue pump for model target. I have a 3d printed model of only the blue pump( not the entire assembly), I am trying to get only the blue pump model as the model target but unfortunately, when I drag & drop the model target, it is considering the entire blue pump assembly for detection view settings.   Any suggestions on how to achieve this?   Avinash

How to play mp4 video in Hololens? I can't find the widget(play video) from eye-wear project. Can I use another method to play video in Hololens?

I'm reposting this after it was taken down last week without explanation and none of the mods will reply to my PMs.   So Illustrator 5 corrupted a file on me last week somehow. I started a project in it and was working fine last week. Now I open the file and when I try to enter into one of my figures with a sequence, Illustrate exits. I really didn't want to lose all the work I put into that figure sequence so I took some time to see if I could revert the file to 4.2. I had some success so I wanted to share how I did it here if it will help anyone else out.   Note: Use at your own risk and back up your files before trying this. While it worked for my simple files containing only animation sequences I'm sure it will fail in some instances especially if you are using new features not present in 4.2.   Let's say I have a file names bike.c3di   Rename the file to bike.c3di.zip and extract to a folder. Hi   When we import the pvz file from Creo Illustrator that has animations inside, we can choose the animation in the resource properties page.   My question is, is there any other way/any other file format that has animation inside can be imported into Vuforia Studio?   Or one step behind, is there any pvz file file convertor that can convert the Solidworks composer file with animation from other similar tools?   Thanks Ravi
